Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 363: The Confession of A Lifetime [1]
[RANIA]
Figuring that this was probably a pointless mini-battle with the misfits, Oshita decided to let everything go. He knew that there wasn’t much that he could do with them or even for them at the moment.
They were all happy and that was the only thing that mattered to him and the deities at the moment. There was no telling what would happen and what their future would probably hold for them. It was a long gamble but it was one that they were more than willing to take on.
"Well, I don’t even want to know the remaining bits of that long tale. Tell me, what did I miss?" Oshita asked and the misfits erupted into chaos, trying to explain to the missing friend what they had gone through and how they had managed to deal with it all.
It hadn’t been something expected but the excitement on their faces as they took turns telling what they had gone through was the reminder that he had made the right decisions when he came back home.
He had been shocked by the alpha’s offer, but staring at their happy faces, Oshita was thankful that he had stayed with them.
He didn’t need any more motivation, even as he shifted positions and sat next to Odelia, making sure to rest his head on her lap like they always did during the misfits’ storytime.
It was a wholesome moment, even as Kaia and Rania held onto each other while Chang Wook and Dalrae watched in awe. They were the products of love, a love that would never fade, no matter what happened.
"I have a confession to make," Han Seong interrupted the misfits who just stared at him knowingly.
"Ten gold coins say it’s about Paloma," Dalrae said and they all agreed, like they already knew this.
"Twenty gold coins say he’s in love with her," Odelia added.
"A thousand gold coins says he’s her mate," Kaia said casually and nonchalantly like that was something they all had known.
Paloma looked at their friends wondering what they were about, but there was a glimmer in her eyes, one that told them that she knew what they were actually talking about.
It was something they seemed to not pass them and for a team that had been so oblivious, perhaps they hadn’t been so oblivious, right?
"I didn’t do nothing," Paloma said and they all burst out laughing, making Han Seong sigh.
"You people are nosey as fuck," Han said.
The misfits, however, decided to remind him of the way he had been so focused on Paloma even though he had been talking about his brother. They reminded him of how he had been protective of the rogue queen like he was her mate.
They reminded him of how he had cast another spell on both Odelia and Paloma to protect them from the possible attacks for the dead warriors, just in case someone decided to pull a black magic stunt while the women had been burning the bodies.
They reminded Han of how Paloma always came first after his brother, something they had long noticed even before they had come to Incayon.
They reminded him of the times he had advocated for the rogues, even though the high warlock of the Valley of the Whites was always supposed to be the neutral power in the realm politics.
They did remind them both of several instances in which their love was everything, the times when all they had to do was breathe each other in, and how they had protected each other like the world just had the two of them.
When the misfits were done, they burst out laughing at how Han Seong had always been a good secret keeper but couldn’t deny the love that he had from the queen before him.
It was something that they hadn’t expected, but then they were the kind of people who loved it when their friends were happy and Han Seong had chosen his mate. A queen in her own kingdom.
A queen he would live for, always and always.
"In that case, Queen Paloma Mishra, of Incayon and Altunia. Will you do me, Haruhito Yanagida Seto, the honors and be my beloved always and always?" Han Seong said to Paloma as he lay flat on his stomach on the ground.
It was something that shocked the misfits, but not Kaia himself. This was how the lycans were meant to propose and not just lycans alone. This was how the Seto siblings had been taught to propose by everything who had taken them in.
BangChan, the former high warlock, had taught them that submission was the purest form of love, especially if it came from someone who had so much power, someone who could get whatever they wanted and had abilities that were unthinkable on so many fronts.
They had been taught to embrace love, humility, and more than anything, they were taught to embrace their inner selves and let themselves be open to love. Perhaps that was why it was easy for Han Seong to go that low for the woman he was in love with, right?
"Say yes!"
"Say yes!"
"Say yes!"
The chants began to form the misfits but soon enough, the rogues, the hybrids, and the general warriors of Incayon joined in.
It had been a long time since they had seen anyone propose and the fact that one of the most powerful creatures to ever exist had chosen the rogue queen to be his mate was something else.
Rogues were always made to believe that they didn’t deserve to be loved. They were meant to believe that their lives were as lonely as hell. They never had someone to rely on other than themselves and they were forbidden to make bonds.
Yet when Han was making a proposal to Paloma.
He knew that by heart.
He knew that would happen, and he knew what the fates would expect, but he didn’t care. All he wanted was to be happy. If his brother had chosen the path that no one had ever imagined possible for Kaia, then this wasn’t going to be an issue for them.
"Man’s probably having a stomach ache right now," Chang Wook teased and Dalrae just joined in.
They had never had someone propose in their little family and honestly, it was a beautiful sight, one that they wouldn’t stop making fun of. Well perhaps they were right for this, but would it even matter then if this was a case of soulmates?
"Naah, he’s a Seto. he is not worried," Kaia said, and Rania let out a chuckle.
Kaia was holding onto her so tight, even though she was lying on his lap. He was holding onto her like he was worried he could lose her, even though they had marked each other.
He was probably thinking that he could have considered the bond already, but then life wasn’t always that easy and they all had to fix some things in their lives.
’Oh really now,’ Rania teased Kaia in the mind link that she had never used. The moment they had been marked, they formed a link for them to communicate and Rania was using that even though she could tell that they read more to it.
’You both are making me nervous,’ Han Seong said to the audience in their link.
’Relax, the worst she could say is no,’ Rania said and Kaia just looked at his brother as if to give him hope.
’She’s kidding, Haru. Don’t listen to her,’ Kaia said just when Pal0ma gave her answer, making them instantly shut the link they were using.
