Chapter 72: Hidden plan

The next day...

Damian came home early in the morning and hurried to the kitchen to pick a drink, but he was immediately greeted by his mother who was preparing breakfast.

"Did you just see her?" Elena asked.

Damian remained silent, grabbed a cold coffee, poured it into a thick glass, and then put it in the microwave.

"Hey..." Elena opened the microwave again and took the coffee. "You can’t do this, it could harm your health!" She placed the coffee on the table, then took an empty glass and placed it in the coffee maker.

Damian sighed, leaning his body against the pantry counter while waiting for his mother to make coffee for him.

"What happened? You look unhappy even though you’ve just been with her, right?" Elena wondered.

"Your husband is causing trouble again," Damian replied curtly. "He’s insane..."

"What did he do? Did he threaten her again?"

"Not only threaten, but he also wants to commit a crime!" Damian explained through gritted teeth, then took a heavy breath as if holding back his emotions. "He instructed two people to kidnap Daniel," he continued, sitting down on a chair.

Elena immediately furrowed her brow, then took the finished coffee and handed it to him before sitting in front of him.

"What do you mean? How can you say that? Do you have any evidence?" She asked, staring at Damian who was sipping his coffee. "Are you sure it’s your father who did it? It seems highly unlikely that he would do that to his grandson!"

"But that’s the reality." Damian placed the coffee on the table. "Who else would do it if not him? The last person who threatened Valerie’s family was him, so I believe he’s behind the kidnapping because maybe he’s upset that I’m still in a relationship with her."

Elena fell silent, imagining Darius when he used to cherish Valerie as a potential daughter-in-law, never committing any crimes, making her doubt if he would kidnap their grandson.

"At this point, Valerie doesn’t need to hide anymore... It’s pointless. I’ll let her live freely like anyone else, I’ll pay Jerry to always guard her," Damian said before taking another sip of his coffee.

"Don’t you want to be angry with your father?"

"Being angry with him will only make things worse," Damian said as he stood up and took his coffee. "I’ll do whatever he wants, but I have a limit to my patience. So if something goes against his plan, don’t be surprised," he continued as he left the kitchen.

Elena remained silent with a sense of anxiety, curious about what Damian would do. But considering what happened to Daniel, she immediately picked up her phone from the table and tried to contact Valerie.

...

In her apartment, Karina had just woken up and saw Tristan getting ready to leave. The cunning girl sat up and glanced at the slightly messy bed, recalling what she had done with him last night, but ended up in silence after she scolded him.

’I can’t keep being cold to him... It’ll be dangerous if he resents me and refuses to continue his mission, or even exposes my plans to Damian,’ she thought anxiously, quickly getting up from bed. ’I have to melt him!’

She approached Tristan and hugged him from behind.

Tristan stopped combing his hair and glanced at Karina.

"Don’t be mad at me," Karina said coyly. "Last night I was very surprised because you came inside while I wasn’t on birth control pills. I was mad because I was really afraid of getting pregnant... It could ruin my dream of being with Damian," she continued in a melancholic tone as if showing her fear.

"I understand," Tristan said briefly, then released Karina’s embrace and turned to face her. He looked into her brown eyes, her naturally beautiful face with sexy lips, then smiled. "You don’t need to worry."

"I’m worried, I feel like I’ve been too harsh on you... I shouldn’t have hurt you with my words because you’ve voluntarily helped me, even got hurt for me," Karina said, caressing Tristan’s cheek while noticing his bruised face. "I feel like a girl who doesn’t know how to be grateful... I’m truly sorry..."

"I’m fine... I understand you," Tristan whispered, then caressed Karina’s lips. "I’m lucky because you let me have you even if it’s just for a moment, just as a reward... But I don’t think that’s so bad. I can be with you, then I can date other girls too... Isn’t that fun? I can play with them when you don’t want me?"

"It is fun," Karina smiled faintly. "I’ll be with you when I get bored with Damian."

"No..." Tristan shook his head. "I’m not sure you’ll get bored with him. But you won’t want me anymore once you’ve successfully gotten him, even slept with him."

"No, that’s not true..."

"Don’t comfort me with lies."

"No... I’m not lying at all."

"Karina..." Tristan sighed and cupped Karina’s cheeks. "I know you don’t want me, and what we’re doing is purely for rewards, mutually beneficial... I understand that. I respect you, and your feelings... And I’m glad for this opportunity."

Karina fell silent, looking into Tristan’s silver eyes.

"I’ll do whatever you want, but let me enjoy your body while you’re not married to Damian," Tristan said with warmth in his eyes, then stroked Karina’s arm. "But when you’re married to him, then I’ll leave... I’ll leave happily Because I’ve made you happy..."

"Really?" Karina whispered.

Tristan nodded. "That’s what love means... I’ll be happy if you’re happy, even if it’s not with me," he said.

Karina immediately embraced Tristan’s neck and kissed his lips aggressively.

’This is good, he’s not angry, he’ll still be my slave!’ she thought triumphantly, then ended the kiss. "I don’t know what else to say... I can’t deny it, you’re the best! Only you can truly understand me!"

Tristan smiled faintly. ’If you knew I was the best, maybe you wouldn’t want Damian... You can’t deceive me with your nonsense...I know you just want to use me!’ He exclaimed in his heart. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"My parents might come later in the afternoon, and they’ll stay here for a few days. I hope you won’t come," Karina said.

"Okay, I’ll focus on Valerie," Tristan replied.

"She’s a good girl. If you can love her and make her love you, then you’ll be lucky..."

"Do you want me to like her?" Tristan asked, raising his eyebrows.

Karina nodded. "I think it’s not a bad plan."

"Hmm... I’ll think about it." Tristan nodded, imagining Valerie, who was indeed beautiful and even had a much better attitude than Karina. Hmm, would he be interested in her? It would be bad for Damian, but it would be good for Karina.
