SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 88 - EIGHTY EIGHT
Chapter 88: Chapter EIGHTY EIGHT
- HAZEL -
I never knew there were more to designs till today. Seeing this woman and these people work their ass off while putting things on me for me really amuses me.
Knowing whatever outfit I decide on will be made today on such short notice really has me stunned. I can’t even imagine how stressful this is for them and how expensive it will be.
"I like this one. The material is soft on my skin, yet elegant." I say, swirling in the dress while looking at myself in the mirror. It’s a crimson red lacey dress, like those the princess in the Victorian era wore. Just the not to pleasant and kind princesses.
Natalie gives me a good look, sizing me from head to toe. "It is nice. But do you really want to be in an evil princess dress at a party? Movement surely won’t be easy."
Hmm. She does have a point. I don’t even know what I want. "I’d love a dress. Maybe something less ballgown-y and more," I pause, trying to think of a word to use. What evil Disney villain can a middle aged woman know? "Maleficent and Eris." I mixed a combo of DreamWorks’s Eris. "But way different." I say. "I can go through Pinterest to show you the characters if you’d like."
"No, darling, that’s fine. I’ll come up with something." Natalie says and I stare at her through the mirror, flashing her a smile.
"Thank you." I murmur. Prior to this moment, I thought I’d be Dracula or a wicked witch or pirate with trousers and all things bloody but which girly girl can resist elegant, villainy dresses?
"Girls, leave us." Natalie says in a more serious tone. Her staff exit the room immediately, leaving just the two of us alone. I admire how good this fabric looks on my skin. It’s simply dazzling. "You’re a very intriguing character-" She says. I turn to look at her then notice she’s waiting for me to say my name.
"Hazel." I complete her sentence. How intriguing? I’m tempted to ask but didn’t. "And thank you." I say instead.
"What if I don’t mean that in a good way?" She asks, taking a step closer to me. Her eyes are peering all over me cautiously.
My lips form a line. "Then I can only wonder why and respond the same way with appreciation."
Natalie laughs. "Impressive reply. Although, you shouldn’t care because I’m simply a stylist."
"One who’s accustomed to Killian." I add.
Her half smile seemed to utter the words, ’accustomed? Honey we run deep.’ and I wonder how I can tell that by just one smile. Plus, she looks like she’s onto something.
"Are you a highschooler?"
"University." I say. "In my second year in university."
"Ah, so you’re in your twenties." That wasn’t a question although from her tone, I can tell she demands an answer, so was it a question? Or an easy guess?
"Getting there. I’ll be twenty in a few months."
"Hm." The disapproval in her tone wasn’t missed. She suddenly doesn’t seem intrigued. A sigh leaves her lips as she turn to face the clothes rack, backing me. "I don’t know who’s the bigger fool, Killian or you."
My brows crease.
"You’re young, Hazel. Way too young. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into." Natalie continues.
I scoff. I can’t believe I thought for a second that she won’t judge me. "You know, Natalie, the last thing I want is a stylist I just met thinking she can have a say in my relationship. Like you said, it’s none of your business and you definitely shouldn’t mind it." I blurt out without thinking. I’ve passed the stage of judging myself about being with Killian.
And I’m legal. Fully legal and mature enough to have a mind of my own so she shouldn’t make it seem like I was groomed. I swallow.
I may come to regret speaking to her this way later, especially if she says a word to Killian, but now I know why Killian told her not to interrogate me.
Natalie turns to face me. "Feisty. Quite the character." She says, unbothered by what I just said.
I roll my eyes. "If you do your job quietly, this customer will be gladder." I say turning around. I don’t want to see her anymore so I focus my gaze on my body.
A hand lands on my shoulder. "With that attitude, you wouldn’t last a day in the underworld."
The underworld? What the heck does she even mean? Is she speaking in my party theme sense now?
"Always listen and know the person before you before letting your mouth run due to temper. It’ll save you from a lot of unfavorable situations."
I take a deep breath and exhale gently. I don’t even want to take in this gibberish she’s saying and ruin my mood. Whoever wants to pry in my business should be worried about what I’ll do to them.
"For future purposes, darling. It is not my intention to get on your nerves. I’m simply informing you."
I turn to face her, slapping her hand off my shoulder. Informing me to be tame and let someone talk about me to my face and say things I don’t want to hear in front of me without regard? No thanks. "Thank you but I don’t need it."
Natalie stares into my eyes, looking deeping into each eye simultaneously. "Oh dear. You don’t know." She blinks. Shock suddenly plasters her face. "You naive, naive little girl."
Just because I’m nineteen, doesn’t make me little!
I choose to ignore. Something good is coming to me tonight. I don’t want a conversation to give me bad blood and ruin this. Plus, I never have to deal with Natalie again after today.
At least, that I hope.
"I’m here with refreshments." Killian’s voice resonates from outside. I feel a sense of relief. This room was getting too choking for the two of us.
Natalie gives me a stare. "I guess we can have a break." She says politely with a warm smile. Almost like she wasn’t being rude a few minutes ago. This kind of ticks me off.
I walk out to meet Killian. My arms wrap around him the moment I sight him. "Ugh, felt like years." I say, squeezing his body into mine.
Killian’s arms surround me, feeling my back and pulling me deeper into his chest like he wants to merge our bodies. I like the way he hugs me, I can tell he missed me. "Got you some chocolate shake with chicken thighs, fries and pizza."
My mouth water immediately. "You always know food is the way to my heart." I tip toe, bending his head lower and kiss his cheek. I make my way to the sofa where branded shopping nylons are.
My attention is off everything else but the food packs before me. The first thing I sip out from is the milkshake. My eyes roll back in my sockets. I’ll do anything for chocolate.
A woman says something in a foreign language. It’s Natalie. I look up. She has an angry look on her face coupled with disgust as she looks at Killian.
Killian responds in the same way, just with his face looking calm and less aggressive than hers. He spoke whatever language she just used to converse with him and I can tell she obviously doesn’t want me knowing what she said. I don’t care.
Killian walks to me. "I’ll be back in a minute." He says, brushing his thumb on my cheek. I nod.
"Don’t take too long." I say to him, my mouth half full.
Killian presses his lips on my forehead then leaves. I wonder if their conversation has anything to do with what Natalie and I talked about in the changing room.
I take another bite out of the chicken thighs. If it is, Killian will hear my side as well.
