Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 290: May Our Paths Never Cross
[RANIA]
"Lim Lim?" Rania whimpered when her best friend’s scent hit her. She had been on her way out of Incayon when she was stabbed and sliced through. After that, she couldn’t remember anything and Rania felt herself rage for a moment there.
She would have been able to leave, and yet she was here, stuck on the ground, with voices around her like they already knew that Jihoon had told her that they weren’t mates. But did they really?
No one had even been able to comprehend the situation just yet and they all seemed to be lost in their thoughts, wondering how this could have happened and more than anything, how she had been dead, and she was alive now.
Not to mention the question of what she was doing in the middle of the night to make the warriors think that she was a runner like Yanna Petrova.
There were so many questions and they got more with each breath that Rania took.
They just needed to be careful with how they expressed themselves because Rania looked like she could murder someone or even the first person who dared to ask her a question.
It wasn’t what she wanted and yet as she lay there, feeling like her back was broken, and her head hurting as hell, Rania wished that everything would just stop.
Her life was slowly turning into a circus and while she wasn’t sure what the heck had really happened to her, she knew that there would be some long explanation as to why she wasn’t away from Incayon yet.
That could also be added to the reasons why despite her eyes being closed and her being unable to open them, she could see someone who looked like her mother standing over her a little too clearly. It was creepy.
Then again, it wasn’t daily that this happened and the fact that her mother, of all the people, was standing over her had to mean that she had been the one who attacked her.
Rania wasn’t sure how she had gotten to this point, but her mother was all the suspects she needed because this woman had fucked up her life more than once.
The woman had taken everything away from her in ways that she wasn’t even ready to face yet. She had made her into the monster that everyone got to know of, and there was a chance that she already knew Rania was mateless and wouldn’t have anything else.
It was one thing to be mated to Jihoon and be rejected, but this time, Rania felt like the fates had been the ones who had rejected her.
She had no one to call her own. No one to even think of.
She had nothing to hold her back or even help her move, and that hurt a lot. So much has happened to her and it still seemed insufficient.
Suppose she was to make a choice to run, she wouldn’t ever be able to, because she could hear familiar voices. Voices that sounded like the people she had been about to disappoint today.
Maybe she was cursed, because what other explanation was there for what had happened to her?
Just how the fuck was she to explain that she didn’t want to be the mateless alpha of incayon, the girl that and been rejected by the fates one too many times, and the girl who wanted out, from all of this??
Her anger was justified in every way and she wanted to let it out.
Perhaps if she was going to be cursed by the fates, she could as well, take someone along with her, no?
’Why am I even here?’ Rani asked herself for the hundredth time as she tried to pry her eyes open, again.
Her head was hurting so bad and she could feel her veins pop with every attempt she made at trying to gauge her reality. It was like she was in some loop, one that she would never truly ever be free from.
It sounded like a loop of hell and frankly, that scared the living shit out of her.
’Am I dead?’ Rania spoke again as she struggled to get up.
She had heard her mother call to her, in a voice so unfamiliar like this was the first time they had met.
To Rania, Luna Kim sounded like the mother who would move the earth and everything in it if that was her daughter’s wish.
But Rania just knew how impossible that was, which was so unsettling and made her question everything that she was experiencing at the moment.
’Did she put me in this state? Was she the one who stabbed me? And why don’t I feel any pain? What the fuck did she do to me? What is happening?’ Rani asked herself, the panic in her mind so obvious to her.
She wished the world would just let her be, but at the same time, she had a feeling that this was going to be one of the hardest things that she would ever have to do.
Whatever was left for her, was madness and the sooner she faced her truth, the sooner all of this would be done with.
Then again, what was Kim Rania’s truth?
"What?" Rania asked when she managed to open her eyes and see her mother who was standing over her.
The positioning itself was uncertain and made Rania feel like her mother was a threat to her. She had always been so clear today wasn’t going to be any different.
It was going to be hard explaining just what had happened, but what else was there for the girl with a broken heart and a family she wasn’t sure she would be able to keep anymore?
"She’s awake!" Dalrae piped up excitedly as she saw her worn-out best friend.
She could tell that there was going to be a need for a lot of sleep after this, but no matter what happened, Lim Dalrae was more than willing to make things right for Rani.
It didn’t matter that there would be a lot of craziness involved, because no matter what happened, there was never going to be a chance that they would change for the worst, right?
But what could be worse than their current positioning?
Even then, Kim Rania couldn’t figure out what the heck had transpired. She couldn’t see her friends, but she could smell their scents, and that seemed hopeful to her. It was like her version of what heaven looked like and it was heartwarming.
Perhaps there was a chance for them, right? It wasn’t hard to know they were around, especially Dalrae, since Rania and Dalrae had always been like a unit, an inseparable one for a fact and it wasn’t an uprising that she had thought of her sister first.
"This bitch," Rania said angrily before she grabbed her mother towards her and wrung her neck, making sure to break it without thinking twice. It came so naturally for her that for a moment, Rania wondered if she had finally become the psycho that people ran from.
It wasn’t clear why she had done that to her mother, but goddamn, there was only one thing that could confirm that a man had lost his mate. And it was the loud howl of Alpha Kim in the distance.
"What just happened?"
