Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 285: Protect Her, Or We Will
[KAIA]
"You’re not answering me, Jaharu. I thought you came out here to help me. But if you’re not going to. You might as well come back in and let me keep going at my crazy theories.
"Perhaps the moon goddess will curse me even more and my life would be delightful as fuck. So what is it going to be this time?" Kaia asked sternly. He was desperate and the fact that he was feeling the urge to find a beloved he and t even found, was driving him nuts.
"You are cursed, but you do have a beloved because the goddess finally found a use for your brutality, Hiro," Jaharu said softly as she looked at the man before him.
There were days when Kaia had been pure evil, days when all he could think of was how he would strangle the next person who talked shit about his brother or the next person who tried to make Haru’s life difficult.
Those were the days that Kaia had been the happiest and he’d be damned if he would ask it over and over again. But for now, he needed to be sure about his beloved he needed to know what the hell he was to do.
"Thanks for stating the obvious, genius," Kaia said, and Jaharu facepalmed.
This was not going to be easy but he had already expected that, so it wasn’t going to be much of a challenge anyway. Kaia was not being feral, he was just worried about emotions he didn’t know how to deal with.
"You really are like Jahiro. Anyway before you start giving me answers that I don’t need, we are a few seconds from midnight. And you will know who she is. Patience, Kaisei, patience," Jaharu said and Kaia sighed.
He wasn’t sure who that person would be but he had a guess and he wasn’t sure he loved the idea or was crazy and as much as Kaia was a beast, he had seen and learned what love was, what love looked like, and what love meant.
With the misfits, he had learned a lot and he could pretend about that. But he wouldn’t deny that the idea of a beloved was stirring him differently.
"It’s her, isn’t it? She’s the only one who would need someone as powerful as me for a beloved. She’s the only one whose abilities would match mine and who would complement my powers, isn’t she?
"That’s why you confidently came out, because you had to be the one to break the news, right?" Kaia asked as he looked at Jaharu.
It was like he was desperate for information, desperate to make sure that whatever happened wouldn’t affect them or maybe it would, but it was already in motion. Nothing he did right now would ever make it easier on him because this was happening regardless.
"Well, you did ask the goddess thousands of years ago, for someone stronger, someone who’s more powerful, and one who isn’t scared of danger. She is that someone, Kaisei. She is the one who can do that. You know that.
"You have lived with her in secret from the day you found out about her so why are you hesitant?" Jaharu asked and Kaia once again got up to pace.
He wanted to deny what Jaharu was saying and he wanted to hide away. But Kaia knew it was pointless. He knew that there was a war that was coming one larger than what they were fighting and to win it they would need each other.
However, would that really be the real reason for it?
"This wasn’t how I wanted to tell her I cared—" Kaia tried but Jaharu interrupted him.
He had known Kaia for so long and he knew how easy it was for Kaisei to make a run from emotions. This was something that he had to face regardless and the sooner he embraced that truth, the sooner everything would come to fruition.
"No, Kaisei, love doesn’t have a plan. You have to face it, because you already know who she is," Jaharu insisted as Kaia stared blankly at him and he wondered if this was really going to be worth it.
So many things were happening in Incayon and he sure hoped that this wouldn’t be what he was thinking.
But what if it was?
"Treat her well, or Jahiro and I will fight you for her. All the best Kaisei," Jaharu said before knocking the psycho unconscious and going back into his body.
"Great, just leave me without answers will you?" Kaia said angrily to himself when he regained consciousness and woke up confused.
He then kicked the nearest chair, making it hit against the wall so hard that it created a dent, but that wasn’t Kaisei’s concern at the moment.
He hated what he was feeling and he felt insufficient. He felt like there had to be a mistake in the pairing and he dispersed the fact that he couldn’t even be a saint for her. He had always been a devil that she knew and nothing would ever change that.
Especially since she had always seen him in action.
Goddess, this would be so hard for Kaia.
Defeatedly, he sat on his bed, thinking of the possible way he would be able to face this, but then that didn’t even last long because he felt his heart constricting so much he could feel the breath being sucked out of him.
It was so cruel that for a moment, he wondered if this was how he died.
He had never felt this and he had never thought it was even possible for him, and yet as he was there, he felt like the world was suddenly darkening and nothing was worth holding onto anymore.
"Haru!" Kaia called out to his brother, the only person who could make him feel like this. If someone tried to hurt his brother, he would make their lives so difficult the deities would have to appeal for mercy from him.
He would bring everything down, but first, he needed to confirm that his brother was okay.
"Jahiro, take over and fucking find Haru this instant!" Kaia said to his cruelest beast yet, ignoring the pleas by Jharu to first take a breather. It wasn’t ideal to make rash decisions, but Kaia’s beast didn’t hesitate.
After all, it had been years since he had almost let Jahiro take over and that was a time when Kaia had been so angry that his beast had to come out to control the situation.
Oh, but Kaia was worse than his beasts, though right now, it wasn’t exactly certain what he was hoping to get from letting his worst beast come out.
"With pleasure. It has been a while," Jahiro said as he took over Kaia’s body, and began healing Kaia of the pain. It was important because otherwise, Kaia would be incapacitated and none of them would be able to do anything, supposing Haru was truly in danger.
"Yanagida Haruhito!" Jahiro called out as he sniffed around.
He could hear the commotion outside, but that wasn’t important to him. His brother was, and no matter what happened, he wasn’t going to let anyone say or do anything to Haru.
However, when he got out, he was in absolute shock.
And that almost never happened to Jahiro.
