Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 317. Slaying Poisoned Enemies
Chapter 317: Chapter 317. Slaying Poisoned Enemies
When Amon heard about Lin Clan’s annihilation, he used his connection to gain intelligence in White Cloud City. San Guo had moved to the capital following Amon’s order, but he still had people in White Cloud City. San Guo’s people were not good enough to learn about Madam Lin being kept captive by the Wei Clan, but they were decent enough to know about Wei Clan’s planned celebration. They also learned about Wei Suangsou’s desire to purchase Heavenly Bliss Wine.
When Wei Suangsou said he sent someone to purchase the wine, it was San Guo’s people. Heavenly Delight Wine was the best wine in the country. It was not something that could be bought simply because one had aer stones. Many desired the wine. Most purchases were made at auction. Outside auction houses, one could only purchase the wine if one had the connection.
Once Amon learned about Wei Suangsou’s desire, he had San Guo’s people approach Wei Suangsou and present that they could get the wine if Wei Suangsou was willing to pay. San Guo was known in White Cloud City as someone from the underworld who could procure things at the right price. Wei Suangsou was aware of San Guo and his organization’s reputation, so he agreed. Of course, the agreement was for him to pay after the goods arrived.
San Guo could indeed procure the Heavenly Bliss Wine. After moving to the capital, he was able to lay down his roots thanks to Huang San’s support. He didn’t just produce the Thousand Dream Powder for Huang San but also used his time and expertise to slowly build connections with the influential people in the capital.
After years of hard work, he had enough influence and knew the people who could procure the Heavenly Bliss Wine. He used this connection to get Wei Suangsou’s order.
Of course, he didn’t do it for Wei Suangsou. He did it because Amon asked him to. After getting the wine, it was not directly brought to White Cloud City. It was brought to Qishurg City instead, where Amon mixed the wine with his poison.
Amon used a modified version of Cold Stiff Poison to mix with the wine. It reduced the poison’s stench. Fortunately, the Heavenly Bliss Wine itself had a strong aroma. This helped mask the poison. However, the modification also slightly weakened the poison. Sufficient wine needed to be consumed before the poison worked. The effects also didn’t show immediately.
Thankfully, Wei Suangsou was not an expert on Heavenly Bliss Wine. He once tasted the wine a very long time ago when he was young. He remembered the taste but not in detail. So, he wouldn’t know if the wine’s taste was slightly altered by the Cold Stiff Poison.
Wei Suangsou tested the wine by taking a random bottle when San Guo’s people delivered it. He was not affected by the poison because of his high cultivation level, and he only took a sip.
During the party, he drank a lot, and so did most of his clan members. Those affected first were the ones with lower cultivation levels.
Wei Suangsou was finally aware of what was going on after seeing so many members of his clan vomit blood. More and more were showing symptoms of discomfort. Even he started to feel something in his stomach, something cold.
He shouted at everyone, "We have been poisoned! Use your aether to stop the poison from spreading! Pill Master, give everyone curative pills!"
However, when he turned to the pill master, he saw the person was also down on the ground, vomiting blood.
"Damnit!" He cursed.
He wanted to go over and intrude on the pill master’s space ring to search for the curative pills, but the discomfort in his body was growing. It would be a problem if he ignored it. He quickly sat cross-legged to force the poison out of his body.
By now, almost everyone in the hall felt the poison inside them. Some were confused about what to do. The quick-witted ones followed their clan master. They channeled their energy to fight the poison. The ones unaffected were the maids because they didn’t drink the wine, but they were at a loss about what to do.
At this critical time, they heard a loud explosive sound outside, followed by a commotion. People were shouting. Sounds of weapons clashing could also be heard. Not long after, many unidentified intruders barged into the main hall from everywhere. Some charged in from the main entrance. Others crashed in through the windows along the walls. All these intruders had their faces covered with black cloth.
These intruders started to attack without warning. They prioritized the ones sitting cross-legged, who were fighting the poison. The maids screamed in panic and started running. The intruders didn’t stop them. They let the maids leave and continued targeting poisoned Wei Clan members.
"What...?" Wei Suangsou was shocked by this ambush. His attention was then taken by the yelping voice of his grandson.
He turned and was horrified by the scene. Wei Wushu had his mouth open wide. The tip of a blade was seen coming out from inside his mouth. Behind Wei Wushu was a maid.
While his attention was on his grandson, he sensed something approaching fast from his side. His hand came up and caught the incoming something using his two fingers. It was a needle. Its tip was coated with a black substance.
Wei Suangsou applied force, and the needle broke in two. freewebnøvel.com
"Wei Sui’s needle... It’s you," Wei Suangsou uttered.
"It’s me," the maid said. The voice coming out of her was a male’s voice, though. The maid removed her clothes and face mask, revealing Amon behind the disguise.
Amon pulled his swan dagger from the back of Wei Wushu’s skull. The Wei young master fell face-first on the floor. He was dead.
"Bastard!" Wei Suangsou stomped his foot on the floor as he rose. The floor crumbled under his foot. He could feel the poison resumed their invasion, but he couldn’t deal with it right now. He poked himself using the meridian point technique to slow the poison from spreading.
When he did that, Amon also used the meridian point technique on himself. It was the body strengthening technique. His physical power rose significantly after applying the technique. He also activated the Great Virulent Serpent.

While the two were using the meridian point technique, another explosive sound was heard not far away. At that place, a Wei Clan member executed a martial art that blew away all the intruders targeting him. This Wei Clan member was the other one with the cultivation at the Martial Realm. His cultivation was Peak Mystic Stage.
His cultivation might be the same as Yan Fan, whom Amon defeated in the past. While Yan Fan was poisoned by inhalation of the poison, he was poisoned by consuming it. Hence, the degree to which the poison affected him was greater. He had applied the same meridian point technique to slow the poison from spreading, but it was having little effect.
He coughed blood after using the martial art that blew the intruders away. Another group of intruders approached him again. At the lead was one who seemed to be a woman judging from the shape of her body. Two huge fireballs shrouded her arms. As she thrust her arms forward, the fireballs merged and formed a giant ghostlike face.
He could sense the heat and pressure of this fiery ghost face was not to be trifled with. He mustered what power he could under his condition and punched. His punch obliterated the fiery ghost face and sent the woman intruder flying away.
He might have won the clash, but it opened him up to assaults from the other intruders. He couldn’t defend them all and suffered wounds from their attacks.

Wei Suangsou was still having trouble believing what was going on. This was supposed to be a celebratory day. How did it turn into such a tragedy? His beloved grandson had died. Most of his clan members were lying on the floor. Some succumbed. They stopped moving and turned into cold statues. Others still writhing on the floor were slew like caught animals. A few with higher cultivation, who could still move, fought back at the expense of letting the poison spread further all over their bodies.
"You, bastard! I will skin you for this...!!" Wei Suangsou roared at Amon.
Amon didn’t cover his face after removing his disguise. The maids had all run out of the hall. To him, everyone remaining in this hall was dead people.
"First, you have to catch me," Amon said. He threw his flying knives and needles.
Knives and needles crisscrossed each other as they formed countless shooting stars. Any normal cultivator would find it nearly impossible to dodge or block these many shooting stars, but Wei Suangsou was not your average cultivator.
A translucent metallic shell enveloped his body. He charged forward. All the shooting stars that came into contact with the translucent shell bounced off like it was a solid wall. Wei Suangsou rushed toward Amon like those shooting stars didn’t exist in his path.
