Chapter 299: In Which Love Had Beautiful Memories [3]

[RANIA]

Kaia and Rania were left behind, as the hybrids, rogues, and incayon warriors created a formation around them. It was a security system for the two most powerful creatures ever born to Obren and even their world.

Funny how they were immortal and didn’t need it and yet they still had the additional layer of protection. Then again, it was something that was non-negotiable right now. This was Rania’s special day and they would make sure that no one fucked it up.

It didn’t matter who was more powerful than the other, because right now. This was Rania’s special day and they would make it a reality, come hell or high water. The beauty of this all was that Rania had smiled and shed tears at the sight.

The sincerity today was wholesome; you would think that Rania had had this type of ceremony her whole life when this was the first time that she felt like she belonged.

The universe was a lot of things, but Rania knew that this was the beginning of an end to other pain, and for that, she was always going to be thankful. She had no reason to be sad and she was glad.

"Come, my beloved. Let’s enjoy the night," Kaia said as he looked into Rania’s eyes. Suddenly it was just the two of them in their world.

Everyone else seemed to fade in the distance. They were making small and calculated steps as the music got louder and the cheers too.

The people of Incayon were happy for them and the warriors were doing well, marching before, beside, and after the two immortals. Even then, Rania couldn’t help but feel an emptiness with her.

Most people celebrated their birthdays with their parents and yet here she was, alone with strangers and people who wouldn’t hesitate to make her life a horror. She knew that it wasn’t going to be always and her heart hurt with how everything had turned out.

She imagined her mother walking her down the long aisle to the ceremony.

She imagined her father smiling at her and being proud of her.

She had so many imaginations, most of which came from her side as the girl of the day. But even then.

She knew that most of that would simply remain a fantasy for her whole life had been turned upside down and nothing would make it better for a little longer.

And sadly, not even her birthday celebration would take away that emptiness. It was haunting her and making her feel a lot of things.

She had murdered her mother and her father was an obvious no-show, a reminder that this was just how her life had been fucked up.

Rania wondered if she would have just stayed away. Perhaps she wouldn’t have gone through all this, Perhaps her mother would still be alive and she would not be alone at all.

Maybe if she hadn’t been so mad at her mother last night, she would have been able to accept her help. She hated that she had grown stronger by losing her mother and it broke her even if she wasn’t about to tell that to anyone.

It was hectic and she couldn’t come clean. But the man beside her could feel the turmoil she was going through. Kaia could feel the guilt she was having and he could tell that this wasn’t exactly how she had imagined all of this.

But what else was there for them? They had to go through with this, otherwise, they would never go through the doors of justice.

Kaia knew that nothing would be okay, especially after the ceremony today.

The moment the realm would know that Kaisei Seto was mated to the psycho alpha, they would try to instigate attacks and it wasn’t exactly as formatting. But Kaia didn’t want to think of that, not right now anyway.

"You’ll never be alone, again, ever," Kaia softly whispered to Rania as they walked with the warriors.

His hand was entwined in hers and the mount of parks between them was insane.

They had held their hands a few times before, but there had been nothing of the sort. But right this instant, they could feel like their bodies were about to explode from the happiness and the joy of meeting the right person.

There were two halos on their heads, a symbol of power and unity, a reminder that this was the goddess’s best union.

Oh, but it was quite the union, one that would always have challenges, but one that they would be able to face together. None of this was as scary as the fact that they had accepted each other.

It would have been easier to absorb if they faced the reality that they were both too powerful to be together, but that didn’t even seem like the case right now.

"And you too, Kai. You’ll never be alone. Always," Rania responded softly as they walked to the ceremony.

The closer they got, the louder the cheers became and the happier everyone was. The warriors had eventually made way for the couple of the night, who walked towards their friends at the podium.

They looked so pure and lovely it was a different touch to what everyone had gotten used to.

"This is so beautiful," Rania acknowledged the closeness she got to the ceremony.

It was out of her expectations and the fact that it seemed to be getting warmer when she walked in, made her feel like this was really a ceremony for her. But then wasn’t it that anyway? This was all for her and in her honor.

It was what she deserved, though she would always feel undeserving of most and the kindness that she received. But that didn’t matter right now, right? All she could do was be happy that this was happening to her.

"A ceremony fit for my beloved. Don’t think of anything else, moya krushka. Just think of yourself today. This is your day, and you deserve it. I like the smile on your face and I would do whatever it takes to make sure that it doesn’t fade.

"I swear my little wolf," Kaia said as he looked into Rania’s eyes. He loved what he was seeing and he always wanted to see her happy.

"Thank you, Kai. This is more than I had imagined. I don’t know how to thank you, and my friends for this. It just seems so surreal and like a dream," Rania admitted and Kaia chuckled.

He wanted her to always be happy and if this was what he needed to do for her, then he would always do that without a second thought.

He didn’t care what he had to do for her because, at the end of the day, he would always be beside her fighting for her, and never fighting her. After all, she was his light anyway.

"No. Thank you, Rani. You are the best thing that ever happened to me and I wouldn’t trade you for anything else. I don’t know much about mate bonds, but I swear in my life that I will always be there for you.

"Always," Kaia said proudly and Rania just leaned into him, trusting him.

Perhaps not everything was about to end badly right?

If only.
