Chapter 21: Chapter 21
After returning to the carriage, Luan and his group took a short rest, recovering from the day's events before heading into the forest. The atmosphere remained relaxed, though Kafele still seemed unsettled after their earlier conversation.
Seated comfortably, Luan turned his attention to Lily, spreading rough sketches on the table. "Let's go over these again," he said, tapping one of the blueprints. "I want to make sure everything is planned before putting things into motion."
Lily nodded. "I've made a few refinements based on your suggestions. If we improve the design here and there, we can improve the quality without increasing the workload too much."
Luan smirked, satisfied with the progress. "Good, and remember you can ask the others to help you acquire the materials from the forest. After we're done with the hunt, we'll head back to the capital and buy the leftover materials."
"Then it's time to make some real money," he stated, a grin on his face. Just imagining how lucrative this business could become made him excited.
With their plans reviewed and their energy restored, they prepared for the hunt.
"Ava, you can start moving deeper into the woods. Kian, you stay with her to guard her." Luan ordered, leaning back into the sofa. Patiently waiting for them to find some monsters or anything that could make them some money.

When Luan felt the carriage come to a stop, he stood up, glancing outside the window. There he saw it: goblins. They looked like small, ugly humans with their bright green skin and ugly faces.
"Kafele, Luciano, get ready; we found some prey finally." Luan said with a smile on his face. Luciano nodded, grabbing his gear, while Kafele looked at Luan, hesitating for a while but ultimately also grabbing his gear.
Standing in front of the door, Luan looked at both of them. "You two take the right; I'll take the left. Quickly finish them off; we don't have time to loiter around."
With that, Luan opened the door, sprinting out and running at the goblins on the left.
Lightning crackling around his hands, he fused with Vira and Lumi.
His pace escalating rapidly, each burst of speed made him exponentially faster.
Appearing in front of one of the goblins in an instant, he coated his hand in lightning and sliced through its head, disappearing from his spot immediately after.
The other four goblins looked around surprised; they thought they had heard something crackling, but they didn't see anything.
"Grrr'kash!" The goblin at the front snarled, baring its teeth.
The other three goblins all shouted. "Klik-klik!" in unison. grabbing their crude weapons and spreading, turning their backs to each other.
But when they turned, one of them screamed. "Grrraaa!" pointing at the dead goblin with half his skull missing.
The leader looked at where his underling was pointing and grabbed his rusty cleaver, looking around to see who could have done that.
And right before his eyes another goblin's head vanished, the only trace of someone attacking the unsettling sound, lightning crackling.
Luan stood on a tree branch, holding a goblin head, with an evil smirk on his face. "I didn't expect it to feel this good to kill monsters." After saying that, he disappeared once more.
Going for another of the goblin underlings, accelerating, he decapitated an arm this time, stopping in sight of the goblins this time.
He looked at the three goblins, and he scorched the arm with lightning for them all to see, with that same evil grin on his face.
Mara appeared above the goblins and let it rain right above them, and Luan just snapped his fingers, sending lightning right at the drenched goblins.
Watching as the goblins were getting electrocuted to death, his grin not fading at all.
After the last goblin let out its final cry, Luan lazily turned around. "Ah, no, I can't sell those. I'll have to remember that for next time," he muttered.
His hands interlinking behind his head, he looked at Kafele and Luciano, who were dragging two goblin corpses each toward the carriage.
"Good job, guys, just put them on top of the carriage," he said as they all walked back toward the carriage leisurely.
Luciano cleared his throat. "My lord, why are you not carrying any corpses? Did you not kill them?" he asked.
Luan shrugged. "I had a little bit too much fun, and the bodies are in very bad shape," he replied.
Kafele and Luciano looked at each other, a look of surprise on their faces. 'A noble had too much fun killing monsters?' Kafele thought he couldn't comprehend his lord.
It was like he was acting however he wanted, not minding all the etiquette nobles learned; he still remembered how his parents spoke about nobles.
"Kafele remembers nobles will never dirty their own hands, never. If it's war, they'll let their troops do their dirty work, and in hunts the same, or even the servants." Kafele shook his head; he had to try and get rid of this image he had of nobles.
His lord clearly did not belong to those types of nobles. A small smile appeared on his face.

Luciano raised an eyebrow at Kafele. "Why are you smiling now? Weren't you uncomfortable with how the lord acted a couple of hours ago?" he asked.
Kafele just shrugged. "I was, yes, but I think I'm starting to like the Lord. He doesn't pretend like all the others. How I view him is he is true to his heart and desires." Kafele said proudly.
Luciano looked at him, then at Luan's back, who was strolling leisurely toward the carriage, not minding his servant's talk.
A smile appeared on his face as well. "You might be right, and I think we're going to see a lot of interesting things by following him." Luciano replied.
Kafele nodded, and they both seemed to come to a consensus; even if they weren't always ok with how Luan would act, they would still serve him dutifully, as that is their duty as butlers.
