Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 74: Ronan Wants To Ask Arielle Something Important
Something unusual happened on the last full moon. It seemed, vaguely, that the king could feel Arielle’s presence there. In the man’s dim memory, Arielle’s fearful face was frozen.
After that, a bright light strained out his vision. But then Ronan could remember nothing more except waking up in the backyard of the palace, shivering.
Fuck! He couldn’t keep this thing from Arielle if he wanted her to stay with him. But how to let the girl know? And how would Arielle react when she found out that his eyes really represented a curse inside him...?
Ronan laid down on the floor to think. If one day Arielle rejected his wolf side, what would Ronan do? His hand raised. He looked at his palm, which had many scars on them.. This was a testament to his hard work as someone who had fought dragons.
Damn, Ronan wasn’t even afraid or thought twice when he was fighting a bunch of dragons on Mount Birwick. However, now he felt like such a pathetic man. It was like that brave man who fought dragons was not him.
The man got up to grab his clothes and quickly put them back on. He waited for a while before he’d return to the girl’s room.
Arielle had finished cleaning herself and changed into loose sleepwear. Dinner was served, and she ate it slowly while sharing her steak with the fox as well.
"Eat a lot, so you can recover quickly," said Arielle with a smile. She stroked the furry animal’s head.
After she finished her dinner, Tania helped Arielle to get some rest. Arielle carried the fox to her bed. She looked at the fox’s hind legs and made sure there was no more blood coming out of the bandages.
Tania closed the door. Arielle started to yawn, but something caught her attention. By the window of her room, stood an easel and a canvas. A sketch had been drawn on it last night. Arielle rubbed the fox’s head gently then got off the bed.
She opened the cloth that covered the canvas and looked at it carefully. She had promised to finish the painting before they returned to the royal palace.
Arielle grabbed a brush and took out some basic color paints which were then mixed with another one, and then she started painting with the hue that now resembled His Majesty’s skin color.
No one knew how long Arielle spent painting that night. The girl completely dedicated her attention to the painting in front of her.
Arielle was so focused on her work, she didn’t realize that the door to her room was opened. Ronan was half asleep from the effects of the alcohol he had drunk. He stepped slowly to enter.
The king was actually a reliable alcohol drinker. So, he only drank a few glasses to relax his body. Coupled with the warm bath water that splashed on his body, Ronan was even more relaxed. The man wasn’t drunk. He was just a little drowsy.
He raised his eyebrows when he saw Arielle, who had not slept even though it was very late at night. Ronan walked so slowly toward her and got closer from behind.
His smile broadened because the girl didn’t notice his presence. He slightly lifted his mask then blew on the girl’s right ear, which made Arielle jump in surprise.
"Your Majesty? What are you doing here?" asked Arielle. She was surprised to find Ronan who was already standing behind her.
"Didn’t I say I’d be back?"
Arielle had almost forgotten about it. She glanced at her painting for a moment and immediately tried to grab for the cloth to cover her work.
"Um... it’s not finished yet," said Arielle. She hoped that Ronan hadn’t seen her painting yet.
Ronan smirked at the girl’s reaction.
"Relax, I haven’t seen it," Ronan replied, lying. He knew that Arielle was still unwilling to let him see it. He had to admit, Arielle’s drawing ability was extraordinary though. The color strokes were very smooth.
"So... is there anything you want to say?" asked Arielle.
Ronan nodded and invited Arielle to sit on the sofa.
"I want to ask you something important."
The girl’s face turned red as Ronan patted his lap. It was a signal for Arielle to sit there.
The girl’s heart was beating so fast that she suddenly felt nervous again. Arielle remembered her desire to keep her distance. She then chose the opposite sofa. Her actions made Ronan chuckle, rather amused.
"Okay."
***
A while ago, when Ronan was about to leave his room to go to Arielle’s room. He was surprised by the presence of Arielle’s personal maid named Tania in front of his room.
"How long have you been waiting outside?" Ronan asked the old woman.
"I was just waiting for a moment, Your Majesty."
Ronan knew that she was lying. There was no way someone who had just been waiting outside for a while could be shivering like that. Ronan didn’t want to make the woman wait any longer and asked what Tania was waiting for.
"Is there something you want to say?" asked Ronan.
"Your Majesty, pardon my impudence..."
The man rested his hands in his pockets and waited for Tania to start speaking.
Tania lowered her head, not daring to look at the sharp glare of the red iris from behind the king’s mask.
"I think... Princess Arielle is still too innocent for many things." Tania bit her lip. She tried to find the suitable words to say so that the king of the north in front of her would not be offended.
"Since Princess Arielle still doesn’t understand anything, can you teach her slowly? Er, I mean... Princess Arielle is a child who is fast to learn and understand, but if pushed too hard, Princess Arielle will definitely get confused and go blank."
Ronan remembered how Arielle reacted when he kissed the girl.
"The princess doesn’t have much experience. In the South, her only companions were us, the servants and palace guards. Princess Arielle never got a formal education. So, maybe there are times when Princess Arielle would act like a commoner, not royalty."
Tania thought for a moment, whether she should convey Arielle’s feelings or not. The woman shook her head for a moment. For matters of the heart, she should Arielle handle it herself. Tania did not want to interfere in this matter.
