Chapter 634: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)

I lived in Birwick peacefully. Amadea really took good care of me. And as time went by, I could see my belly getting bigger. As Mera’s wife had said that I would slowly love the baby inside me, it was right. I could feel it. Even though I hadn’t seen the face of my baby, I knew that the baby in my womb was the most beautiful creature that I had ever had in my life.

I couldn’t wait to meet our baby soon. Amadea also said the same thing every night. He whispered many grateful words because our little snowdrop had been present in our lives.

I always couldn’t hold back my laughter when Amadea called our baby a little snowdrop. He said he hoped our baby would be a sign as well as hope that winter would end and spring would come as soon as possible.

In this dark time, Amadea wanted our little snowdrop to be the hope for the creatures of Birwick to survive and keep on living on the side of Birwick Mountain.

A soft hand touched my face. Amadea came back with a snowdrop flower and placed it above my ear. After that, he helped me to stand up.

"If you’re sleepy, I shouldn’t have asked you to come with me."

"Oh, don’t say that. I want to see the snowdrop garden you made for me."

The two of us were going to where the wolf clan was, the place where Amadea always got the snowdrop flowers every day. We just rested for a while under an apple tree because I was tired.

Being a pregnant woman wasn’t easy. At first, I didn’t understand the meaning of mood swings until finally, in the early months of my pregnancy, I felt it myself.

I could feel how fast my mood could change. Starting from laughing out loud at the jokes from Amadea that if I remembered it again, they weren’t too funny. Then, I cried loudly because they remembered my father and mother who were happy without me.

After entering my fifth month of pregnancy, I didn’t really feel it anymore. However, lately I often wanted a lot of strange things. The creatures in Birwick said that I was craving. However, I always felt guilty whenever I asked for something because sometimes in the middle of the night, when Amadea and I were sleeping, I suddenly woke up with the urge to eat apples, and the apples must be picked from the tree by Amadea.

Later at night, I wanted food that was only sold in the market which Mirai, my friend who was also my lady-in-waiting often bought for me. I had to wait alone at home, and Amadea left the mountain to get the food I wanted.

And to see these snowdrop flowers was also our little snowdrop wish. Even though I had been wondering where Amadea got the flowers from, I never asked until after having breakfast, I was really curious where the snowdrop flowers came from.

Then, Amadea patiently fulfilled my strange wish again.

I stood up and took the man’s hand so I wouldn’t fall. I stroked my stomach for a while so it would relax a bit.

"Don’t do funny things and just walk properly," said Amadea.

I just laughed and kept doing what I was doing.

I climbed a giant tree trunk and walked on it. Amadea held my hand tightly with one hand holding my hip, keeping me from falling. Even though he always forbade me from doing this and that, I felt he wasn’t too strict.

Amadea was never angry. He kept calm in every situation, and sometimes I even ignored his scolding.

"I can read your mind. Don’t make it a habit. You have to listen to me as your husband who is living here longer."

I could read Amadea’s mind too. Even though his words sounded a bit stern, I knew that the man was really worried about me.

Amadea’s words were true. After we became a real mate, I could now read the man’s thoughts and there were almost no misunderstandings between us because I understood what he wanted to convey, although sometimes the words he said were harsher than they should be. The man never meant anything bad. He just wanted to protect me.

After we arrived at the end of the tree trunk, Amadea lifted my body and put me down gently.

"Thank you," I said.

"You’re welcome."

I chuckled to cover the embarrassment that I felt when I heard the man expressed his love in his head. Amadea was really too often in expressing his love, and every time the man said it or just showed it, I still felt overwhelmed. I felt like what Amadea said was something really valuable and I would do my best to respond to it.

I had visited the werewolf clan several times. Amadea was truly treated like a god by his clan, but it was a little different for me. They still couldn’t seem to accept that I was human. Even though Amadea had shown my power in healing wounds, I could still feel the sharp aura of the werewolves toward me.

They were quite polite to me. They had also accepted the fact that I was one of the humans blessed by the Moon Goddess’ power. They had never discriminated against me, but the stares from them made me uncomfortable. Thus, if Amadea asked me to visit the werewolf clan, I often lied that I felt unwell to avoid it.

"I want to take mine," said Amadea to the werewolves who knelt before us.

"Yes, we keep the garden just for you."

Amadea and I then walked through a path with an iron gate. Along the way, I could see hills of green grass which were quite beautiful. Many flowers bloom there. After walking quite a distance, we arrived at a gate where a mountain troll was sleeping.

Amade greeted him, making the mountain troll suddenly wake up. He wasn’t blind like the one guarding the waterfall cave. He recognized Amadea and me right away, just like the mountain troll before. Although he could see, we had to get to know each other by touching each other’s hands.

Amadea said the mountain troll was one of the stupid creatures. They might forget about me in a few seconds, and the only way for them to recognize me was by touching my hand.

Of course, that didn’t apply to Amadea who was the guardian of this mountain. Everyone in Birwick would recognize him at once without the man doing anything at all. He only needed to stand there, and all Birwick’s creatures would freeze in place, waiting for him to speak.

After introducing myself, Amadea invited me to enter the iron gate with very beautiful carvings. One step into the gate, and I could see an expanse of snowdrop flowers that were truly breathtaking. The expanse of green grass was covered by the beauty of the white snowdrops, giving the impression of winter.

"Whoa.... It’s so beautiful," I complimented.

I let go of my hand from Amadea’s hand to see the garden. Then, I saw the snowdrops that were laid all over the hill one by one. The flowers were only as high as my index finger. Amadea picked the closest one to give to me.

"Even until we have the tenth descendant, these flowers will not run out," said Amadea proudly.

"How could that be? Doesn’t this flower only grow at the end of winter? Why did it grow in soil like this?"

"Of course it can. I can do anything that human logic can’t think of," he answered proudly.

Amade then invited me to take a closer look in the middle of the garden. In front of me now stood something towering that was covered with a black cloth.

"What is this?"

"The Temple of the Moon Goddess. I dedicate this temple to be used by the creatures of Birwick to praise you."

"Me?" I asked in confusion.

"Yeah, because you are a person blessed by the Moon Goddess, and all beings should respect you as much as they respect me. And you deserve a temple as a place to pray."

I couldn’t believe it. I felt so unworthy. Getting a temple as a place where all beings pray to me? But, what could I do to repay their kindness?

"Oh, you don’t have to do anything. Just be yourself and stay by my side forever," Amadea said, and it made me feel so touched by his words.

Amadea removed the cloth covering the towering object, and I could see a statue of a woman hugging her baby. I looked up in amazement. Was it me? And was the baby that the woman was carrying my baby?

When I was still amazed by what I saw, Amadea moved behind me. Hanging on a simple gold necklace right in front of my face. I reached out to see a snowdrop pendant with a red flower on it.

"Amadea ..."

"This is a gift for you because you have become mine completely."

Amadea then put the necklace around my neck. I looked up again to see my statue. Then, I lifted my hand and saw the statue between my fingers.

"Amadea, I promise I will always be by your side. I will also look after Birwick Mountain as much as I can because this place is my home right now."

A hand held my outstretched hand, and Amadea hugged me from behind.

"I am very happy to hear that."
