Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 300: In Which Love Had Beautiful Memories [4]
[RANIA]
When they got to the ceremony, everyone stood up to show respect for the alpha of Incayon and her new mate. Even the king and his queen stood up for him. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
There wasn’t a thing they could do about it, but there was also no denying that happiness was something that had evaded Kim Rania for years on end. Everyone was aware of the story of the girl who had lost everything for a home so ungrateful.
They knew the take of the girl who never had anyone in her corner save for her sister and the friends she had accumulated over the years. They knew her sad tales, but none of them had ever seen her happy.
And that made the night very special.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Daehyun had asked his brother earlier when they received the news that Kaia and Rania were mates.
Of course, that had been the most unsettling of news in the damn dungeon after the fact that Kim Rania was no longer mated to the Calindra alpha.
There had been expectations that Rania would end up mateless for all she had done and yet instead of that happening, the universe had managed to pair the worst together.
Perhaps it was for the best, as they were two broken souls, both of whom had never felt the joy of being themselves. They had always been taking care of others, worrying about others, and never had anyone worry about them.
Finally, they would be able to care for each other like they had done for the others and that was probably something that they would always remember.
"Yes. She deserves to be happy, even if it’s not with me," Park Jihoon had said and Daehyun had rolled his eyes at the man.
Even to this point, Jihoon was still in love with Kim Rania then again, he couldn’t be blamed because he had fallen in love with her long before he knew they were mates. It wasn’t something that he could just turn off like that.
But then what else could he do at the moment?
How would he be able to make this a reality he could live in?
Life wasn’t being fair, but then Rania had faced the worst of the worst anyway. It was never an issue of what could happen, but what they had to face and accept.
"You let her go too easily. You should have held on, and fought for her," Daehyun had said and Jihoon hadn’t been sure what he was supposed to tell his brother.
Fate had been cruel enough to put the two mates against each other and nothing they would do would fix it for them.
Love had evaded them when they had hopes, their lives had been cruelly intertwined and there wasn’t a way to detangle it. But what was there for him at the moment?
"I know. Perhaps this is the only way to get her to be happy. I caused her so much pain and I can’t be selfish with her, not this time," Jihoon said and Daehyun had looked at him wondering what the fuck his best friend was on about.
"You didn’t—"
"It was the only way," Jihoon had responded, confirming his best friend’s thoughts on how Rania had ended up getting mated to Kaise i Seto. Jihoon had been the first to give up and the first to take the plea.
"You can’t be serious—"
"She’ll be safest with him. Besides, she is much stronger and much more powerful. No royal can harm her when she is with him," Jihoon had said, and his friend had just facepalmed in response.
Now that they could see Rania with Kaia holding hands and walking in Jihoon couldn’t help but just pray that he had made the right decision for Rania this time. His mate deserves someone better, someone who could help her in the fight against the royals.
Jihoon knew that the royals wouldn’t go down that easily and the fact that they were out here and free, meant that something would definitely happen. It wasn’t what anyone was thinking but Jihoon was so certain that the royals wouldn’t easily go down.
They had been in terrible states and Jihoon knew them well enough to know that they were planning their vengeance against Rania too.
It was going to be a long cycle and Rania wounded the best one of them all to help her through his. And as painful as it was for Jihoon to let go of the woman he had loved for eyes on end, this had been his final act of penance towards her.
He hoped that she would be happy and forget about him and the pain he had caused her. He hoped that this would be the best thing that ever happened to her, truthfully.
While Jihoon was busy with his ex-mate the best in life, the royals were thinking otherwise, especially Jeon Jungwoo. He hadn’t healed yet because of the debuting that he had received and he was harboring ill feelings against Rania.
His best find had subjected him to a fate so cruel, but then it wasn’t like he had done that to himself anyway.
Jungwoo wanted to see Rania suffer and he wanted to make sure that nothing would ever be right for her and Kaia. The fact that Raia was mated to Kaia had angered him so much he felt like he would combust with anger.
He couldn’t have speculated that the two people who had fucked him up and fucked his family up were bonded to each other and had even dragged him and his family to celebrate their stupid union.
It was something that Jungwoo wasn’t going to forgive. But then he had to have known that Kim Rania hadn’t come this far just to let go, right?
"This sight is sickening," Yanna said to her brother as she looked at Rania and Kaia. They looked so happy dancing to the music as their entrance was prolonged and they had all been standing for them.
They weren’t happy with this and Yanne herself had thought of the different ways of escaping here. She had thought of all the possible ways but all that had proven to be futile, given that Kaia, Chang Wook, and Han had created an impenetrable boundary.
It was one that not even the magic of the Valley of the whites could penetrate. This was the safest and most dangerous birthday party of all theism and Yanna knew that too. But that didn’t make her feel any better or even get her to wish Rania all the best.
All she wanted was her doom and more doom, and if she couldn’t get to Rania because of her fear, then she would find a way to make sure that they didn’t stay happy for long.
"Agreed. I feel like killing them and dumping their bodies in acid so they never get to see the light of day again," Jungwoo said sinisterly, his voice acting the attention on Kaiei Seto who turned to carefully look at the young prince, with cold eyes.
"No, Kai, don’t pay much attention to him. He wants that," Rania said to Kaia just in time to stop the barbarian from going to her ex-mate.
