Chapter 174: Preparing To Loot

After looking around at the frontline areas for an hour, John had had enough.

"Well then, I will be staying in my abode up there. You can come with other family heads when you are all ready for the auction."

John summoned the island in the sky, right above the border area.

"Very well. Also, can you tell us how many things you are going to sell?" Sovitra asked as she blinked, curious. "So we can prepare the funds that way."

"Bring everything you got. I’ll keep selling until you have nothing left."

Sovitra laughed. "That’s wonderful. Alright, we shall do just that."

John wanted as many resources as possible to increase his production of Molding Essence.

Because in case he had to deal with big problems, he would need shit ton of Molding Essence.

Not to mention he already needed shit tone of it to do some things, like entering Abyss Labyrinth.

After teleporting everyone to the island above, John started a shopping spree in Xhalthuun’s shop while others began doing whatever they wanted to do in Monster Paradise, but it was mostly training their Pet Monsters.

There were a lot of sparring partners now to train in the training ground.

Meanwhile, before starting his shopping spree, John first upgraded Xhalthuun’s shop to level 5.

It cost one million Xhal Drops, but that was nothing to John at the moment.

A single Sovereign-rank resource could easily net him a minimum of one million and a maximum of five million, depending on the spirit potency.

After upgrading the shop to level 5, the number of items increased from five to six.

But that was not all. New types of items are also naturally unlocked in the pool, and most importantly, a special summoning banner appeared that changes every week.

And it couldn’t be refreshed.

"What is this?" John raised his eyebrows.

[ Gacha Banner: Flags of Myriad Realms ]

Chuthulos’ voice rang in John’s head as he answered. "Well, that’s like some specific items that Xhalthuun uses his power to create based on other cosmoverse in his database of other cosmoverse have access to so far. This particular Gacha Banner will give you flags with exotic effects."

John selected the option and saw the summoning option.

1 x Summon (100,000 Xhal Drops) — 10 x Summons (1,000,000 Xhal Drops)

"Alright, let’s see what I get."

John did 10 x Summons, spending a million Xhal Drops in a blink.

1. Flag of Wailing Snow ( A-rank )

2. Flag of Crimson Skyward ( S-rank )

3. Flag of Unseen March ( A-rank )

4. Flag of Drifting Astralwinds ( SSS-rank )

5. Flag of Verdant Tyranny (A-rank)

6. Flag of Zero-Sky Accord (A-rank)

7. Flag of Eclipsed Thronelight (SS-rank)

8. Flag of Umbral Nexusbind (S-rank)

9. Flag of the Pale Sovereign (SS-rank)

10. Flag of Devouring Darkness ( SSS-rank )

John looked at one of the flags in detail to understand the effects.

[ Flag of Drifting Astralwinds ]

-Rank: SSS

-Active period: 1 hour.

-Cooldown period: 1 hour.

-Effect:

—> Upon planting the flag, create astralwinds within an area of 10 kilometers radius. The owner of the flag can designate allies within the flag’s range, allowing them to travel instantly anywhere using astralwinds. They can also use astralwinds to speed up their projectiles by 100% of their original speed.

—> The flag produces 100 astral wind trails every second for everyone to use.

"Ten fucking kilometer radius?" John was dumbfounded. "And that effect..."

"Yeah, well, that’s an SSS-rank flag. It’s the highest rank for items Xhalthuun can summon right now." Chuthulos chuckled. "That’s more like between Legendary-rank and Mythical-rank items than a Sovereign-rank one."

"Damn."

John was impressed and amazed.

He then looked at an SS-rank flag.

[ Flag of the Pale Sovereign ]

-Active period: 1 hour. novelbuddy-cσ๓

-Cooldown period: 2 hours.

-Rank: SS

-Effect:

—> Reduce the physical defense of all enemies within a 4 kilometer radius by 50% of their original value.

This flag’s effect was short and straightforward, but still very powerful.

50% reduction in physical defense meant that all attacks that scaled with physical damage would be devastating within the area of this flag.

"These items are damn good, and I am going to sell them to demons for crazy amount. But not the SSS-rank ones," John said with a grin. "I’ll keep the SSS-rank ones to myself."

"Yep. You are kind of lucky to have pulled two SSS-rank items. Maybe the beginner’s luck, haha." Chuthulos chuckled.

"Well, whatever it is, I am glad." John laughed before he checked the other SSS-rank flag and was dumbfounded.

"Holy shit...This one’s even more powerful than the other SSS-rank one."

[ Flag of Devouring Darkness ]

-Rank: SSS

-Active period: 1 hour.

-Cooldown period: 30 minutes.

-Effect:

—> Block all senses of enemies, including Soul Eye, for everyone at Legendary-rank or below within 10 10-kilometer radius of this flag, while weakening the senses of Mythical-rank beings by 50%.

—> Enhance the senses of designated allies.

The cooldown period was just 30 minutes, unlike the other SSS-rank flag.

The other flags, even the A-rank flags, had a minimum effective radius of 3 kilometers while having useful effects that could change the tide of battle.

John knew these were going to sell a lot, and he wanted more of such flags.

[ You cannot summon more. ]

"What?!" John exclaimed. "Why?"

Chuthuos laughed. "Well, you need to upgrade the shop to level 6 for two multi-summons in banners."

John pouted. "Alright, I’ll do it later."

The next upgrade for Xhalthuun’s shop was a bit high—100 million Xhal Drops.

He didn’t want to waste that many Xhal Drops yet.

And so, John did the standard gacha.

At once, he spent five million Xhal Drops to summon ten items.

Standard gacha was worth it because it always summoned items that were equal to or higher than the Xhal Drops he paid.

In these standard gacha, John got a total of six items, as the four summons were duds.

But those six items’ total worth was 8.2 million Xhal Drops, so ultimately, he profited.

He got four artifacts and two one-time use items.

But one artifact was a little too powerful, and its worth alone was 3.1 million Xhal Drops.

He decided to save it while putting the other items in the storage ring for the auction.

"Next."

John spent two million Xhal Drops to summon ten items in standard gacha this time.

All in all, he had decided to spend 50 million Xhal Drops total to gather various items.

He would keep the best ones of them and sell the others for pure giga profit.
