Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 323. Saintly Ape
Chapter 323: Chapter 323. Saintly Ape
The full-body transformation art Wu Di used was called Saintly Ape. He gained this transformation art in a fortunate encounter during a mission. Actually, he was not so fortunate in the mission. His mission was to track and kill a mid-superior spirit beast terrorizing a secluded small town. He almost died during the mission.
The spirit beast was very sneaky. It often took its chance to attack the town when the town soldiers were out hunting for it. When the soldier returned, it had run away. Hence, the mission was handed to the Royal Academy. The soldiers remained guarding the town while the royal academy student went to track the spirit beast.
Wu Di saw this mission as a chance to measure himself against a mid-superior beast. From the info, the spirit beast was a loner. He believed he could defeat a mid-superior beast if it were one-on-one.
What Wu Di didn’t expect was how crafty the spirit beast was. It lured him into a trap and ambushed him. He was badly wounded and was forced to flee. The spirit beast didn’t let him off that easy, though. It chased him for two days and two nights. Wu Di only escaped its pursuit when he accidentally fell into a small hole in the ground.
The fall was pretty deep. He was unconscious from the fall, his wounds, and the fatigue after running non-stop for two days. When he came around, he found himself inside some sort of an ancient ruin. He decided to stay there until his wound recovered.
During his recovery, he started looking around the ruin. He didn’t find anything at first. There was a sign of plundering, so most valuables should have been taken. But then, he noticed a part of the decaying wall. There was a cavity. Time had ground the wall and revealed a hidden space inside. He inspected this cavity and found a book.
After reading it, he learned it was a full-body transformation art of the low-tier profound grade.
He was ecstatic about the find. Profound-grade art was extremely rare. Even most Martial Realm cultivators didn’t possess an art of this grade. Only those with high ranks in the kingdom had such art and mostly possessed the low-tier ones.
Normally, only Martial Realm cultivators could learn arts of the profound grade. The art was too difficult for Human Realm cultivators to practice. Amon had a few low-tier profound arts in his Pyramid Library, which was the highest grade available in the library. He hadn’t learned any of them. It was not for lack of trying. Even with his keen understanding and determined attempt, he still failed to learn one.
Wu Di managed to learn the Saintly Ape because the art used light elements. His S-affinity allowed him to break the limitation of regular cultivators. He spent weeks practicing the art. Thankfully, he brought nourishment pills, which was standard practice for every student on a mission. The nourishment pills fed him so he didn’t die of hunger.
His elemental affinity, combined with his talent, determination, and his desire for survival, allowed him to practice the art to the beginner mastery. He could only maintain the art for around one minute with beginner mastery, but he already discovered why a profound-grade art was so valuable from his first transformation.
His wounds, caused by the fall and the mid-superior spirit beast, healed at a rapid rate. He needed to transform several times before he was fully healed. He needed a rather long rest between transformations, so he spent a few days doing that. With those transformations, he also got used to the ape state.
After he was fully healed, he went back out. Surprisingly, the spirit beast was still waiting for him. It couldn’t chase Wu Di into the hole because the hole was too small, but it knew from Wu Di’s scent that Wu Di was still alive inside the hole.
Wu Di transformed into the Saintly Ape and swiftly defeated the spirit beast. This was because when he was transformed, he possessed the power rivaling a Beginning Mystic Stage cultivator.
This was his secret weapon. It was why he told Tuang Yin to leave Wei Linkun to him. Additionally, his mastery of the art had improved since then. He was now at the skilled mastery and could maintain the transformation for five minutes.
Wu Di utilized Wei Linkun’s surprise to gain the advantage. He lunged back and performed rapid punches. Thanks to his transformation, his arms also lengthened, giving him a long reach.
Wei Linkun reacted late because of his surprise. He ended up covering himself using his arms to prevent injury. Wu Di’s arms battered him relentlessly.
Wu Di ended his barrage with a strong punch. The punch resulted in a powerful explosion that blew Wei Linkun’s arms out of their defending positions. Yet, it didn’t stop there. Wu Di was holding his punching arm. Like a piston, a second energy blast was discharged. This blast hit Wei Linkun and threw him back.
What Wu Di used was the Ignition Fist. He had trained this art to the Master level. At this mastery, his punch unleashed two consecutive explosive blasts.
Wei Linkun felt as if a bomb had detonated on his face. He had trouble opening his eyes as he staggered back. Despite not seeing, he could sense his opponent. He knew Wu Di was pushing on the offensive.
A rock layer materialized around his body as Wu Di came punching. Wu Di’s fist slammed into the rock layer, producing a loud impact sound. Yet, the rock layer was sturdy. No cracks were seen on its surface.
Rocks accumulated in Wei Linkun’s fists, turning them into rock fists of gigantic proportions. His fist smashed into Wu Di’s side, forcing him to back off.
Wu Di’s face winced from the pain. The broken bones in his chest were already mending, but they still hurt like hell. This hit in his side probably caused a few new cracks.
The rock layer on Wei Linkun was still growing. It almost covered his whole body. His head was still exposed. He touched his nose, which was bleeding from Wu Di’s Ignition Fist. He glared at Wu Di in anger. He never expected a junior like Wu Di to wound him. He decided to stop underestimating his opponent. The rock layer grew and covered his head, turning him into a humanoid rock creature.
The art he used was not transformation art. It was a defensive arcane art, Rock Suit. Gao Dou used the same art when he fought Xin Wuming. However, the rock suit displayed by Wei Linkun was like a different art. This was because his mastery of this art was already at the Master level.
With the giant rock fists in his two hands, he looked like a rock golem.
"I’m going to pummel you to a mush," he threatened.

When Wu Di showed he could match Wei Linkun, Tuang Yin stopped staying still. Flames burst from her two hands. She jumped forward. The flames on her formed into the image of a giant eagle. Her target was Wei Yunning.
Wei Yunning moved away while grinning.
"I will protect you, miss!" The jailer exclaimed as he came into Tuang Yin’s path.
The jailer was only a Peak Strength Stage cultivator. He was not Tuang Yin’s opponent. The fire eagle made a swoop. It circled the jailer with blinding movements. Blood started spurting from the jailer. His body was also combusted. He screamed as he burned to death.
"Haha, not bad," Wei Yunning laughed. A pair of kunai appeared in her hands.
"I will tear that smile off your face," Tuang Yin uttered.
"Good idea! That will be the first thing I do to you once I have you bound," Wei Yunning returned.
Fiery claws clashed with steel kunai. The two women knew they had the same cultivation level from that first clash. Tuang Yin’s eagle claws were fast, but Wei Yunning’s knife play could keep up. Tuang Yin’s fire was searing hot, but Wei Yunning continued to laugh despite being in close vicinity every time they clashed. It was as if she didn’t feel the heat.
Wei Yunning’s kunai suddenly split and rotated at the ring by the end of its hilt, turning into a double-bladed kunai. The weapon transformation caught Tuang Yin off-guard. She misread Wei Yunning’s moves and ended up receiving a cut in her abdomen.
Luckily, the cut wasn’t too deep. She jumped back to reassess the situation.
The kunai on Wei Yunning’s other hand also transformed into the double-bladed version. She held the transformed kunai at the ring in the center. The kunai started spinning rapidly. Her hands were like holding two rotator blades.
Her body also spun like the kunai in her hands as she advanced. She was like a whirlwind. The winds she generated were sharp enough that they left cut marks on the wall and the floor.
"Come on! Let me cut you more!" She exclaimed.
