Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 51 - Fifty-One: The Depressed Ghost.
The Underworld.
Adrik’s Palace.
Adrik sighed tiredly when he appeared in his room, these days that passed by were the boriest day of his life and does it sound cringy that a ghost was passing through depression?
Of course it doesn’t make any sense that his life had taken a random turn, after he had kissed Narika, and hurt his best friend who hasn’t been in touch since after he had punched him, for saying that he was obsessed with Narika.
As much as he didn’t want to admit it, Narika had taken an important place in his life in these past few days of knowing her. Not talking to her...no, not showing up and teasing her for days now made him realize how lonely been a ghost was.
For the first time in five years, Adrik missed being human. He missed being alive. The feelings he had been experiencing since he saw Narika, can he only be felt by a human being, and that is what he wasn’t.
But he didn’t regret everything he did, all he did was because of her. His beloved, but the important question right now was, what exactly was he doing with Narika? 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Within the days that he had kept his distance from her, he had done a lot of thinking. What if Polina is alive somewhere and is waiting for him?
If she’s alive, has she moved on with her life with another man?
That’s the question since there’s no sigh of her here, so that’s the only theory he had about her disappearance. She’s probably alive, and since he’s not yet permitted to touch either Alex or Adrian Singh, there’s no way he can get his answer from them, even if he decided to torture them.
Polina is his past.
But Narika is his present, and she belongs to him. She’s nothing but a gift. A payment to a Definite like him, so yes! He doesn’t have feelings for her. He’s only attracted because she’s Polina’s blood.
With that in mind, Adrik’s old arrogant self was back and he couldn’t wait to meet her. Afterall, he knew that she would have a lot to say to him since after he framed her for murder.
That smirk on his face died down when he realized his mistake, he sat up from his throne and took the orb that he has been using to check on her incase he doesn’t want to appear before her.
What if she’s dead?
What if she’s convicted for real, and she spends her entire life locked up in jail?
A worried Adrian with empathy in him thought, with his hand supporting his jaw until the darkness inside him clouded his rational thinking, and he couldn’t help but marvel at the thought of that.
That would only benefit us, she would have no other choice but to accept me and become my bride.
His sinister mind laughed, and he waved the idea of watching her through the orb. Within a few seconds he appeared in her room, making himself invisible since he hasn’t supported the idea of fully appearing before her.
He had thought that she was probably crying her ass out, while blaming God for her pathetic life only to find her busy with her laptop.
He hovered over her, not much to make her sense the dejavu behind her only to see what had her interest, to be typing like some crazy accountant on her laptop.
Biography of Adrik Ivanov.
He was on the search headline, she was getting information about him. Interesting! He smiled, moving aside to study her face while she did her thing.
He had been waiting for this, for her to finally know about him. Although he was sad that it took her this long to be pushed to know who exactly he is, he hoped that she would search for the reason why he’s stuck on her.
He hoped that she sees the reasons why he can’t let her go, no matter what anyone says and that’s because of the blood running through her veins. She’s a Singh! His enemy!
He was enjoying every bit of this, until he saw how her face crumbled at the sight of something. He looked ahead to where her eyes were only to see the picture of Polina, her aunt staring right back at her.
He looked back at her, the way her brows raised up in confusion. Her eyes doing the deed to connect the dots, only for a gasp to leave her lips when she figured the reason why he’s onto her.
That...
He nearly yelled at her, while pointing at the screen where Polina’s picture was, only to realize that he made himself invisible and he didn’t want to ruin her search party.
He stood back, with his hands folded while waiting for what she’s going to do. Until he heard a sniff, she was crying.
Yes cry sweetheart, I’m only after you because of your aunt! Because you are nothing but her replacement!
"Narika huni... are you home?" Someone yelled from downstairs and he figured that out to be her mother. Narika did something amusing that had him wishing that she would let herself loose so that he could read her mind.
She just didn’t know what control she had, she let him into her head before but right now it seems as if there was some force blocking his entrance.
She stood up and offed the light in her room, before shutting the laptop too. She probably didn’t want her mother to find out that she’s back.
But that was nothing but a dumb move by her, she didn’t knew what she did only welcomed the dark creature into her house. The darkness are a home to every evil creature out there.
So when he came closer to where she sat at the foot of her bed, crying her ass out. He bent down to her level only to whisper the words that made her shiver.
"Did you miss me, angel?"
