Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 320: The Bitter Pill For Them
[OBREN]
"Hold on, is it just me or are the skies handing a little too low today? Was there something that we missed out on? It’s already midnight, but was there something happening anywhere today?" Luna Park asked when she noticed how everything had changed.
This wasn’t what she had thought of, but then here they were.
They had been talking about their plans and how they would go up against Rania for the past hour when they noticed the changes.
Granted, they had been done with their discussion and had made an agreement that they would attack in the morning but right now, everything just seemed so out of place and it was like there was more to this than they could come to terms with.
Well, it was like there was about to be an apocalypse, right? Well, what if there was just that? What if this was one of the many things that they needed to be wary about? What is it?
"Perhaps someone is celebrating, though I didn’t see what could be that important for the stars to be hanging that low in the sky. It is creepy as hell," Bai Ting said and that got the attention of everyone.
There had been birthdays every day of the year, but none that impacted the skies that much.
"Was it because of the warlocks you came with?" Luna Park asked Brent. She didn’t have the time to sugarcoat anything.
Besides, the whole night had just been fine and now they were seeing this because the warlocks came right? Maybe this was a warning for Han Seong that they needed to steer clear of Inclusion and never try shit with them.
But was that really it?
"That sounds crazy, but well they aren’t exactly the cleanest warlocks in the realm. Perhaps it is just that," Bai Ting said, making it seem like this was just an anomaly that could be fixed. But what were the chances that this was fixable?
They all didn’t know what they were getting into here.
No matter what they wanted today, no matter how they wanted to make sure their plans were a success, they also had to acknowledge the fact that the few hiccups that they would be faced with, wouldn’t be going away anytime soon.
They would have to deal with that eventually.
"The birthday theory makes more sense. Besides, I heard Kim Rania was having her twenty-fifth birthday celebration tonight. We could just go there and ruin it for her. Well, tomorrow will just be another way to make her life a hell of a time.
"Besides we could take out her mate and let her suffer like she had left all the mateless wolves in pain over the past months. This could be her karma. We could be her karma," one of the warlocks said and Luna Park froze.
If Rania was having a birthday tonight, then it meant that her son would also be getting mated tonight. That wasn’t something she would rejoice about, because she knew for a fact that Rania and Jihoon were mated.
She knew that the kids may have hated each other, but that hadn’t been enough for the goddess to do away with their mate bond, even after everything.
It all just seemed crazy, but then with the plans they had made, would the Luna change that just because her son was mated to the psycho?
"That does sound like a good idea. Cripple her before she gets a chance to revel in the mate bond and have her blame herself for years on end. That will also drive her crazy and she would die from loneliness.
"Sounds like the perfect revenge for me," Bai said and they looked at him like he was not thinking what they all had in mind but couldn’t let out.
They knew not to fuck with the mate bond but perhaps the rules changed when it came to vampires, right? Well, that was something that they would have to try and sort out as soon as possible anyway.
"You seem disturbed, Octavia. What is it?" Nate asked, the sincerity in his voice obvious. He was worried for her, and he knew that she would think that he was ingenuine, but this was what he could do for her at the moment.
He would let himself be the shoulder she could lean on, at least until the war was over and they all went back to their lives. Perhaps this would be the start of an alliance between Calindra and Drarun, right?
"What are the consequences of breaking the mate bond between my son and Rania?" Luna Park asked Brent, ignoring the shock and gasps that came from the pack leaders and the vampires, not to mention the warlocks who had no clue what she was talking about.
Well, Brent did know that Rania and Jihoon were mated, but it hadn’t been his secret to tell so he had let it be. However, right now as the Luna asked him that question, he wondered if there was a different way out of this altogether.
It was crazy, having to go against the fates. It was a suicide on every level and yet the luna seemed determined to do it. Well, she couldn’t be blamed, because that woman had been the reason her husband had died.
Rania was also the reason why her son was away from home, not to mention the reason Daheyunw asnt home too. She didn’t want to think of a relationship between Jihoon and Rania because that would be the biggest fucked up twist that she got from the fates.
She deserved better. Her people deserved a better Luna than Rania.
Granted, Yanna had been a psycho, but she was the psycho that loved the Calindra wolves. Yanna had been the Luna that Validnra took pride in and no matter what happens,. That shouldn’t have changed in a long while.
"What the fuck s that even supposed to mean? How could Jihoon be mated to Rania when he had a mate, Yanna?
"I get that she was killed by Rania but goddamn, that has got to be some twisted bullshit there. Why would the goddess pair them with psycho kids?
"Even before the world got to heal from Yanna’s Second death?" one of the elders asked and Luna Park just sighed. She knew that there was only so much she could do to stall the truth from coming out, so she figured that she could come clean to them.
"Not that it’s any of your business, but—" Luna Park began, before continuing to tell them of what Yanna had done to Rania and Jihoons’s bond.
She told them the truth of the matter and explained to them that all of this, even the woman they were dealing with, was the result of Yanna and Jihoon’s sins against Kim Rania. She didn’t hold back because she didn’t have to.
Everyone would know the truth in one way or the other. So this was her saving them the trouble and the shock of a reality so cruel and a sin so graceful that everyone involved had to own up and pay the price no matter what.
"How could you not have fought for your pack’s rightful luna? You knew all this and even ked the ear? What kind of a mother are you? Why wouldn’t you protect the rightful Luna like you were protected by Taeho’s parents?
"If your son was stubborn and wild, why couldn’t you have stepped up?"
"I don’t owe you an explanation. You are here for the king, not my son. So watch it."
