Chapter 321: Chapter 321 Reconciliation (4)_1

Just like the eldest brother back then. No matter how much he loved Ye Suya, it was impossible for him to let her into the Qi family’s door.

"I know." Qi Cheng took his gaze back from Ji Yunhuan and looked at his eldest brother. "What are you here to get?"

"I’ll have the housekeeper find it for me later. You don’t have to worry."

The eldest brother chatted with Qi Cheng for a while, then left. Ji Yunhuan was still on the balcony, lost in thought. The wind gently blew her hair and skirt. The breeze of this season was just right, warm but not hot.

The glass door behind her was knocked. Ji Yunhuan turned her head and saw Qi Cheng standing at the door. Only after she turned around did he push the door open and walk out.

He was still in his pajamas. Ji Yunhuan was very worried for him. "It’s cold outside. Go back in."

"No worries." Qi Cheng examined her appearance.

Although Ji Yunhuan looked much better now, with Qi Cheng’s understanding of her, he could still see the traces of her having just cried from her eyes.

"My words just now made you so upset?"

Ji Yunhuan lowered her head. "Go inside."

She didn’t know what to say to him. She just felt very guilty.

Seeing that Qi Cheng didn’t move, Ji Yunhuan walked toward him and held his hand. "Go inside."

Qi Cheng placed her hand in his palm and paused. "It’s quite warm here. I’ve been lying at home for many days. I want to bask in the sunlight here."

Ji Yunhuan could only let him be.

"Yunhuan." Qi Cheng leaned on the railing and held her in his arms. "My greatest hope is that you can stay by my side, never leave me."

Ji Yunhuan looked up at him. He had been lying in bed for so long and hadn’t shaved. A faint shadow of stubble could be seen on his face.

But this look of his did not make her feel repulsed.

Just moments ago, she had wanted to leave him so badly. But now, facing his gaze, she involuntarily nodded. "Okay."

Qi Cheng looked at Ji Yunhuan in disbelief. "You mean it?"

"Yes, I’ll stay by your side unless you drive me away." She leaned on his chest and spoke her heart.

Probably because of this promise, in the next few days, Qi Cheng’s attitude towards Ji Yunhuan was no longer so awkward.

-

At night, Ji Yunhuan lay beside Qi Cheng. Qi Cheng was cutting her nails with scissors. Because she sometimes helped in the restaurant, Ji Yunhuan’s nails were always cut short, without any polish or length.

"Be careful, don’t cut me." Ji Yunhuan reminded.

Qi Cheng had a serious look on his face as if handling something very important. "I’ll be careful."

After a few days of recuperation, although his body hadn’t fully recovered, he could move normally. He only coughed on occasion.

Qi Cheng finished cutting the nails on one hand and switched to the other.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him. "Qi Cheng."

Without raising his head, Qi Cheng asked, "What?"

"I have something to discuss with you."

"If it’s about leaving, I won’t agree." Ji Yunhuan hadn’t even opened her mouth, and Qi Cheng already knew what she was thinking.

Ji Yunhuan said, "Your family members often come here. I don’t want to meet them. I don’t want them to know I’m with you. Let me leave here. At worst, you can move to Jingyang Tower or stay at my place!"

He had been seriously ill before, and she didn’t dare to mention it.

Now, except for occasionally coughing, he had no other issues. He didn’t need to take much medicine. Besides, the weather was warming up, and the chances of a cold relapsing were getting smaller.

Qi Cheng remained silent.

Ji Yunhuan knew there was a chance. She continued, "Do you want your grandpa to know about us? Do you think he would ignore it once he knows? There are so many people in this house. If something happens, it will quickly spread to them. Qi Cheng, be rational."

He looked at her. "Alright."

"Then let’s go to my place! It’s more convenient there. You’ve stayed there for so long." Ji Yunhuan smiled, excitedly asked, "What do you think? Or you can wait until you’re fully recovered before going."

Seeing her smile as soon as he agreed to let her out, Qi Cheng said helplessly, "You really do want to escape from me."

Ji Yunhuan explained. "How is this escaping? It’s just a change of place. I’ve been staying at my place every day before. You never couldn’t see me."

"Whatever." With Qi Cheng’s agreement, Ji Yunhuan took the initiative to kiss him.

He glanced at her, sneered, and said, "Hypocrite."

"..." She lowered the pillow a bit. "Whatever you say. Next time, I won’t kiss you."

Suddenly, her hand hurt. She cried out and drew her hand back. "You cut my hand."

"I did it on purpose."

"..." She examined her finger. It was just pinched, no cut. She couldn’t help but glare at him. "Petty man, holding grudges."

Qi Cheng placed the scissors aside and lay down too.

The next morning, Ji Yunhuan got up early, went downstairs, and made breakfast for Qi Cheng before going back upstairs to call him. "Breakfast is ready."

Qi Cheng lay in bed. Hearing her voice, he opened his eyes. "You’re so happy thinking about leaving here?"

"Not at all." She didn’t want him to change his mind because of unhappiness. "Isn’t it my duty to make breakfast for you? Why would you think I’m actually so happy?"

"You don’t make breakfast for me every day." To Qi Cheng, Ji Yunhuan was happy because she could go out.

Ji Yunhuan said, "Alright, I am happy. I’ve stayed here too long. It’s stifling."

"Being with me makes you feel stifled?" He looked at her, unbelieving.

"..." Ji Yunhuan rolled her eyes at him. "Are you eating or not? If not, I’ll throw everything away."

Qi Cheng got up.

Ji Yunhuan tended to him while he washed up.

That’s how they had lived for so many days.

After breakfast, Ji Yunhuan called the driver to take her home. She had not been home for a long time and missed it, even though there was nothing at home.

Qi Cheng didn’t follow her back.

In the evening, she was trimming the lawn in the yard. By then, she thought Qi Cheng wouldn’t come. But he walked through the front gate.

Judging by his appearance, he was not the kind of person who could stand being alone.

Qi Cheng walked over and watched Ji Yunhuan from the side. "What are you doing?"

Ji Yunhuan, wearing an apron, gestured to the lawn that had been trimmed. "Can’t you tell?"

"You’re quite happy after leaving me," he said with dissatisfaction in his voice.

"So you want me to be unhappy?" Ji Yunhuan smiled helplessly. This man was always whining. "If I cried every day, how would you feel?"

He walked over to hug her. Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m dirty. I’ll get you dirty."
