Chapter 93: Chapter 93

Jaxon pov

As I silently drove the car out of the school premises. I couldn’t help but turn my attention to Aria occasionally, and she smiled back at me. I guess our little quarries would end after our little incident earlier in the school warehouse. I

couldn’t believe, of all places, that was where I could take her, and she stared at me.

I could tell she was thinking the same thing as we both chuckled. She gently slapped me on the shoulder as I looked at her in confusion.

"What is wrong? You couldn’t even wait till we get home, the warehouse of all places," she said, and I tried to hold in my chuckle. It came out anyway.

"I seriously did not have a choice, and besides, I was more than sure that Mum would be back home, what is the use?" I told her as she nodded, realizing what I had just meant.

"It’s a good thing she’s finally back; they have stayed their holiday way too far," she said and suddenly had a frown on her face. I knew she had recalled that she had to face mum again and their argument would have to continue from where it stopped.

I could tell that she was angry. I could tell that she would not get over her and her mother’s arguments, but aside from that, nothing else.

I decided to reassure her. I placed my hand on her shoulder. She turned to me with a smile.

"You don’t have to be acting that way." I began as

"She is your mom, and she made a mistake. She will get over it, and you two must settle it." I said to her while trying to act all braver, but she still looked a bit sadder.

"There is no such thing as learning from her mistakes. My mom never learns from that; she just needs to know that everything has to do with her own Peace of Mind, she should have told me the truth about him, and then all this would not have happened to me, " she said to me as I nodded, that is the truth from Aria.

As I watched her mood suddenly change. I couldn’t help but want to lighten up the atmosphere, but we had already gotten too close to the house, and I noticed that a taxi was parked in front of the gate.

Aria also seemed curious to know who it was because we were not expecting them to arrive anytime soon; they still had an hour or two before arriving. I turned to Aria as she shrugged, telling me she had no idea who the person was.

We decided not to enter directly into the compound and instead park outside. After making sure Aria was all right, we both sneaked into the compound as it seemed silent, but just as we got in front of the door, we realized they had arrived earlier than expected.

I turned to Aria with a smile. "You see, that was why I told you we shouldn’t have come all the way home and finished everything in the school," I said to her as she laughed loudly,

"you were very much, right," she said, but I ran back to the car to drive it into the compound.

Just then, the taxi turned around to leave, but I noticed the individual inside the car seemed so familiar. At first, I did not care, but just as I entered the gate, I recalled that it could not be.

I was sure that it was Aria’s father who just drove that taxi.

Even though, at first, I had assured Aria that her father would not come anywhere into our lives. I couldn’t help but feel so scared.

Does that mean he is already all around us, and we don’t even know it, but it cannot be possible? I am sure that at least Mom would be able to recognize him no matter what, but for him to drive them from the airport to this place, they did not recognize each other. That means something must be amiss somewhere. I did not want it to be like I was scaring Aria again, so I quietly drove the car into the compound, and after packing it at the right place, I rushed into the building, but the atmosphere was so awkward for my parents.

Even though they seemed happy to see both of us, we hugged them so joyfully. I couldn’t help but feel a bit distant. Mum seemed a bit sad, and Dad did not care about anything.

Everyone sat at the dining table as Mom served all of us lunch. I decided to lighten up the mood. " How was you guy’s holiday?" I said,

"I am sure you guys enjoyed it for it was a very long holiday." I said while exaggerating the parts where I said long so they could know they spent a lot of time in the States. Mum stared at dad for some seconds before speaking "It was, it was one of the best holidays ever, but I guess we’re back to our daily work again". She said in a positive tone while staring at Aria from time to time.

"Why did you even bother coming back? We were doing perfectly fine without you" Aria said, and I couldn’t help but feel angry. I told her to control herself.

I guess my dad noticed Aria’s words as he dropped his cutleries down on the table, staring at her with a frown.

"I know you’re going through some things, and you might be angry at your mum, but please, can you just hold that emotion till you’re alone with her? Do not ruin everyone’s day because you are angry." Dad said, as Mum seemed a bit nervous, I could tell she was offended.

She was usually the one who would do all the yelling but she was weirdly keeping her composure, this definitely wasn’t going to end well.
