Chapter 82 - 82

---

"He's like me."

Gwen looked at the figure in the distance, her pupils widening slightly.

Not just similar—his movements were identical to hers.

"Is she Spider-Man too?"

Wanda, standing beside her, finally processed what the girl had mentioned earlier—Spider-Sense. The situation had been too urgent at the time to give it much thought.

Now, it was sinking in.

"Well, it seems your universe has a Spider-Man as well."

Gwen nodded, her eyes locked on the figure balancing on the glider.

"That's Green Goblin, but... he doesn't seem to be from our world."

"Doesn't matter who he is," Finn muttered. "We need to stop him first."

Still, he had a pretty good guess.

That Green Goblin over there—his armor, his posture—it all matched the old stories of a previous generation's Spider-Man.

Right now, it was almost certain: both the first and second Spider-Men had crossed into this universe.

"Let me handle this," Wanda said, stepping forward, her hands glowing with a fierce, scarlet light.

BOOM!!!

"Ahahahaha!"

The Green Goblin cackled, riding his glider high between the skyscrapers. He showed no sign of stopping, tossing pumpkin bombs down onto the streets.

The bright, orange-yellow explosives tumbled downward, their impacts tearing through the pavement. Explosions shattered the early morning stillness, sending civilians running in terror.

"We don't have to do this," a voice called out.

A web shot through the air as Spider-Man—young, energetic, and already panting—swung after him.

"We can stop and talk this out! You keep flying around like this, things are only gonna get worse!"

The masked menace above let out a sharp laugh.

"Oh, you really are Peter Parker! There's nobody in the world as annoying as you!"

With a flick of his wrist, he hurled another bomb straight at the younger Spider-Man.

"More bombs?! Do you have a damn bottomless bag of these things?!"

Peter twisted in midair, ready to dodge—

—but before he could, the morning light was suddenly drowned out in red.

A pulse of Scarlet Witch's magic engulfed the explosive, shrinking it into nothingness before it could detonate.

"Shit."

The Green Goblin's eyes widened beneath his cracked mask as that same crimson energy wrapped around his body.

His glider jolted.

His limbs locked up.

And then, gravity took over.

With a sickening crash, the Goblin plummeted into the pavement below. His glider crumpled, sparks flying as pieces of metal were torn apart. His mask shattered on impact, revealing the bruised and bloodied face of Norman Osborn.

"Wanda!"

Peter landed in front of the group, his masked face lighting up in recognition as he spotted her and Finn.

Finn gave a smirk. "Look at you, kid. Out fighting crime before most people have even gotten to work."

It was true—the greater the power, the greater the responsibility. And Spider-Man embodied that truth every single day.

"Eh, it's nothing," Peter said, scratching the back of his head. In reality, he'd just been on his way to school when he saw a weird-looking guy flying around on a glider.

That was never a good sign.

Sure enough, by the time he followed him, the bombs had already started flying.

As he spoke, he turned his attention to Gwen—only to suddenly freeze in place.

Something about her—something intensely unsettling—was setting off every nerve in his Spider-Sense.

His scalp tingled.

His eyes widened behind his mask.

He couldn't place it. But looking at her was like staring into some kind of mirror, except... wrong.

"Hi," Gwen greeted him with a small smile. "I'm Gwen Stacy. Spider-Woman from another universe."

"WHAT?!"

Peter's head snapped toward Wanda and Finn, looking for confirmation.

Finn only shrugged.

"Yeah, kid, it's complicated, but she's telling the truth. She's a Spider from another reality."

Wanda, unsurprised by Peter's reaction, gave him the same quick rundown she'd received when she first saw herself from another dimension.

Peter's shock deepened.

It was exactly like when he'd seen another Wanda.

There were no differences.

Same face. Same voice. Same expressions.

She even loved the same Lee.

"I... I don't know how to process this," Peter admitted. "She's Spider-Man, but she's not me."

He turned back to Gwen. "So... is there a Peter Parker in your world?"

Her smile faltered.

The light in her eyes dimmed.

"Yes," she answered quietly. "He was my friend."

Then, after a pause, her voice dropped even lower.

"But he's gone."

Silence hung between them for a moment.

"I... I'm sorry," Peter said, frowning beneath his mask. He could tell from the way she spoke that Gwen and her Peter must have been close.

"It's okay," Gwen took a breath, composing herself. "It was a long time ago."

"Gwen," Finn cut in. "Standing in front of you is also Peter Parker."

If she had been surprised earlier, she didn't show it.

"I figured," Gwen admitted. "He asked me himself. But he's not my Peter."

Her gaze lingered on him, studying every difference.

This Peter—young, awkward, full of boundless energy—was nothing like the shy, intelligent, but ultimately fragile boy she had lost.

This one radiated confidence.

Maybe that was why he had become Spider-Man.

"Don't dwell on it," Wanda said gently, taking Gwen's hand. She understood.

She had lost people, too.

Loss changed people. It left scars.

And without even realizing it, Wanda found herself seeing Gwen as something else—something more than just a fellow hero.

A sister.

"Should we go see Strange?" Peter asked.

If things were this complicated, they probably needed him.

Finn raised an eyebrow. "Don't you have school?"

Peter blinked. "Today's Monday?"

"Yeah, genius."

"Eh, Aunt May will cover for me. Let's go!"

Peter was already bouncing in anticipation. He had never actually been to the Sanctum Sanctorum before—only heard about it from Happy Hogan.

One of the most powerful magical strongholds in the world.

This was gonna be awesome.

Finn, meanwhile, turned his gaze back to the unconscious Norman Osborn on the ground.

He needed to talk to Peter about something soon.

Because in another universe, Aunt May had died at this man's hands.

Because in another universe, Peter had let the Goblin go.

Because in another universe, that choice had led him down a dark path—one filled with vengeance, loss, and the terrifying realization that even Spider-Man could break.

And Finn wasn't about to let this Peter make the same mistake.

Not this time.

---

Back at the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York, Doctor Strange had to secure the captured Green Goblin in the basement.

The magical barriers there were ancient and powerful—enough to contain even the most dangerous threats. Since Norman Osborn was merely a man with enhanced technology and psychotic tendencies, he was powerless against it.

Once he finished securing the Goblin, Strange hurried back to Kamar-Taj. He had been working on restoring reality and left behind an enchanted compass, a tool that could detect travelers from alternate universes. More importantly, it could teleport them directly into containment if necessary.

He also granted Finn and the others access to the library, under strict instructions:

No unauthorized spells

No disrupting magical artifacts

And, above all, no recklessness

"Sir, can I learn magic too?"

Peter Parker—the youngest Spider-Man—had been speaking nonstop since they entered. His excitement was palpable.

"If I combine magic and my spider abilities, I could become the first mystical Spider-Man in the multiverse... that sounds pretty cool, right?"

Doctor Strange sighed, rubbing his temples.

"Peter, first, just call me Stephen. Second, magic isn't something you just pick up overnight. And third..." He narrowed his eyes. "For the love of the Vishanti, keep your voice down."

"Sorry," Peter mumbled, looking sheepish. "It's just... the multiverse! This is blowing my mind!"

Finn chuckled and patted Peter's shoulder. "He's just an excited kid who loves science. You can't blame him for being curious."

Peter grinned awkwardly. His mask was off, revealing the youthful enthusiasm on his face. He had always dreamed about the possibilities of the multiverse, and now he was living in it.

Gwen, however, looked exhausted. She yawned, her blue eyes slightly drooping as she watched Peter with an unreadable expression.

She was now certain—this Peter Parker was nothing like the one from her world.

Wanda noticed Gwen's exhaustion and stepped closer.

"Hey, there's a place to rest downstairs," she said gently. "You should get some sleep."

Gwen nodded. "Yeah... I think I'll do that."

Even with enhanced stamina, she had reached her limit. She turned and disappeared into the corridor, leaving the others behind.

Kamar-Taj's Library

Doctor Strange opened a sling ring portal, stepping through to Kamar-Taj in the Himalayas.

The Sanctum Library was vast, filled with knowledge beyond human comprehension. The towering shelves housed ancient tomes, mystical grimoires, and forbidden scrolls that had been collected for centuries.

"Remember," Stephen's voice echoed before the portal closed. "Don't touch anything reckless."

For a few moments, silence settled over the library.

Peter turned to Finn and Wanda.

"So... what now?"

Finn handed Peter the enchanted compass.

"You go to the underground chamber and keep watch," Finn instructed. "If anything happens, let us know."

Peter frowned. "That's it?"

He had expected epic battles, spells flying everywhere, or at least a high-stakes chase across dimensions.

Instead... he was on guard duty.

"Peter, I know you're looking for action," Wanda said with an amused smirk, "but we need to fix the fabric of reality first. This isn't about fighting—it's about restoring order."

Peter sighed but nodded.

"Alright, alright... but I'm gonna check out the prisoners down there. Maybe I can get some multiversal stories out of them."

With that, he disappeared down the stairwell.

Finn watched him leave and shook his head. "That kid just loves thrills."

Wanda smirked. "That's why Tony recruited him into the Avengers."

She stretched, revealing a glimpse of her toned midsection. "I'll start searching in the library. Every Sanctum has hidden knowledge—maybe we'll find a way to fix this."

Finn hesitated. "There are spells in the Darkhold that could rewrite reality."

Wanda's expression darkened. "No. The Darkhold's price is too steep."

He nodded. "You take the left wing, I'll take the right."

Secrets of the Library

The Sanctum Sanctorum's library was eerily silent, except for the ticking of an ancient clock.

Finn wandered through the dimly lit shelves, scanning the spines of forgotten tomes.

His fingers traced an old book titled "The Four Seasons Spell".

"Interesting..." he murmured.

The spell, as its name suggested, could manipulate the seasons—changing weather, climate, and natural forces. Doctor Strange had attempted to master it once... and failed spectacularly.

As Finn turned the pages, he suddenly froze.

A shadow stood at the far end of the aisle.

A familiar figure.

Wanda.

But something felt off.

"Didn't you go to the left wing?" he asked cautiously.

The Wanda in front of him gave a slow smile, her eyes gleaming with something unreadable.

"I came to see you," she said, stepping forward.

Something in her voice sent a chill down Finn's spine.

Finn instinctively took a step back.

"You're not my Wanda," he said firmly.

The Scarlet Witch from another universe chuckled, a seductive smirk on her lips.

"My Finn is so smart this time."

Finn clenched his fists. Last time, he hadn't realized it was her until it was too late.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded. "This is the Sanctum Sanctorum. You know Strange's sorcerers are watching."

The other Wanda tilted her head. "Are you... worried about me?"

Finn felt the air grow heavy.

This wasn't his Wanda.

This was the Wanda who had massacred Kamar-Taj in another universe.

"Don't worry," she whispered. "In my world, Kamar-Taj was nothing but ashes when I was done."

The sheer coldness in her voice sent a shiver down Finn's spine.

"You need to leave," he said, keeping his stance firm.

But before he could react—

She disappeared.

And then—

A pair of slender arms wrapped around him from behind.

"Finn..."

The warmth of her body pressed against him, and her voice trembled with emotion.

Finn stiffened.

This wasn't his Wanda.

"Let go," he said, trying to pull away.

Her grip tightened.

"You told me to move on," she whispered against his ear. "But I can't."

Finn felt a sharp pang in his chest.

This wasn't his Scarlet Witch.

This was a Wanda who had lost everything.

"I already have a Wanda," he said, his voice steady but gentle.

Her fingers curled against his chest.

"...You can have two," she murmured.

Finn choked.

"What?!"

The alternate Wanda chuckled darkly. "Relax, I'm joking."

Her fingers trailed over his collarbone.

"But you... are mine."

Finn pulled away sharply, finally breaking her hold.

He turned around, prepared to face her head-on—

And then—

A familiar voice echoed from behind him.

"Finn... who are you talking to?"
