Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 279: Way Back Home
[RANIA]
Twenty minutes.
That was all that Kaia Seto had been given by Rania and that was all he had taken, not a minute later. However, what he had portaled through with, was something that the whole of Incayon would never forget.
It wasn’t a sight they had gotten used to daily and it certainly wasn’t something that they could figure out and fix in one setting. That was a lot, even for them, and as the hybrids stood there with their retrievals, Rania had to excuse herself to puke her guts out.
The sight was more than disgusting and no matter how they wanted to put it, it was crazy, shameful, and insane on all levels.
"What the fuck?" Paloma asked after a short silence. She had never imagined that this was possible but as she watched the hybrids and their smirking leader, clearly impressed by what they had done.
"It took exactly twenty minutes, Haru. I promised, and I kept my promise," Kai said cheerfully like that was supposed to make his brother look at him any differently. Then again, Han would always love his brother, whether he was a beast, a bastard, or even a psycho.
There wasn’t a thing in the world that Han Seong wouldn’t do for his brother, but damn.
Standing there, Han knew he wasn’t even in a position to ask what had happened, because he had seen it all. Those were some of the perks of his brother turning his humanity off. He always wanted Han to see who he was and what he had become.
However, right now, Han Seong wasn’t sure if he needed to be happy his brother was back, or be sad at the state of the royals. Goddess, they looked like shit.
"Yeah, brother. You did well," Han said, a smirk playing on his lips.
He loved what he was seeing but for the sake of his friends, he wasn’t going to say anything.
He had wanted to do this to the royal family, ever since he knew what they had done to Rani. It was satisfying seeing them beaten and bruised and if Han wished, Kaia would just smack them into oblivion too.
"Don’t worry, they are not dead. You said to bring them back, you didn’t say they needed to be back healthy and untouched," Kaia said as he helped Rania up.
The woman couldn’t believe that this had truly happened.
To some extent, she loved that she didn’t have to dirty her hands all the time, but goddess, this was insane even for her. However, she couldn’t deny that this was perfection at its best, for the moment anyway.
"Oh great. In that case, they can walk themselves to the dungeons, no?" Rania asked as she walked over to where the royals were. They had swollen everything, and their bones were broken too. They looked like whatever was left once a landmine took out an entire region.
At Rania’s question, Dalrae had to do a double take at her best friend to make sure she wasn’t really hallucinating and that this was really her sister, Rania asking that question.
Anyone with eyes could see that it would certainly be difficult for the royals to even get up, let alone walk themselves to the dungeons. They had broken bones all over and while they had started healing, there was no telling how long that would take before their bodies gave out.
They were in so much pain.
"I’m sorry, what?" Dalrae voiced when she realized that maybe, just maybe something had finally snapped in Rania. Then again, she had snapped years ago when she had lost everything even though she had it all.
She had nothing in the midst of everything and that had ruined her in so many ways.
Clearly, it had fucked with her humanity too, because she only ever cared about the people who were in her circle, and that was a very dangerous position for her to take, especially with all happening so fast.
"I... We may or may not have broken all their bones. It might take them a while to even lift a finger. They don’t look that bad though, right?" Raqeeb asked, his eyes glistening with hope and sinister desires as he looked at the four royals.
It was like he wanted to do more damage, but he needed to be sure that they had done the right thing. Even if they hadn’t, it was a little too late for callbacks anyway. The royals were about to have a long- ass day anyway.
"Nope. You should have made the hybrid bitch bow worse than that though. Anyway, use your magic to command them to walk to the dungeons. No one is to help them. Anyone who helps them is an enemy to our course.
"I just want to focus on my birthday which is in a few hours. How exciting, right, Lim Lim?" Rania asked and Dalrae felt her heart break for her very bren sister.
Someone needed to do something.
Someone had to get through to her, but then would that someone be Kaisei Chihiro, or Chang Wook whose jaw was on the floor from what he was hearing and seeing? Or would that someone be Han or even Paloma?
There was no hope within the team. But maybe they could consider outside help, right? Then again, which outside help could they seek? If she went to Luna Kim, Rania would never talk to her again.
If she went to the alpha, Rania would probably banish her in betrayal.
If she went to Jihoon, there was no assurance that Jihoon would even agree, considering they had lied to the man and forced him to stay in the dungeons while his family was somewhere out there, trying to make ends work.
It was all just crazy, so Dalrae smiled at her sister, like that was supposed to be the best thing that they both experienced.
Truly pain had a way of creating the worst of monsters.
"As you wish, little wolf," Kaia responded enthusiastically as he looked at the royals who were pleading with their eyes.
Jungwoo looked like he was so close to passing out, and if Kaia did as Rania wished, then there was a chance that he would be in worse pain. How much more pain could they endure anyway?
Then again, Oshita had died, and Odelia was still missing.
The royals being in pain wasn’t even compensation enough for the lives that had been taken and ruined. It was just not enough and Rania felt the rage in her rise once again.
She was mad at her best friend for betraying her.
She was pissed that Jungwoo, despite knowing how much Rani’s team meant to her, had decided to ruin that.
"Rani–" Jungwoo breathed out, only to be shut by a kick to the ribs from one of the hybrids. He looked like he wasn’t even in a position to hear the crown prince talk.
At first, the misfits were surprised, but the longer they stared at the hybrid, the longer they realized that he had seen what happened to Oshita and he couldn’t help because Oshita had insisted that he had to do that alone.
"Get out of here," Rania said to the royals once Kaia cast his spell on them. They couldn’t leave and had to find their way to their new dungeons, by themselves.
Oh, it was humiliating as fuck.
"Show’s over people. Let’s get back to prepping for my grand birthday," Rania said excitedly.
