Chapter 297: A HEALTHY SOLUTION

THE CULINARY Hunters.

When the First Apocalypse started, it was hunger that killed most people and not dungeon monsters.

Fortunately, with the emergence of Culinary Hunters— those who discovered that plenty of dungeon monsters, plants, vegetables, fruits, etc. were edible and safe for human consumption— the hunger problem in the world was solved.

Hence, they were celebrated all over the world.

And it remained that way even after the Second Apocalypse.

However...

"Bitna-ya, I understand the importance of Culinary Hunters," Wonhee said carefully. Of course, she knew that Bitna wasn’t done talking yet. Hence, she added: "We need to increase the Mana of this world in order to drive away the Cracks and the dungeon monsters. That was why the System aimed to share my Mana with the rest of the world."

That was the plan before Lee Seodam destroyed Wonhee’s Core.

But, even though my heart and my Cores were both fixed, my Mana became "corrupted" as it had already been broken once. And, according to the System, she would only end up poisoning Civilians if she shared her Mana in that state.

"So, please explain how the Culinary Hunters would play a huge role in this."

Bitna nodded, and then she explained. "In this world, in this era, Culinary Hunters only cook ingredients from the dungeons with the simple aim to feed people. But it soon became hard for Culinary Hunters to procure ingredients from dungeons because not all dungeons have edible ingredients in them."

That was true.

And that was how monster meat became a delicacy for the rich.

The affordable monster dishes found in convenience stores weren’t as good as the ones personally cooked by Culinary Hunters, of course.

"Culinary Hunters all over the world tried farming and raising monsters so that they wouldn’t have to raid dungeons to maintain the food supply," Bitna continued with her explanation. "They failed, though. The seeds they brought out of the dungeons don’t grow in normal soil. Raising monsters also failed since the Researchers couldn’t figure out what to feed the baby monsters. Because even newly born monsters craved human flesh. Many Researchers have died because of that project. When the Civilians protested, they stopped trying to raise baby monsters."

Everything Bitna had said was true.

However...

"Wait, Bitna-ya," Wonhee said, interrupting her friend. "How did you know all of that when you were stuck in a dungeon all this time."

"Ah, did I forget to tell you?" Bitna asked casually, then she pointed a finger at herself. "I am Hamin Hyung’s Administrator all along. Whatever he learns this world, he shares it with me without knowing that I’m a living person."

Administrator?

Just like Hwang Yejun’s Administrator? The one wearing a tangerine head costume?

"Can living people become the System’s Administrator?"

To be honest, Wonhee wanted to tell Bitna that she also met an existence that introduced himself as Hwang Frost’s Administrator.

However, she felt like she should tell Hwang Frost about that person first.

Plus, I haven’t asked the Administrator yet if his existence should be kept a secret or not.

"I’m special, but I’ll tell you about my unique situation later. We need to focus on the solution I’m sharing with you, Wonhee-ya."

Right.

Wonhee nodded in agreement. "Please continue, Bitna-ya."

"Sure," Bitna said while nodding, and then she quickly went back to her explanation. "While I was in the dungeon, I had to fight several monsters to survive. Of course, in order to have the energy to fight monsters, I had to eat good and healthy food. That’s how I obtained the power of a Hunter despite being a Guide."

Ah, that was right.

Wonhee almost forgot that Bitna was originally a Guide.

After all, Bitna’s ability is similar to most Hunters...

Wait.

Wonhee heard an imaginary "click" in her head as if everything had fallen into its place already. "Wait a minute, Bitna-ya. I think I’m starting to get what you’re trying to say."

Bitna smirked as if she was proud of Wonhee. "I knew it— you’re smart, after all."

Well, it wasn’t like Wonhee was smart from the beginning.

I just gained some sense after being on the battlefield for years.

"So, what do you think?" Bitna asked, smiling. "Do you think my solution will work?"

"Let’s try it first," Wonhee said while standing up. "Bitna-ya, please teach me how to cook monster meat first."

HWANG FROST had been unconscious for three days.

During those three days, Wonhee had a cooking lesson with Bitna.

Of course, as a self-sufficient adult in an apocalyptic world, she had learned how to cook for herself. After all, she also needed to avoid getting poisoned by her enemies.

Moreover, cooking dungeon ingredients were different from cooking ordinary meals.

Fortunately, Bitna is a patient teacher.

"I heard Hwang Frost has already woken up," Bitna, who just entered the kitchen, greeted Wonhee that way. "I’m surprised he hasn’t gone on a Rampage yet."

"Hunter Hwang Frost-ssi looks scarier when he’s quiet, though. And he refuses to eat," Wonhee said while plating the hot food that she made for Hwang Frost. "That’s why I made "chicken" mushroom porridge for him."

Most of the ingredients she used to make the porridge were from the dungeon— including a "chicken."

It was a monster that looked like a giant chicken.

I’ll deliver some to Semi Unnie and Soobin Oppa later.

"That looks and smells good, Wonhee-ya," Bitna, her cooking teacher, said proudly. "You didn’t forget to put the most important ingredient, did you?"

"Of course, I didn’t," Wonhee said proudly. "I put my Mana in every step I made while cooking."

WONHEE had to threaten-slash-bribe Hwang Frost before she could convince him to at least take a few spoonfuls of her chicken mushroom porridge.

["I’ll bring you to your family’s grave after you eat."]

That was what Wonhee said.

Surprisingly, Hwang Frost started eating after she said that.

That just goes to show how much he misses his family.

It was normal to feel that way.

And now that Hwang Frost had eaten Wonhee’s food...

"What did you put in here?" Hwang Frost asked, his eyes widening a bit. "I feel a Mana boost in my system."

Wonhee was relieved to hear that.

Now there was only one result she and Bitna were waiting for.

We need to know if it has the same effect on Civilians.

Yes, Wonhee and Bitna were trying to inject Mana into Civilians by feeding them with food cooked by Guides.
