Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 636: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)
I returned home with my body trembling with fear. I decided to rest to calm myself down. The incident that happened just now really made my legs feel so weak. Remembering the sharp gaze from King Theodore earlier, I really wanted to cry.
I tried to think positively. I didn’t want Amadea to feel my anxiety. After trying to distract my mind, I finally fell asleep due to exhaustion.
I just woke up when the door to the house opened. I saw Amadea coming back with a face full of blood. We stared at each other for a moment, and he handed me a bouquet of snowdrops.
"Amadea, what happened this afternoon?"
"I’ll clean up first. You don’t like it when I’m dirty like this, do you?"
I didn’t answer, and Amadea immediately went to clean his body in the lake. I held my throbbing head. Maybe because I let myself fall asleep while my body was still tense? I didn’t know, but it really hurt.
While waiting for Amadea to finish cleaning his body, I prepared warm tea for both of us. I waited at the dining table and replaced the snowdrop flowers in the vase that were starting to wither with a fresh one that Amadea had brought.
The man had come back and sat in the seat in front of me. I was waiting for him to start explaining what happened this afternoon. Why was the Birwick Kingdom, which was said to always be under the protection of the Northendell Kingdom, attacked by the troops of Northendell Kingdom itself?
"It seems your father has done something that made the King of Northendell call off the deal. Since a few months ago, you have been declared missing. The Northendell Kingdom as well as the Birwick Kingdom agreed to carry out a joint search. As you saw while visiting your family a few months ago, your mother and father seemed completely unbothered by your disappearance. That’s probably what made the King of Northendell get mad."
Amadea said he still didn’t know the exact cause. That was all he had heard from the people. Amadea had been experiencing unusual activities since he found a dead wolf at the foot of Birwick Mountain a few months ago, and it seemed it had something to do with Northendell trying to invade Birwick Mountain to find me.
I felt uncomfortable when Amadea said that almost every day, he killed the knights who tried to set foot on Birwick Mountain. Amadea only allowed people with good intentions, like people who came to visit the temple or look for food, to enter Birwick Mountain. He didn’t give permission to humans who had destructively invasive intentions.
Amadea looked tired. I got up from my seat to hug him. He then put his hand on my belly and gave it lots of kisses.
"I know you don’t like violence, but this is a place I have to guard. If I let them, they will continue to destroy Birwick Mountain. I have to stop them before it’s too late."
I nodded in understanding. Amadea had taken very good care of this mountain. I only hoped that what the man was doing would stop the humans from destroying this mountain. And I just wanted my husband to rest for a while and stop thinking about other things.
For almost seventeen years, I spent my time with humans so I could understand that humans were the most difficult creatures to work with. They always wanted to win. I could see why the creatures in Birwick hated humans, but not all humans were bad.
There were also sincere and kind humans. One of them was Mirai, my old friend who I hoped would find a more decent life outside the Birwick Kingdom with her lover.
However, it seemed that the protection that Amadea did for Birwick Mountain actually made Northendell’s troops want to explore the mountain more deeply. Later, Amadea even had to ask for the help of the werewolf clan to push back the Northendell’s troops.
I waited at my temple and treated some of the werewolves who had returned injured. Amadea asked me not to push myself, but I couldn’t let the werewolves who had worked hard to protect Birwick get hurt. Injuring my own hand to make it bleed was painful, but seeing the injured werewolves grimacing in pain without me being able to help anything made me suffer even more.
And every day, not only werewolves who were injured, I even met several centaurs who were also involved in the war against humans. Water dragons also came to help Amadea, but strangely they always came back injured.
I saw Amadea who was getting restless. He released flames in his hands, and I immediately touched the man’s hand so he wouldn’t let out his power haphazardly. The power of flames that Amadea had was a blessing from the Sun God, and it shouldn’t be used carelessly because Amadea promised not to hurt Birwick with his flames. The flames had to be used to protect Biwick.
I was a little worried because last night, Amadea said that he would rather crush Birwick to dust than have to bend his knees to humans. Amadea was getting annoyed because he didn’t get any support from the fire dragon clan. Mera was busy taking care of his wife and completely ignored the things that happened to Birwick.
I was always worried every time Amadea had to go to face Northendell’s troops who never gave up on continuing to enter Birwick Mountain. I heard that they also got the help of some magic power, so they were getting stronger every day.
And even today I felt something strange. I had a bad feeling. Amadea was hugging my growing belly every day, and in the next few minutes, he had to leave again with the female werewolves in the temple. I was no longer waiting at the temple near the snowdrop garden because Amadea didn’t want the injured to splatter blood on my snowdrops.
Amadea didn’t want the snowdrops to be damaged. So from that I was evacuated to his temple. Amadea’s temple was behind the waterfall. Just walking a few kilometers from our house, there was a temple with quite high steps, and I could see a dagger made of crystal.
