Chapter 321: The Justified Injustices?

[OBREN]

"How could you not have fought for your pack’s rightful Luna? You knew all this and even left her alone? What kind of a mother are you? Why wouldn’t you protect the rightful Luna like you were protected by Taeho’s parents?

"If your son was stubborn and wild, why couldn’t you have stepped up?" one of the pack alphas asked and Luna Park felt like she was about to be in a fix.

Of course, she had learned that nothing would be easy, but she couldn’t let them be sitting there, nagging her for a decision she had nagged herself about over and over.

She had regretted enough, however, would it be enough to get Rania off their backs? Would it make Rania change her mind about wanting her vengeance? There were just so many things that they all needed to deal with and if they weren’t careful, they would dress up their whole plan.

"I don’t owe you an explanation. You are here for the king, not my son. So, watch it," Luna Park said defensively, making sure to look at Nate as if to tell him that his daughter hadn’t exactly been the angel everyone thought of her to be.

His daughter had started the mess they were currently in, and his daughter had fucked up big time. His daughter was the reason everyone got to see the terrible side of Rania.

However, just like Luna Park, the vampire king didn’t want to think of anything other than getting his vengeance. Granted, if it had been someone else who had done that, King Nathaniel would have been quick to agree with the elders.

However, this was his little girl, his daughter who had died rightfully; even that didn’t take away the emptiness he felt when he realized that he had a daughter.

If she had done so wrong, she could age and be subjected to the Obren laws and not be forced to live like a reject out there.

Kim Rania could have let Yanna rot in the dungeons instead of killing her, but was that really something that the king wanted to explore right now?

Nate was mad and very disappointed towards his daughter, though, at the end of the day, he was a father, one who had been robbed of the chance to bring up his daughter.

A father who could give up a whole kingdom, if that was the only thing Rania wanted, for her to leave Yanna alive. There were so many consequences at the moment and they all could just hope that it wasn’t all in vain.

"You should have done better though. You left her out there, alone to be the reject that everyone mocked when in reality she had never been rejected.

"The universe had to be so cruel to Rania for her to go through this shit alone," another pack leader said, and they all went into silence, trying to come to terms with the fact that life wasn’t always as rosy as they had grown to know it.

They had fucked up real time and no amount of retribution would save them from the agony of the broken girl. Perhaps, they could just have to defend themselves, right?

"We can’t even tell the other warriors that were going to war with someone who was broken by Calindra first.

"The warriors have prepared for months and calling this off is not going to make any sense," another pack leader said and Luna Park looked at him like he had lost some of his brain cells.

Surely, they weren’t saying that Jihoon deserved to rot in the Incayon dungeons, right? Because if that was what they were saying then she could go to Incayon on her own, and make sure to get her son and his best friend back.

She would find them and consequences be damned, she would make sure to come back home with her son. That was the only thing that mattered to her.

"You’re getting cold feet when we didn’t have a king to run Obren? You might as well give the kingdom to Nate then, seeing as he is here already with some vendetta against Kim Rania anyway, huh?" Luna Park said disappointedly.

Of course, she knew that what she and her people had done wasn’t forgivable. Then again, she also knew that she couldn’t just let things be like that.

Rania had messed up and they were determined to go to Incayon to stop her, because if they let her rage continue, there were very high chances that she would go on and be the one person who would burn down everyone and everything to the ground.

It wouldn’t do them all any good, and they needed to be very aware of that soon. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"No one is getting cold feet. It’s just that the situation is questionable right now—" the pack leader from earlier, started again, and Luna Park was done listening to them.

She was aware of her sins, but they couldn’t just be there pointing fingers at her like they were some saints. None of them were, and the sooner they all faced that version of their reality, the sooner everything would be better, right?

"What part of ’we are going to Incayon to free the royals,’ didn’t you understand? We all fucked up in our own way and none more than Calindra. And we already got punished for it. But we know Rania.

"I don’t quite know what her deal with the king was, and I frankly don’t intend to know because it’s not in my business. What I am interested in is the king coming back and giving Obren the assurance we need.

"Without a king, we are doomed, and you know that. We can’t even run as a kingdom if we don’t have someone who can understand all the packs that well. If you want to leave, well and good.

"My warriors and I will take the lead at Incayon," Luna Park said, and the pack leaders just sighed. There wasn’t exactly an option there for them. They had come this far so they had to see it through.

No matter what angle they looked at all this from, there was no denying that they had fucked up and that they needed to embrace that reality before shit went down. It was all just a matter of time before everything hit them back and hard.

They needed to go to Rania as soon as they could, while she was still distracted with the mating ceremony, right? However, would Rania ever be distracted from her vengeance by anything, even a mate bond?

That was the question many would ask, but it was one that only the misfits of Incayon knew the answer to.

"Fine. Let us go and do this. Just to let you know, what you did was not something you should have. You needed to do better," the pack leader said and Brent just sighed. He knew that this could go on for as long as the alpha could let it.

While pointing the finger at Luna Park was actually a noble thing given the circumstances that Rania had faced, and the shit the woman had endured, that still wasn’t going to be enough for them to get to the winning side.

If that was where they wanted to be anyway.

"You all are not helping. Rania’s mate bond with Jihoon is broken. And the Calindra alpha had long given up the bond. Okay? Now can we get back on course?"
