Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 318: Name Your Price, Alpha
[OBREN]
"To put an end to Kim Rania’s madness," the vampire king said and Boksoon snorted in response.
This king was something else, but even then would she let him in? The man before her was their sworn enemy and now he was talking like they had the same goal? This is absurd and even she knew it, but maybe, just maybe, there was a better way out of this, right?
Well, even if there was, Boksoon wasn’t going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not with how delicate their current mission was.
It wasn’t something she was going to let happen and the sooner the king and his brother understood that, the sooner they would all get back to their lives and rights. There wasn’t a thing to go over with the man that had kidnapped their ocie for sixteen whole years.
But what if there was?
"Oh, yeah? Don’t you think you showed up a little too conveniently when our king was missing? When no one is there to guide the wolves or give them hope? You are some conniving bastards for a king, but then I wouldn’t blame you.
"With our king kidnapped, Obren may seem available for the taking. And that is okay, but you will have to go through all eight thousand of us warriors in this camp, if that is what you are targeting," Boksoon said casually before she looked at her people who had rallied.
They were ready to deal with these clowns if ever they had come to cause chaos. In fact, they weren’t going to ask questions, because they were in a time of war.
They would kill first and ask questions later. That was how paranoid Kim Rania had managed to get them. Maybe there was hope for them, right? Maybe beyond all this was the desire that someday there would be a better life for them?
"Well, if you put it like that, we sound like invaders. But even if we were to invade Obren, when have you ever seen a king without his aides?
"I don’t have an army coming with me and I don’t have anyone on this side of your realm," King Nathaniel said and this time, Boksoon let out a full-on laugh. If she were new to the tricks of war, then she would have bought this.
But then she knew this king.
She was aware of how tireless a man he was and she knew that King Nathaniel and his brother alone were the equivalents of an ultimate army. They were powerful and strong and they were the kinds of bastards that no one would ever want to cross.
Of course, they had their allies all over and it wouldn’t be surprising if they had people in Obren who told them of the situation. They were more dangerous alone than when they were with an army as was the state of any king.
It was unfortunate that their werewolf king wasn’t the same, right?
"Go back to Drarun, your Royal Highness. Trying to take over Obren just because we have a missing king won’t end well for you. You might be powerful, but there are only two of you against eight thousand warriors.
"I would like to believe that you will put up a fight, but we both know how this will end for you both. Go home, be with your whores, and dine with your people.
"Forget about the misfortunes of Obren like you forgot the repercussions when you took the prince, yeah?" Boksoon said it was not even obvious. Nate and his brother weren’t shocked by the response from Boksoon.
If anything, they had expected this because of the current standing of Obren. So they didn’t even want to think of anything other than the fact that their lives would definitely change for the better or worse than what they started. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
They didn’t have Yanagida to take to Seto, so that was a phone case. But they had made it this far. It was just a matter of time before they had to look for people who had the same ambition as them.
And what better team than this one which was determined to make their way to Invasion?
"Who is here?" Luna Park’s very bothered voice came through and the warriors all bowed to her and the alphas she had come with.
They looked like they were bored out of their brains, though their eyes were skeptical about the new people and they wanted to fight. They wanted to be ready for anything in case Rania had sent their misfits.
Of course, right now, Boksoon had already mindlinked her and told her that the vampire king had come here. It was something that she had been prepared for but damn, seeing the brothers was not what she had had in mind.
"Hello, Octavia. You look like shit, and yes I got your letter," Nate said and Luna Park looked at him as if that was supposed to make her excited that he had come, eventually.
This was bullshit and just like the enforcer, Luna Park wasn’t buying this shit. She had been to war once too many times before she had kids and she knew that nothing like this was normal.
The man with them was playing the long game and that in itself wasn’t what she had been thinking of.
"Nice play. But we both know you’re not here to respond to my call for help. It had been three months, Nate. Three months of radio silence and suddenly you got the guts to come with your brother on the side of the realm?
"I may not be the king but I know how to see bullshit from a distance," Luna Park said and Bai Ting stared in silence. He wasn’t sure if he was to say anything, but one thing he knew was that he felt terrible for the woman who had lost her family in the battle with Rania.
Theirs had been an ambush and one that no one expected. Sure, Rania had sent them a warning, technically Dalrae had been the one to send the call but none of them had imagined that Kim Rania would be accepted in Incayon and back on her alpha seat.
It was crazy and pitiful but Bai admired the fact that the woman before them had refused to be pinned down by the past. She had stayed up and was going to fight back which was admirable however late she had managed to come.
"I came here to find Kim Rania. She fucked with my vampires and I have come to remind her what it means to mess with my people. I know that doesn’t sound sensible to you at the moment, but I came to seek her out and then get my army over.
"I was on my way to the people’s palace when I—" Nate said as he went on to describe the events of the night to the werewolf alpha who was bored as hell.
He didn’t leave out any details and he made sure to explain why he wanted Rnaia dead.
Sure, he didn’t mention that he had come for his daughter, because he didn’t want to drag the werewolf queen through the mud, but he sure covered his bases well.
"Sounds like a touching story, but there’s many of us and two of you. Technically you are useless to me and my people," Luna Park said earnestly.
"I could send a raven if that is what it takes to get to join you."
