Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 689: The Adorable Side Of Ronan
Ronan always had his own fear. He had also made up his mind to forget everything and lead a new life, but why did it feel so difficult? His breath caught. Was he jealous of Irene or his father?
Ronan’s mind continued to be enveloped by many questions that burdened him until he didn’t feel that his feet were already standing in front of Arielle’s library door. He then opened the door without knocking first.
Seeing Arielle looking up from the pile of papers and giving him a wide and gentle smile made his head lighten up again. All the fog and burden he felt before had faded away.
"Ah, I forgot I still have her," Ronan muttered with a light chuckle.
How could someone be so bright? Ronan thought as he saw the sight of his wife shining brightly only with the gray light from the window as well as the fire from the fireplace. Ronan felt like looking directly at the sun.
Ronan stepped closer and hugged his wife tightly.
"What is it? Why did you suddenly act like this?" Arielle asked in confusion at seeing her husband’s strange attitude.
"Nothing. Do you know that I really love you?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Arielle chuckled and hugged the man no less tightly. "I know. And I love you too," she replied in a voice that was so comforting to Ronan.
"Thank you very much, Arielle. I can breathe a little easier now."
"Something’s been bothering you, right?"
"Yes, a little, but now it’s fine."
Arielle didn’t want to force her husband to tell her about the things bothering him. If the man felt the need to share, then he would talk about it sooner or later. Ronan might want to keep it to himself now. Arielle wasn’t going to push the man to the point of making him uncomfortable. Besides, that was what Ronan did to her all the time, namely giving her time.
After finding his composure again by hugging Arielle, Ronan let go of his embrace and took the pile of papers that William had brought for him to work on.
"Let’s get back to work. I have to finish this before our trip next week," said Ronan, encouraging himself to focus on work again.
However, working with Arielle by his side was really the biggest temptation. The thing that made Ronan a bit upset was how the girl could be so focused on her papers while he was busy with his small activity of looking at her.
Ronan couldn’t really focus on work with Arielle around. Either his hands would play with the girl’s hair, look for a chance to pinch his wife’s cheeks, or just ask for a kiss every five minutes in the midst of signing some documents.
Ronan looked up at the ceiling. He was now lying on the soft rug by the fireplace. He placed his head comfortably on Arielle’s lap who was reading whatever the paper the girl was working on.
His hands were placed on top of his body while he was in deep thought.
At times like this, Ronan wanted to forget all his responsibilities. However, if he continued to ditch away his work for various reasons like this, then he would never get a day off in the end. Ronan immediately got up and busied himself with the papers again.
"Why? You said you’re sleepy?" asked Arielle who was confused why her husband sat down and did his work again even though some time ago, the man begged her to lend her lap because he was sleepy.
"We can’t be lazy if we want to have a vacation next week," Ronan answered briefly.
Arielle could only smile. She couldn’t remember whether she was lazy or diligent. She just thought that she had to do what she was supposed to do. It was actually the man who had been doing a lot of things and always had reasons to prevent her from touching her work as a queen.
However, Arielle did not say it. She kept it for herself upon seeing Ronan who looked confused whether wanting to go back to work or just lazing around. It was an adorable and rare sight to behold.
Arielle smoothed her skirt and held another piece of paper that she was going to match with the report until finally she felt a head resting on her lap again.
When she slightly lifted the paper she was reading, she saw Ronan who looked serious with the paper on his hands.
"Hm ... "
Arielle could no longer hold back her laughter, making Ronan, who had just gained his concentration, lowered his paper again to see the reason his wife was suddenly laughing so hard.
"What? Did you find anything funny?"
Ronan got up to take a peek at the paper Arielle had read earlier and found nothing worth laughing about.
Arielle shook her head while holding her stomach. She contented herself with laughing first until she finally managed to stop it. Then, she cupped Ronan’s face who was waiting patiently for an explanation as to why she was laughing.
"I’m laughing at you," said Arielle, making Ronan raise his eyebrows in surprise.
"I? What did I say?" The man asked confusedly.
"It’s not what you say, but what you do. I really can’t hold back my laughter. I know you have a hard time concentrating on your work, but you look so adorable, like a restless child. It reminds me of Sasha who is confused when he is told to buy candy at the candy store," Arielle answered.
Perhaps if someone else had said it, Ronan would have been greatly offended, but it was an honor for him to make Arielle laugh freely.
The man got up and put his hands on the floor to support his body. He then tilted his face in front of Arielle at such a close distance that the girl had to step back to keep herself away.
"I’m adorable?" asked Ronan in a teasing tone. The man smiled mischievously when he found his wife’s face began to flush red.
"I didn’t mean to offend you at all. What I mean is ...."
"I’m not the slightest bit offended. It’s an honor for me if I look adorable in your eyes," the man said, then brought out his wolf ears so suddenly that Arielle gasped.
