Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 289: The Shock Of A Lifetime
[RANIA]
"Whatever you have to do, you have five minutes or you will have to leave. And we are not leaving," Han voiced out coldly, his threat slicing through the cold night, reminding their friends that while Han may have been friendly, he was just as deadly as his brother.
He wasn’t about to let the woman have her way with his friend.
However, there was something worth noting in all of this. The fact that Kim Rania’s death had managed to switch Jahiro’s humanity back on, spoke volumes about the bond that the two friends had always had.
No one really knew how Rania and Jahiro had met, or even what their agenda with each other truly was, and what the both of them were hoping to get from each other.
However, they all knew that Kim Rania was so important to Jahiro and he would do whatever it took to make sure Rania was okay.
Dead or not, Jahiro was determined to get his best friend back. Hell, he was more than ready to bargain with the goddess to bring his friend back.
If Luna Kim failed at what she was doing, then Jahiro would make a choice that many would consider insane. He didn’t have options, but was that it really, or was there something that they both didn’t want anyone to know about them?
Jahiro only ever committed to his brother and when he had promised to help Rania with her vengeance, there was never a guarantee that Jahiro would always listen to Kim Rania without raising questions.
"I won’t hurt her," Luna said as the fire dimmed down. It was crazy but then they didn’t have a say anyway. Maybe Rania wasn’t dead, right? But then the blast that had occurred scared everyone in the pack.
"You talk of her like she is still alive,’’ Dalrae voiced slowly as she watched her best friend lying there. She wanted to hug Rania and apologize for any and everything that happened.
Dalrae was more than ready to give up her life for her best friend. She was willing to make the impossible possible and she wished there was anything she could do.
"Because she is not dead. She is just transitioning," Luna Kim said so casually though there was pride in her voice like this was the time she had been waiting for. She looked like her daughter coming back to life would be the best.
And while it really would be, Jahiro couldn’t help but feel a little terrible for the moon goddess’s sister. But then again, Luna Kim wasn’t meant to be there.
There were so many secrets, most of which could alter the functioning of any pack and if she opened her mouth, then a pandora would be opened.
Besides, the Luna wasn’t exactly good at keeping secrets, especially for the people that she despised. And maybe that was why her sister had decided that her time here was up. But was it really?
"The fuck does that even mean?" Dalrae asked and the luna just sighed before responding. Perhaps this would be a new beginning for the sisters of a lifetime.
This would give them a chance to lead a new life, right? But what life would that be when Rania had managed to quench only a bit of her anger towards everyone else? She was always in a lot of pain, always.
"She can’t die. So relax," Luna Kim said as she looked at her daughter whose pretty eyes were now closed. The luna walked slower to Rania, as she fixed the stray hair that had found its way on her daughter’s face.
Rania managed to look so pretty even with her condition and that was something that they had to appreciate. But for what? Would her beauty bring her back to life? Because of that, they were more than willing to make her prettier than most.
"What does that mean?" Paloma asked carefully. She didn’t know what else to expect really. Of course, I had a feeling that Rania was special, but this was so different.
Hearing the luna so confident that her daughter was alive had to be the creepiest thing that Paloma had ever encountered, though it wasn’t even getting any better, especially given it was the middle of the night and they all looked like they were on a fucking vigil.
"It means just that, Paloma. Now can you guys move back so I can help my daughter with her new abilities? Oh and thank you, Raqeeb," the Luna said to the horrified hybrid who was scared shitless of everything.
He had made a mistake, one so costly that he knew Jahiro would kill him for it.
He couldn’t run and he couldn’t hide, because no one had ever succeeded in outrunning Jahiro Seto. It was impossible and that much was obvious even to people who had just heard the rumors of Jahiro.
"What?" Raqeeb asked meekly as he stood before his raging mate. Jahiro was never going to forgive him for this.
"I know you didn’t mean to, but thanks to you, she will never be hurt by anyone again. You saved my dear daughter. Even if she kills me when she wakes up, I will die a happy mother," Luna Kim said and Chang Wook looked at his mother like the woman was bonkers.
What the fuck did she even mean?
Sure, he wasn’t on good terms with his mother, but what was he supposed to do when the woman was giving them hope that his sister was alive?
There was no telling who was playing with whom, but hope was all they had and needed.
Which was why the misfits stepped back and let Luna deal with the situation.
"Arise, my little Rani," Luna Kim said to her daughter who didn’t even seem responsive.
The fire had made Rania look like she was at a crematorium. The desperation they had all had was something they would never forget. There was no feeling differently with that and it was obvious.
None of them had expected that this would ever come to light.
’The fuck?’ Jahiro asked and Jaharu just snickered at his fellow beast.
This all seemed so new but it wasn’t. It was all to be expected because there was just no way that the Luna would be the sister of the goddess, and that powerful only for her daughter to be reduced to ashes just like that.
’Well isn’t that one hell of a beloved,’ Jaharu said and for a moment, Jahiro stiffened. He wasn’t sure if Haru’s beast was talking about Luna Kim because that would be crazy and unhinged on so many levels.
Hell, he may have been crazy but not this kind of crazy.
"She is crazy," Dalrae whispered defeatedly as she watched Luna say a bunch of things to her daughter, who was still in the same state. If they didn’t know any better they could have concluded that Luna Kim was easily the most useless of mothers right now.
However, something was happening.
Kim Rania was responding to her mother, which was not what they had anticipated. For a woman they had seen die, she sure didn’t look dead when she started waking up.
Well, they would have confirmed it themselves, otherwise, they would be singing the same song of retribution, just that this time, they would be hating other women on their list. Was it ever going to be worth it though?
"Lim Lim?"
