Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 322. Not Today
Chapter 322: Chapter 322. Not Today
Wei Suangsou was alarmed by the sensation. It took him a few seconds to register that it was the poison inside his body that caused the symptom. The battle must have accelerated the spreading of the poison. The meridian points technique he used earlier to slow the poison was no longer effective.
He quickly channeled his energy to stop the poison from spreading further.
"This is our chance! Give him everything we’ve got!" Amon instructed.
Lu Fei used the First Light at Dawn. He was the first to return before Wei Suangsou but didn’t immediately attack. He instead used Blinding Flash, causing Wei Suangsou to lose sight again, before turning back into light and circling toward Wei Suangsou’s back.
Wei Suangsou activated his metallic shell the moment he was blinded. He felt something crashing into his defensive shell from behind.
Qiang Dan also arrived. He channeled the merged water from his River Path and Water Globe into his slash. The water crashed hard onto the shell, which flickered before disappearing. It was clear Wei Suangsou had trouble maintaining his art.
Qiang Dan’s slash proceeded. It collided with a metal blade conjured by Wei Suangsou’s arm chop. The water split from the slash. The energy advanced and cut Qiang Dan’s arm that was holding the glaive. The cut was deep. His bone was visible from the wound. He screamed in pain as he retreated.
Yang Li was close to Qiang Dan when he advanced. She continued forward when Qiang Dan was beaten back. She was again using Ghost Bone Claw powered by Burning Hand. As she advanced, a pair of vines sneaked behind her and slipped into her flames.
The vines were from Amon, who again used Corporeal Shifting Branches. The wood element supported the fire element. Amon had trained with Qiang Dan and Yang Li before this operation. With his proficiency, he had no trouble adjusting his synchronization with different partners. fгeewebnovёl.com
The vines acted as fuel to Yang Li’s flames. The flames consumed the vines and became even fiercer. When the flaming ghost face clashed with Wei Suangsou’s metal blade again, the result was different this time. The blade melted, and the resulting explosion threw both Wei Suangsou and Yang Li back.
Amon, who was behind Yang Li, braced his arms together. Yang Li didn’t need prompting. Her instinct helped her react to Amon’s action even when they didn’t plan for this beforehand. She planted her feet on Amon’s bracing arms. Amon pushed her forward while she kicked back. The force threw her back at Wei Suangsou, who still lost his balance.
Yang Li shot forward. Her lunge was performed using her original martial art, Savage Bestial Claw. Her speed was extreme. Wei Suangsou didn’t have the time to erect his defensive metallic shell when Yang Li’s claw slammed into his stomach.
He still had Iron Skin protecting him, but Yang Li’s flames negated the protection by a great deal. The poison ravaging him also made him unable to channel his full power. The fiery claw shredded his skin and left long trails of bloody gashes.
"Arghh...! Damn you!!" Wei Suangsou cursed. His hand swung down to chop Yang Li’s back. It was a normal chop. No metal blade image was conjured because his aether circulation was too chaotic.
A strong repulsive force stopped his chop before he hit Yang Li’s back. An explosion occurred, attempting to throw his hand back, but he forced that hand forward with sheer strength. The hand slammed into Yang Li’s back and threw her onto the floor.
She was dragged by the momentum. The floor tiles splintered as she scraped the floor. A trail of blood followed her.
When Wei Suangsou struck Yang Li, something else crashed into his back. It was Lu Fei’s foot. His First Light at Dawn granted him sufficient speed to catch the weakened Wei Suangsou’s off-guard.
Wei Suangsou’s Iron Skin protected him from receiving serious damage from the kick, but it was still enough to cause him severe pain. He stumbled forward from the impact.
As he did, he found Amon right before him. His first reaction was gladness because his target had delivered himself to him, but Amon’s grin made him question the situation.
"Checkmate," Amon uttered.
Wei Suangsou had no idea the meaning of the weird word Amon just said. His attention was on Amon’s hand, which had turned pitch-black. This hand formed into a claw and stabbed into his stomach, right at the wounds caused by Yang Li.
He didn’t have the time to worry about that. His hand came chopping. He still couldn’t reform the metal blade following his chop, but he believed the power was enough to kill Amon.
However, Amon again used Xian Cloth. One end of the cloth tied to the swan dagger was embedded deep in the ground. Amon threw the swan dagger down there earlier. The other end was pulled taut above him. When Wei Suangsou’s chop arrived, it hit the Xian Cloth.
As before, the Xian Cloth refused to tear from Wei Suangsou’s powerful chop. The chop was still powerful enough to force the Xian Cloth to bend and hit Amon’s arm behind it. The sound of bone snapping was heard. Amon’s arm bent into an unnatural angle. The blunt force blow persisted and struck Amon’s body behind the arm. Amon experienced a similar fate as Yang Li, except he didn’t crash into the floor. He was sent flying parallel to the floor. When the momentum weakened, he somersaulted and landed on his feet.
He was panting. Blood leaked from his mouth. His arm had deformed beyond recognition. The pain caused him to sweat profusely. Yet, he was grinning.
Wei Suangsou was puzzled by the grin. He wanted to ask what Amon was grinning about, but an alarming sensation in his body made him ignore his curiosity. The cold sensation in his navel was now mixed with a strange burning pain. He looked down and saw black blood leaking from the wounds caused by Yang Li.
The pain intensified. When he tried to use his aether to suppress whatever was happening inside his body, he was shocked to find a new poison had entered his system aside from the two already inside. Even with his cultivation, having three such fierce poisons ravaging his body was too much for him.
He started losing strength and fell to his knees. By then, more Demon Gang members approached. They had mostly slain the other Wei Clan members.
Wei Suangsou looked around him. He was devastated to see the bodies of his clansmen. Was this the end of his clan? He was unwilling. Today was supposed to be the celebratory day of their turning point. They were supposed to have a better future. How did a celebration turn into the annihilation of his clan?
He stared with wide eyes at Amon. He yelled, "You, demon!! You will get what you deserve one day!"
"Maybe, but not today," Amon replied. He then ordered, "Finish him!"
Lu Fei led the other Demon Gang members. They threw their attacks at Wei Suangsou simultaneously. In his current condition, he couldn’t do anything but withstand the attacks.
He didn’t last long.
---------------
In the basement, Wei Linkun and Wei Yunning weren’t aware of their clan’s demise. Wei Linkun was looking at the intruders with a condescending expression, while Wei Yunning was jumping in glee at the prospect of acquiring fresh specimens.
"Don’t kill them, brother! I want them alive!" Wei Yunning demanded.
"I will try my best to capture that girl, but this one," Wei Linkun referred to the gold-fur ape before him. "I might need to put him into a half-dead state."
He wasn’t sure what to make of the ape. He knew it was the man he sent flying outside a moment ago. The man must have used a full-body transformation art. Still, he had a kind of uneasy feeling when he used his Mystic Stage sense to scan the ape.
The naked man on the burner was still screaming as he was cooked. His scream was getting weaker.
"Just don’t damage him too much, especially his head. I want him to be fully conscious of his pain when I play with him," Wei Yunning said.
"You are one sick girl," Tuang Yin remarked.
"Hahaha! I will enjoy it very much when I peel off the skin from your pretty face," Wei Yunning laughed.
Wu Di’s eyes were staring at the tortured man on the burner. He wanted to save the man, but he had experienced what happened when he rushed it. The enemy before him was too strong for him to be careless. He felt bad for the man, but there was nothing he could do for him.
The man’s wailing slowly lessened until he was quiet altogether. All that was left was the hissing sound of his skin burning.
Wu Di clenched his fists. His eyes turned to Wei Yunning before resting on Wei Linkun.
"You will all pay for that," he uttered and charged forward.
His speed took Wei Linkun aback. Even for a full-body transformation art, the difference was too drastic.
Wei Linkun punched just as Wu Di’s fist arrived. The two fists met one another. Wei Linkun fully expected Wu Di to fly back from the contact, but the explosive force resulting from the impact threw both of them back equally.
"Im–Impossible...," Wei Linkun uttered.
