Chapter 366: What A First Day, Right?

[CEZAEVI]

Time was something that had no meaning in the Cezaevi, and that was a reality that the new occupants had come to terms with as soon as the first pong day ended.

Their new occupants were not sure which part of the world they were in, but they all knew that limbo was way better than this. At least in limbo, there was warmth and something that could keep them sane.

They could probably try to find their way out of limbo, but that was the one place that had no entrance or exit. It was like a bubble ball that bounced them all over with the only problem being that their eyes were stuck in the same time and season.

The snowing season, and the worst part of it, was that they couldn’t tell how long this would take or even how they would figure out their way out of this. It was the kind of thing that got them wondering what the hell would get better.

However, the only question was would it ever get better? This was like some top-tier survival shit show that they were stuck in and boy was it crazy.

From the moment they had been thrust in here, they had landed in the snow. It was windy, and raining ice. Everything was so cold you would think that it was the intended punishment. But was it really?

This was worse than anything they had ever imagined.

The weather was terrible, to say the least.

The constant endless snow was slowly turning the place into an ice hell.

That was the simplest way to put it. There was no sun, no warmth, no nothing. To make matters even worse, they had a mansion in the middle of that, one that seemed to be warm for only an hour each day.

It wasn’t easy counting the hours because regardless of everything they had no way of telling what time it was.

There was no sun to give them a hint of their shadows. Hell, they didn’t even have shadows here to at least tell them what they were expected to do.

"I have created the damn portals and nothing is working," Yanna complained as she stared outside the window.

Just like every other minute and second, it was snowing.

If this was the kind of hell that the misfits had been determined to create, then they had really succeeded in making it for them. It was one that no sane person would live in alone and perhaps that wasn’t even shocking anymore.

Their sanity was like a thread they were holding onto, one that wouldn’t even give them the functionalities of the day. They were not sure how long they had been here but goddamn; time did go by a little too slowly.

Everything outside may have been the same, but nothing inside here was the same.

"We can’t get out of here, unless they release us. Don’t spend too much of your energy, you will go nuts," King Nathaniel said to his daughter as he walked closer to her at the window.

He had been trying to start a conversation with his daughter and each time, she ignored him. It was something that saddened him, but then he couldn’t exactly blame her for wanting her face.

She had been to hell and back because of these people and now she was trapped with them. Funnily enough, the vampire king had learned a few things about his daughter. She was still regretful of everything that had happened.

Yanna wished she would find Benita and make her pay for ruining her life. She wanted to make things right, and she was always hoping that her sins wouldn’t be so terrible that she was cast out.

She was trying to be better but then that didn’t even matter because they didn’t have a purpose anymore.

"Please talk to me, Yanna," the vampire king begged, right before a bowl flew past his head and hit the window, breaking it in the process. This had been the usual occurrence in this house.

Everyone here had either gone nuts, was going nuts, or was already beyond a mental institution admission. Just like any other day, Jungwoo had the displeasure of watching his parents fight over things they couldn’t control.

Right now, they were at it again, blaming themselves. It had been the same thing over and over and honestly, it was tiring. To see the most powerful creatures just very angry at each other for a truth they wouldn’t ever be able to change no matter what they wanted.

They had all fucked up and they could either face it together or keep pointing fingers, because one thing was clear, the people who had thrust them here wouldn’t mind having them here for another year or even a whole ass lifetime.

It was that crazy, and with the snow out there, there wasn’t a way around this that they would be able to get through unless they worked as a team. Perhaps they could be clear-headed, right? Oh but if only.

"I guess I will continue this conversation later, huh," the vampire king said as he gently patted his daughter’s back and let her be. He knew they were both going to have a long time trying to face the truth.

Perhaps this time away from reality would be their chance at a new future.

Granted, it wasn’t going to be easy, but at least they still had time, right? He loved his daughter even before he knew she was exhausted.

The vampire king had been shocked by the realization that his little girl was the same one who had been terrorizing his vampires, but he was a father and he could always forgive his daughter. He could go and ask the vampires for forgiveness on her behalf.

Hell, he would give up the kingship just to spend a day with her. She was that important to him and it was something he had learned and was going to try and deal with, but by bit.

Maybe there was a way, but then Nathaniel wasn’t going to give up. He would make sure to tell his child every day that he loved her. That he cherished her and more than anything he would always remind her that she was the best thing that happened to him.

Knowing about her this late had broken him and he helped to make up for all that when the sun came up someday. But until then, he would protect his daughter. He would stand up for her and he would always, always strive to be a better father for her.

That was his insane yet very achievable promise.

There was always going to be a way regardless. That was the one thing that they could all agree on. Perhaps at the end of all this, they could gather around and find their common ground as a little yet imperfect family, right?

"Hey, hey hey. Not in front of the kids!" the vampire king said and Jungwoo just sighed. The situation had always gotten worse regardless of what he had done. Their parents were never going to reconcile and for the first time, the young prince wished that he wasn’t a prince.

Maybe then, he would be able to figure out what the fuck had happened, or perhaps it would be easier for him to just tell his parents that they were acting like kids. However, at the same time, Jungwoo knew what betrayal looked like.

He himself had betrayed Rania and he was never going to forgive himself for that. He was never going to let things go just because of that.

He would find a way.

He would fix their relationship and he would make sure that he apologized to her, even if it was the last thing that he did with his life.

Love was never something that was to haunt him, but this time, he would fight for the bond that he had almost lost.

"Oh great, here they go again." Yanna sighed as she watched the madness before them.

Strangely enough, Luna Park and her son were seated on the corner, silently watching the chaos like they had no clue what had happened. But even if they had known what happened, would it change anything?

Would it make their lives any better and more than anything, would it change the fact that they were being punished for being terrible parents?

Would that make any sense for them?

Would that be something that she had her son would ever face in another life?

"They have so much pent-up anger, I just wish they didn’t throw things around while at it," Jungwoo sighed sadly. This wasn’t anything close to what their realities had been turned into. They were like the lost people in the world that had nothing to do with them.

However, they couldn’t deny that this was easily the strangest thing they had ever experienced. No matter what was sent their way, there wouldn’t be a thing that surprised them like this current condition.

No one had prepared them for the situation they had walked into.

No amount of preparation could let them know that they were about to walk into a Cezaevi. A Seto one at that. This shit was crazy on so many fronts, but then what else could they do, right?

They just had to eat it until their masters apparently released them. But then seeing as they are angry enough to lock them here, it could take a lot of convincing to make them be released from here.

This kind of shit was crazy, but perhaps it was what they had to deal with, right?

"You have some nerve showing up here when this is all your fault!" King Seojoon said angrily to the vampire king.
