Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 288: Broken Hearts Were All They Had [2]
[RANIA]
For a ruthless uncultured whose humanity was supposed to be off, Jahiro seemed to forget to pretend about his humanity switch flipping on again because he was literally crying out in pain, shouting for anyone who would listen to come and help them fix this.
The desperation in his voice was so intense that even the moon that had been shining suddenly disappeared and the skies got dark in an instant.
The winds suddenly blew and the night that had been a little warmer, and had grown so cold that it was near-impossible for them to be here any longer.
One by one the wolves made their way back to the shelters, thanks to Dalrae and Paloma forcing them to leave. then m staging her and watching Rania’s body burn wasn’t something that they could help with.
None of this should have happened and yet it had.
"Haru... My magic, it’s useless against this. I can’t even put out the fire," Jahiro said to his brother who had been trying to make this fix with him. All of this was cruel, especially because it was happening on her birthday.
Couldn’t this have happened even a day before?
Or even never?
"Al-Raqeeb!!" Jahiro growled out and the hybrid leader knew that his time had finally come. He had felt the pain that they were feeling and frankly, it hurt so much that he was already wishing there was a different way for him out of this
And if Jahiro killing him was the only way out then he would let that happen.
He wasn’t ready to face the cruel reality of the world that did have Kim Rania. That would be an empty work, one that would be uncontrollable and a word that would be ruled by people who were in so much pain.
That was quite an unfair position for them all. But would it really matter right now?? This had already happened and nothing would ever make it better, right?
"Make way and stop trying to put out the fire. You will actually kill her, if you keep at it" Luna Kim suddenly said, her voice so stern as she looked at the misfits, daring them to say anything to her about her daughter.
She had watched the world mourn for the kid have loved and she was watching her daughter burn and yet she was even shocked. For a woman who had been so protective of her little girl right now, it seemed like there wasn’t much she was interested in doing.
And that was crazy.
"Stay away from her," Chang Wook warned and Luna Kim just let out a chuckle like she knew something that they didn’t.
Of course, she had to have known because no mother would be that confident and calm while her daughter burned to a crisp. It was taking something that she loved so much and ditching it just because she could, and that wasn’t going to help.
"No matter what either of you want to say or even have in mind, none of you can change the fact that the girl lying here is my daughter, warrior. I know her better than you do, and more than any of you would ever be able to comprehend in one sitting.
I know my children better than any of you do. Now make way," Luna Kim said and Chang Wook looked at his mother; the hope in his eyes was obvious, and the desperation to have his little sister back was so evident.
He looked like he would give anything to get the girl back, but would it ever be enough that she would be black?
Was there even a guarantee that she would be back? There were so many questions, but the conclusions remained the same. Kim Rania was a goner and her friends needed to find a way to accept that.
"C... can you fix her?" Dalrae asked desperately like she was more than willing to do whatever it took. Of course, she was, this was her sister she was talking about and she wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever it took for her.
"Everyone step back, " Luna Kim said and the misfits looked at her like she had grown another head. She wasn’t really expecting them to leave her with the girl she had failed to protect right?
They weren’t going to make Rania a victim of her mother’s rejection again.
’I guess this is the last we shall see of her,’ Jaharu said to Jahiro who was staring at Luna Kim as she tried to make way to her daughter.
She looked like she had lived a short life as the moon goddess’s sister, but just like every creature in the realm, she had to have had a purpose.
Perhaps her daughter was her purpose and if she managed to revive Rania then this would be it for her. Instead of responding to the second beast in him. Jahiro just stared openly, before he heard his brother’s voice, the same brother who was always calm during tense situations.
Well, there was nothing calm about Han right now and Jahiro would have loved it, if only his brother was in pain and worried sick for the safety of the woman who was hurting and burning. It was just wild.
"Whatever you have to do, you have five minutes or you will have to leave. And we are not leaving," Han voiced out coldly, his threat slicing through the cold night, reminding their friends that while Han may have been friendly, he was just as deadly as his brother.
He wasn’t about to let the woman have her way with his friend.
"I won’t hurt her," Luna said as the fire dimmed down. It was crazy but then they didn’t have a say anyway. Maybe Rania wasn’t dead, right? But then the blast that had occurred scared everyone in the pack.
"You talk of her like she is still alive,’’ Dalrae voiced slowly as she watched her best friend lying there. She wanted to hug Rania and apologize for any and everything that happened.
