Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 635: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)
Becoming Amadea’s partner made my world change one hundred and eighty degrees. I felt myself was something worthy to be present in this world. The man acknowledged my existence. He didn’t just see me as a beautiful doll that was displayed and protected at all times.
Me and the temple that Amadea made for me were slowly connecting with each other. I could feel something every time someone visited the temple to ask for help. And with my blood which could heal all diseases, as well as wounds, I distributed it to every being who asked for help at the temple.
I didn’t always visit the temple. Amadea just asked for my blood and then put it there. And I enjoyed it every time I felt that they were grateful for the little help I had given.
Amadea never forced me to use my power. I did it voluntarily. I had also been able to quickly close my wound again. All thanks to Hylios who had long since returned to his clan.
As my belly was getting bigger, the baby reached seven months old. Several times, Amadea could feel the movements made by our little snowdrop in my belly. I always laughed when I saw the man’s panicked face when he felt our little snowdrop for the first time.
He was worried that the movement of our little snowdrop would cause me pain, but not at all. I didn’t feel anything. I actually enjoyed it.
My bond with the little snowdrop was getting stronger each time. It felt like every time I woke up, my love for little snowdrops was getting deeper and bigger every day. I touched my belly once again. We were currently visiting the human market to buy the things for the preparations of our baby.
Even though Amadea could do it alone, I wanted to join him. He and I had also visited the human market several times. I didn’t feel hurt anymore every time I saw Birwick Castle. I had my own life now.
Amadea stopped at a shop selling fruit. I saw little white things for sale piled up beside other winter fruits. I had never seen that fruit before.
"Amadea, what kind of fruit is that? I’ve never seen it before," I asked while pointing at the pile of white fruit.
Amadea stopped for a moment and turned towards the fruit I was pointing at.
"Oh,... those are Frostberries. They only grow in Northendell during winter. You really haven’t tried it? Amadea asked. Maybe he couldn’t believe it when I said that this was the first time I had seen this fruit.
I nodded in confirmation. I had never seen that fruit. Even when I lived in Northendell, I had never been served those fruits. The palace maids always brought me fruits that grew in summer. I had never even heard of its name.
"You want to try it?"
I nodded once again. I pulled down the hood of the coat I was wearing because I didn’t want anyone to recognize me because of my white hair that stood out quite a bit. And based on my knowledge, only me and the king had this hair color.
Amadea put the small fruit in the palm of my hand.
"Try one first, I’ll buy you more if you like it."
I put it into my mouth, and when I bit it slowly, the liquid immediately filled my mouth. It tasted like fireworks with a million flavors. It was really sweet, but there was a little sour which made me want to eat more.
"You don’t need to say it. I know you like it," said Amadea while rubbing something on the corner of my lips. The man licked his thumb which had a red liquid on it.
"I will buy this," Amadea said to the fruit seller.
I hugged Amadea’s arm while waiting for the seller to wrap the Frostberries. I nodded in satisfaction and couldn’t wait to go home to taste it again.
After buying the fruit, Amadea invited me to visit a tailor to order new clothes for our snowdrop, so that in the next two months when I give birth, our snowdrop could have warm new clothes because Mera’s wife predicted that our snowdrop would be born in winter. That was why we needed to prepare everything.
Amadea opened the door of the tailor shop we were going to visit. However, when I just entered the place, Amadea’s body suddenly stiffened. I knew this attitude. Usually, Amadea became like this when something happened to Birwick Mountain. He looked at me for a moment.
"Cecilia, leave this place. Hurry, go to the forest of Birrwick Mountain right away. Don’t look back and keep moving forward. I want to take you home, but I can’t lose a second now."
I nodded in understanding, but before I left, Amadea held me for a while.
"Don’t stop and you must immediately set your foot on Birwick Mountain because there you will be protected."
I gave him a smile. "I understand, Amadea. You’ve told me a hundred times."
Actually, I was very curious about what happened and why Amadea looked so anxious right now, but I could ask him after he came back later. I just needed to follow his words to return to Birwick Mountain because if there was no Amadea, then Birwick Mountain would protect me.
I turned around and headed back towards the direction when I first arrived. We were in the Kingdom of Birwick, a kingdom located near Birwick Mountain. I just needed to walk quickly towards the forest, and I could breathe easily. I heard several female’s screams from a distance.
I reminded myself not to look back. My heart was pounding fast. I felt curious because just a few seconds ago everything felt so peaceful.
BOOM!
I flinched in surprise at hearing the loud sound of explosions. The sound seemed far away, but it could be heard up to his place. I had a bad feeling about things. The Birwick Kingdom shouldn’t be like this.
Amadea could definitely protect it. I trusted my husband, so I shook my head, trying to erase the bad possibilities. Again, screams could be heard. I was trying not to run because I was pregnant. Most of the creatures in Birwick also forbade me to run around during my pregnancy.
I didn’t want anything bad to happen, so I tried to walk even faster. Amadea forbade me to turn around. I just needed to go straight until I reached the forest of Birwick Mountain.
From behind me, crowds of people were running towards the forest just like me. Someone nudged my shoulder from behind, making me almost fall over. Luckily, a woman caught my hand before I fell.
"Oh my god, miss. You’re pregnant. We must hide immediately. Birwick is under attack from Northendell’s troops!"
"Uh, by who?"
I could hardly believe what the woman was saying. Northendell? It was impossible .... back then... King Theodore promised not to attack Birwick. He promised to protect Birwick!
I kept walking faster. The woman helped me so I could get back to Birwick Mountain, but we were separated because the woman was dragged away by the flow of hundreds of people in the market. I tried to calm myself down because I didn’t want Amadea to worry if she heard my anxiety.
I started to feel scared when I heard the sound of horses galloping closer. I was left behind. Everyone had run away except for me. The border of Birwick Mountain was only a few steps away before a horse stopped in front of me. I looked up and saw a knight in a uniform I recognized.
The man was wearing the knight’s uniform of Northendell.
"Gather all the people of Birwick! And hold them all! I don’t care if she’s a woman or a child!"
I tightened the ties on my coat even more. I didn’t want to be seen. And when two knights started to approach to catch me, suddenly a gray wolf lunged at them from behind, startling all the people there.
I locked eyes with the gray wolf. He gave the signal to immediately enter Birwick Mountain. I flinched when I saw a sword slash the wolf’s hand. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Meet me for your wound!!!" I shouted before I entered Birwick Mountain.
I stood while looking at the wolf who was trying to fight off several troops surrounding him. The vines of the Birwick plant started to wrap up my legs, and I saw a man I hadn’t seen for a long time stop his horse and cut the wolf’s head in one slashed.
We locked eyes for a few seconds. Seeing the wolf that was protecting me being chopped off made me cry on the spot. The man on the white horse galloped towards me. He screamed my name, but I chose to turn around and returned to Berwick who would always protect me.
I let the vines wrap around me and when I opened my eyes. I was in front of the waterfall. In my head, I could vividly see the face of the wolf that helped me earlier. If it was like that, I would never be able to heal him again.
Actually, what happened? Why did King Theodore invade Birwick? Was it because... I wasn’t in Northendell as collateral?
