Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Luan grinned, waiting patiently for her answer.
Celia looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to her. Then leaning in, she whispered. "Alright, I'll do it, but please take it easy on me."
Luan nodded at her words. "Deal," he replied, shaking her hand.
"Now I have a question: can I just kill monsters and take the corpses here for a reward, or can I only do commissions?" He inquired, looking at the commission board that was placed opposite to the bar.
"You can hunt monsters and take their corpses here, but that is less rewarding for commissions. You get a commission reward, and if it's monster hunting, you also get rewards for the corpses you bring in." Celia explained, trying her best to keep her act together.
"Well, that would normally be the case, I would say, but we're newbies, so we need to start from the lowest rank, no?" Luan asked.
"That's correct, young master. And raising your rank is not something you can do because you want to, so if you want to earn money fast, it could be better to just hunt monsters without taking commissions." Celia said.
Luan stroked his chin a couple of times, deep in thought. "Alright, thanks for the info, and see ya later." Without waiting for Celia to reply, he walked out of the building with Kafele and Luciano following right behind him.
Celia looked at him, mouth agape. She wanted to scream for him to wait, but remembering what he had asked of her just now, she shut her mouth. Turning around, she closed her counter.
She needed to get the adventurers cards to Luan and his two servants, or she would definitely not be able to face the consequences when he finds out about that when he returns.
Jumping into action, she is going through all the procedures to get the cards as fast as possible.

Strolling leisurely through the capital, Luan looked around, taking in the scenery of this world.
Luciano and Kafele were following close behind him, hands on their swords, to make sure nothing would happen to Luan.
They had seen him manipulate lightning and other elements, so they assumed he was a mage or his sigil had something to do with magic.
Making them more alert right now, if anyone attacked them without warning, they would hold them off while Luan could prepare his magic, they thought.
Luan, on the other hand, had no idea that his servants had misunderstood his abilities, nor would he care if he knew it.
He was looking at buildings and their prices to see if what Kian said would be a good estimate for the starting capital needed for his business.
And of course he was also checking out the prizes of slaves; he's going to need a lot of them.
Taking a careful look over a lot of things, he had come to the conclusion that around ten thousand gold coins would be a good start.
A sigh escaped from his mouth. "That is going to take a while," he muttered, but he wasn't going to let that discourage him.
He had much greater plans than just starting a single business; if only that much would be enough to stop his ambitions, he would never amount to anything in this second chance at life.
Shaking his head, he slapped himself on the cheeks. "Enough loitering around, let's get started on earning some more funds," he said, flashing a grin.
"Wait up young master!" he heard someone scream from behind.
Kafele and Luciano drew their swords and surrounded Luan in reaction. Luan glanced at both with an approving glint in his eyes.
Then he turned toward the feminine voice that had just shouted at whom he assumed was himself.
"Oh? Isn't that Celia?" He said, "Stand down, you two."
Kafele and Luciano withdrew their swords but were still keeping their eyes peeled and looked around to make sure nothing would happen.
Huffing, Celia caught her breath; she had been running around the capital trying to find Luan. And luckily for her, he hadn't left yet.
"Young master, you forgot your guild card." saying that she handed Luan three cards with their names and ranks on them.
"Frank, could you not have tampered with it a little, my dear Celia?" Luan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Celia's blood ran cold hearing Luan's question; she looked left then right, making sure no one was listening.
Stepping forward, she tiptoed to reach Luan's ear, who immediately gave Kafele and Luciano a sign to stay put.
"I... If I did that, I would be fired immediately, young master; please be reasonable with your requests," she whispered in his ear.
Luan nodded, feeling it made sense. If she were to be fired so fast, he wouldn't have had any advantages.
"Alright, oh, and thanks for the cards," he said, giving her a quick hug, making sure to squish her soft body against his own.
Celia's ears turned bright red; she wanted to break free but knew she couldn't afford to, so she just let Luan do his thing.
Releasing Celia, Luan turned around. "We'll be back in a couple of days. Better be prepared then." Saying that, he strolled away, whistling a random tune.

Kafele and Luciano bowed to Celia and followed Luan promptly.
Celia, left standing there, wanted to cry, but she kept it together. One saving grace is that Luan was from the Meskevela household, who don't stay in the capital long, so she just had to endure it for now, until Luan finally left.
Stomping her feet a couple of times, she spat at the ground and turned around, walking back toward the guild.

Outside the city walls, Luan, still in a good mood, kept walking back to the carriage. "We'll take a quick break at the carriage, and after that, it's time to earn some funds." a grin on his face, remembering Celia's soft body.
"My lord, is there any reason why you are doing this to that receptionist?" Kafele asked; he couldn't hold it in any longer.
From what he had seen Luan do the last couple of days, he would have never thought he would do something like that.
Luan stopped walking, turning toward Kafele. "Why do you want to know?" he inquired, raising an eyebrow; all kinds of thoughts ran through his mind.
Kafele scratched his ear, evading eye contact, and in a soft voice, he replied. "Well, I never expected you to act like that."
Luan scoffed. "Why? Well, no matter; you barely know anything about me. And fine, I'll tell you." signaling for him to come closer.
Luan whispered, "Because I can. Don't ever question me again; I am your lord. What I do is none of your business."
