Chapter 324: Chapter 324. Where was the Reinforcement?

Wei Yunning’s martial arts utilized her weapons effectively. Tuang Yin chose not to be careless. She moved back as her opponent approached.

Tuang Yin took out her weapon, a pair of metal claws linked with a steel chain. She wore one in her hand and threw the other one at the incoming whirlwind. The metal claw produced a clanging sound when it collided with the whirlwind. The metal claw rebounded. The whirlwind did not slow.

Tuang Yin performed a high jump when the whirlwind arrived. Her claw gripped the ceiling. It kept her hanging from the ceiling while the whirlwind whirled below.

The whirlwind slowed to a stop, revealing Wei Yunning. She jumped up to reach Tuang Yin on the ceiling.

The kunai in Wei Yunning’s hands still spun like rotator blades, but without her whirlwind martial arts, it was less menacing. Tuang Yin let go of the ceiling and swooped down like an eagle. The metal claws in her hands clanged with Wei Yunning’s rotating kunai.

After the clash, the flames around Tuang Yin exploded into fireworks. The fireworks turned into countless flaming claws that surrounded Wei Yunning.

Wei Yunning couldn’t turn into a whirlwind in the air. Instead, she threw her spinning kunai. The two kunai revolved around her rapidly, forming a tornado around her. The kunai cut all the flaming claws targeting her.

The two women seemed equal in power and ability as they fought. The two men, on the other side, also displayed an even match despite their powers being vastly distinct.

Wei Linkun’s rock suit granted him excellent protection. The giant rock fists in his two hands could easily break stones. However, the rock suit caused his movements to become sluggish. Wu Di, on the other hand, showed dazzling speed. He didn’t have the firepower to break through Wei Linkun’s rock suit, but Wei Linkun was also unable to touch him.

Wu Di didn’t use the Ignition Fist because the art required a pause during contact. Wei Linkun could smash him with his giant fists if he was not careful. He had already suffered two punches from Wei Linkun. He didn’t think he could withstand another one. So, he executed rapid punches using a hit-and-run method. Wei Linkun didn’t care about those weak punches. He continued swinging his fists at Wu Di whenever Wu Di came close.

In this situation, it was Wu Di who was at a disadvantage. His transformation art had a time limit. He would be finished once the Saintly Ape ran out of duration. Even so, he continued to land weak punches on Wei Linkun’s rock suit, seemingly with no result.

More than four minutes passed with this repetitious pattern. Wei Linkun wasn’t worried. To him, time was on his side. He did not doubt the aether expenditure of his Rock Suit was much less than the transformation art Wu Di was using. He was sure Wu Di would run out of aether before him. Plus, the longer the enemy remained here, the more likely the Wei Clan would send reinforcement down here.

Suddenly, Wu Di’s body started glimmering. The brightness intensified, and Wei Linkun had to squint his eyes. Was Wu Di trying to blind him? He scoffed at the idea. Not only could he sense Wu Di’s position, but it also didn’t matter if he couldn’t see. Even if he just stood still, Wu Di still couldn’t hurt him.

The light emitted by Wu Di didn’t increase to blinding intensity, but he still vanished from Wei Linkun’s sight. Wei Linkun focused on his ability to detect other’s presence and was surprised to sense Wu Di was all around him.

What Wu Di used was light-element offensive arcane art. He split into multiple imitations of himself made of light. All these light clones punched the different spots on Wei Linkun’s Rock Suit. Cracking sounds were heard when these fists landed. Wei Linkun was shocked to find the rock suit protecting him crumbled from this assault.

Wu Di might appear like he was doing pointless attacks with his punches earlier, but he was actually very mindful of each punch. He seemed to be punching randomly, but he only landed his punch at ten specific spots. Because of the repetition, the damage in those spots accumulated. He continued doing this until the last minute of his Saintly Ape before he used his ace move.

The offensive art he used was Light-speed Multi-strikes. He learned this arcane art by exchanging his academic points. This art bestowed him incredible speed for an instant to execute multiple assaults that seemingly landed simultaneously.

The increase of power granted by the arcane art, combined with the built-up damage, allowed him to crack open the defensive shell protecting Wei Linkun.

While Wei Linkun was still stunned, Wu Di reassembled into one body. His hand was glowing. He thrust his hand forward. The glow elongated into a blade. The blade was aimed at Wei Linkun’s neck.

Wei Linkun was stunned enough that he was late in dodging the fatal attack but not too late to react. One of the two rock fists shot out from his hand. The rock fist hit Wu Di and caused his hand to swerve. The light blade that was about to slice Wei Linkun’s neck deviated from its course. It ended up only grazing his neck.

"Fuck!" Wu Di cursed. He gambled his chance for this attack. He didn’t expect Wei Linkun could shoot his rock fists like a projectile. He could feel his Saintly Ape nearing its end. He would return to his human form anytime soon. Hence, he needed to end this battle before that happened. He continued advancing.

Wu Di understood he was short on time, but he remained vigilant. After seeing Wei Linkun shoot one of the two rock fists, he paid attention to the remaining one. Wei Linkun did not disappoint him. The second rock fist was fired when Wei Linkun saw Wu Di carry on with his offense.

Wu Di dodged the rock projectile using his uncanny speed. His long-reaching arm then punched into Wei Linkun’s gut. The rock fists were gone, so he was not too worried about a retaliation strike. He used Ignition Fist this time. The Ignition Fist’s double detonation exploded once the punch connected. The blast sent Wei Linkun smashing into the wall. He vomited blood upon the impact.

"Brother...!!" Wei Yunning yelled.

She was winning in her fight against Tuang Yin. Tuang Yin’s scorching flames made it hard for an opponent to fight her in melee, but these flames didn’t bother Wei Yunning much. Firstly, it was because Wei Yunning’s kunai could fly around her, performing mid-range attacks. Secondly, it was because she had a high pain tolerance. As long as the flames didn’t touch her, she could endure the heat.

Tuang Yin’s body was filled with cut wounds. They weren’t deep, but they still frustrated her. She didn’t expect a royal academy student like her to lose to a girl from a small clan. She must admit, though, that Wei Yunning’s control over her flying kunai was otherworldly.

When Wu Di sent Wei Linkun crashing into the wall, Wei Yunning showed concern for the first time. She was distracted. Tuang Yin didn’t miss this chance. She threw her chained claw shrouded by flames. The claw latched onto one of Wei Yunning’s arms. The claw carved three lines of long gashes along her arm. It also left burning wounds along those gashes.

"Aahhh...!!!" This was also the first time Wei Yunning screamed in pain. She lost her grip over the kunai on that wounded arm.

"You, bitch! I will skin you! I will cut you!! I will kill you...!!!" Wei Yunning yelled erratically. She slapped the chained claw away using her one remaining kunai.

The pain made her forget about her brother. Wei Linkun himself didn’t have the time to be concerned about his sister. Wu Di was rushing toward him. freeweɓnovel.cøm

However, before Wu Di arrived, his body shrank and returned to its original form. Wei Linkun punched at this time. The wave produced by his punch swept Wu Di and sent him tumbling back. Without the Saintly Ape form, Wu Di could not compete against Wei Linkun’s power.

When Wei Linkun was about to retaliate on Wu Di, multiple broken swords flew at him. His arms moved rapidly, parrying the swords. However, the wound in his stomach made him sluggish. He failed to block two swords. These swords stabbed into his shoulder and waist.

"Urgh...!" Thanks to his Mystic Stage body, the swords didn’t pierce deep enough to cause serious wounds to his internal organs. The one who threw the swords had lower cultivation than him. Still, these wounds caused him to bleed.

"Leave him to us!" Xin Wuming said when he rushed past Wu Di, who was down on the floor. He had arrived with the five other Demon Gang members.

Xin Wuming and four members assaulted the wounded Wei Linkun. He sent the other member to assist Tuang Yin.

Wei Yunning was flabbergasted by the situation. Why did the enemy’s reinforcement arrive before theirs? She had activated the alarm earlier when he used the word of power on the wall. Where were the Wei Clan members? Did the alarm malfunction?

She didn’t have the time to ponder for long. The situation had turned on them. Before the demon gang member arrived to gang up on her, she pulled back.

"Where are you going?" Tuang Yin gave chase but stopped soon.

She stopped because Wei Yunning placed her kunai over Madam Lin’s neck.
