Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 304: His Love, Her Light [2]
[Incayon, Today]
[RANIA]
Everyone listened as Rania told them of the first time she met Kaia and while she hadn’t gone deeper into the prospects of how the bond had developed, it was pretty obvious that theta had bonded over the years because of how broken they had been.
They were both people who wanted to be seen by others who wanted to be understood, people whose hearts had been shattered one too many times by the people they cared for and loved. They had been betrayed one too many times.
Granted, no one knew what Kaia Seto had been doing in Incayon that night, and he didn’t seem to want to tell a soul of it, many would just assume that he had come to look for Han Seong as warlocks from the valley of the whites were always invited to mating ceremonies of heirs and heiresses.
"So much happened in that period till today and I can only be thankful that we didn’t end up trying to kill each other then because there wouldn’t be a birthday to celebrate today anyway.
"Thank you, everyone," Rania said and they all just looked at her, wondering how the hell she had managed to get a man like Kaia.
Anyone would think that a psycho and another psycho were terrible for each other, but as they sat there, thinking of how tomorrow would be, they knew that this was one hell of a union.
"I’ll take a step back and let Han go on with the proceedings," Rania said and Han looked at her as if to ask her why she was throwing him under the bus. But then there wasn’t any elder that Rania trusted to make the malign proceedings for her.
Her father was somewhere in Incayon, probably plotting to take her life and her mom was dead by her hands. Her people were very skeptical, probably laughing just because they did have another option but to laugh at anything to save their lives.
The misfits, on the other hand, look like proud parents. They looked like this would have been the best day if Rania had a normal and complete family, but then she had a family that cared. At least that much was clear to her.
"May I?" Odelia’s voice came through, and for a moment the misfits thought they were all hallucinating.
They hadn’t heard from Odelia in three months and they had been hoping that she would return. Granted, she may have come a little later, but what mattered was that she was here for Kim Rania as she had always promised.
"You... You came?" Rania asked, clearly having not expected that this would be a reality for her.
They were here finally, the whole family.
Rania had the hope that Oshita was watching over her from the skies and with Odelia here, she didn’t have to worry about anything anymore. Her family was whole and the world could go fuck itself if anyone objected to this.
"Of course. I wouldn’t miss your birthday for anything in this world, sweetheart. Not even for my heartbreak," Odelia said, letting out a low growl at the last statement as she glared in Jungwoo’s direction as if to tell him that karma was here and they wouldn’t be getting off so easily.
"You look so beautiful today, love," Odelia said as she walked through the crowd and made it to where Rania was standing.
She looked gorgeous as fuck in her dress and Odelia could tell that too. This girl was what Rania had been, a girl who could only smile and smile and be happy over the years. She had grown up a happy child but fate itself had been a son of a bitch and a terrible bastard to her.
"I’m glad you’re here. I thought I would never see you again. You just left," Rania said earnestly, ignoring everyone who was at the ceremony, her focus being only on Odelia.
"I’m here now, Rani. And I’m not leaving, not until the mission is done. So don’t worry love, I am here to stay for as long as you want me to," Odelia said, pulling Rania into a hug when she finally made it to her.
It was a beautiful sight that made the misfits look like they were experiencing a surge of happiness. But wasn’t that the truth?
This was something they had been wishing for the past months and now that they finally got Odelia back home, there wouldn’t be a thing on the face of the earth that would stop them from getting what they need and how they wanted it.
It was all just a matter of time for them.
"Come now. Let’s get your mate bond officiated alright."
"No tears today, kiddo. Today is about your happiness," Odelia said as she wiped Rania’s tears like a loving mother. She had always loved to take care of Rania and it was safe to say that she loved Rania more than anyone would ever be able to spell out for them.
"They’re tears of happiness, Odelia. I missed you so damn much."
"I know love, that’s why I won’t be leaving for a long time. Smile, kid, it’s your happy day," Odeia said to Rania before she turned to the misfits who were giving her a thumbs up.
They knew if they started interacting in their own little world here then the whole of Incayon and everyone in it would feel like they were out of place and that this wasn’t where they needed to be.
But where else could they be if not for there, right now with the family they had formed over the years?
"Moonbin sends his regards. He said Happy birthday, love," Odelia said and that was for Jungwoo’s attention. Granted, he knew that the misfits would never harm his mate, but the fact that she mentioned him here, had to mean something.
"Is he okay? Should I go for him? Does he need me?" Chang Wook instantly asked, not even holding back.
He loved Moonbin with all he had and didn’t have and he would protect him like he would protect Rani like siblings. While Moonbin wasn’t his sibling, he had been his best friend and brother for so many years it was hard not to worry for him.
"Easy there, warrior. He told me you would react like that," Odelia said with a laugh and Dalrae grabbed her mate and pulled him to her as if to tell him that this wasn’t the time. But then it had been months since they heard from Moonbin.
It was only right that Chang Wook was excited at the mention of his best friend, right?
"So, is he okay?" Chang Wook asked.
"Yes. He is very okay. He told me to tell you to hurry everything though because he misses his mate," Odelia said, the sincerity in her voice making itself known even as she looked at Jungwoo who was on the edge of his seat.
He looked like he was about to be compelled just to see his mate just once and Odelia understood him. But then he had also denied Odelia the chance to mate with Oshita, and for that, Odelia would never forgive him.
"Of course. After the ceremony, everything will be fine," Rania said and Chang Wook let out a knowing smile. He would see his brother again.
But would that be the same for Jungwoo? Would he live long enough to see his mate?
