Chapter 253: New Quest
With the tension gone from racing to save the Elf’s life, the party realized just how small the cabin was.
"Do you really have to be so damn big?" Penny complained as she squeezed into the room right behind Greg. The latter had a sheepish look on his face, he was already at his smallest possible size at the moment.
After a minute, Penny was successfully able to squeeze by Greg and now found herself between Crystal and Aria. However, now that she was so close to them, she found herself nearly eye level with their breasts...and it ticked her off.
With a frown, she took out the Blindfold and dress she had made and shoved them towards the two girls. However, Penny’s hands inadvertently pressed up against a soft part of their body, something Penny lacked in comparison to them.
’Goddamn it! Why does it have to be so soft!’
Aria and Crystal blushed as well at the unexpected situation and they shot glares at the two guys to check if they had seen what happened. Leo had been at the forefront so his back was turned to them so he didn’t see anything.
As for Greg, he was too busy trying to not smash his head off one of the beams in the ceiling to pay attention to the brief situation that occurred.
Penny yanked her hands back like she’d just touched a live wire, cheeks flushing red as she cursed under her breath.
"I made this or the two of you. It should fit, though I can make adjustments later if needed" novelbuddy-cσ๓
Penny muttered softly as she looked away, embarrassed.
Crystal cleared her throat, still blushing but trying to play it cool. "Thanks, Rose. I’ll try on the blindfold now."
Crystal hesitated for a moment, then slowly lifted the old blindfold from her eyes. She held Penny’s gift up, examining the fabric with a curious expression.
"Okay, let’s see how this one feels."
Carefully, she tied the new blindfold around her head. Almost immediately, a subtle warmth spread across her temples, and she blinked open her eyes behind the cloth, surprised.
"This is... actually a lot more comfortable," Crystal said, a hint of awe in her voice. "And my stats just improved a little. What did you put in this?"
"I am a crafter! I put in my heart and soul!" Penny remarked with a puffed up chest, her pride and ego receiving a boost from the praise.
Aria watched quietly as Crystal adjusted the blindfold, a soft smile tugging at her lips. When it was her turn, she took the dress from Penny’s hands, feeling the fabric glide smoothly through her fingers.
She lifted the dress carefully, slipping it over her head and letting it fall naturally around her. The material was light and breathable, hugging her curves without feeling restrictive.
Aria slipped into the dress, using her inventory to equip the leather dress automatically with the soft fabric settling against her skin. She spun around slowly, admiring how light and comfortable it felt.
"It’s really pretty," she said, voice soft with a hint of embarrassment. Then she glanced down. "But... it only reaches mid-thigh."
She hesitated, tugging the hem a little lower, though it barely made a difference.
"It’s perfect for my wings, though. There’s enough room for them to move freely without getting tangled."
Aria shifted uncomfortably, then glanced around the cramped cabin.
"I just hope flying in this won’t cause any... issues. You know, with the dress being so short and all. I’d hate for anyone to accidentally see up it if I’m not careful."
Penny’s eyes flicked toward Aria with a thoughtful look.
"That’s a good point. I can whip up some pants for you when I get a chance. Should help keep things modest while you’re in the air."
Aria smiled gratefully, a little relieved.
"That would be amazing. Thanks, Penny."
The small cabin felt a little less cramped now, the tension easing with the promise of practical solutions and thoughtful friends.
The Elven healer however was not impressed. A vein was throbbing near her forehead. She then raised and pointed her staff at the girls and Greg who had finally managed to get inside the cabin safely without breaking anything.
"You lot, wait outside!"
The sharp command cut through the quiet like a whip. Everyone froze.
Greg grumbled under his breath, clearly frustrated. "I just got in here. Now I have to leave again?"
Leo stepped forward calmly. "I’m staying. I need to oversee the healing."
The healer’s eyes flicked to Leo, then back to the others. Her staff remained raised as she said firmly, "You, all of you except him, wait outside. The space is cramped and tense. It’s not good for the patient or for my work."
Penny sighed, crossing her arms as she gave Leo a wary glance. Crystal and Aria exchanged uncertain looks but began moving toward the door.
Greg shook his head but didn’t argue. "Fine, but don’t take too long."
Outside, the group gathered quietly, awaiting to hear from Leo.
Now alone in the cabin, the Healer took Leo deeper within where a frail looking elf lay on a bed. Their skin was pale and they were a bit gaunt but by no means did it appear that there was any danger to their life anymore.
The elf’s tired eyes flickered weakly toward Leo as they tried to lift themselves but failed, sinking back against the thin mattress with a soft sigh.
"I’m sorry, benefactor," the voice rasped, rough and worn.
Leo knelt beside the bed, offering a calm smile. "No need to apologize. You’re safe now. That’s what matters."
The healer moved silently, beginning to prepare her herbs and tools with practiced efficiency.
The cabin felt quiet, save for the faint rustle of leaves outside and the soft breath of the elf.
"I’m sorry but I must ask you for one more favor." the elven princess rasped
Leo’s gaze sharpened as he looked at the frail elf, sensing the weight behind those words.
"I will do what I can," he replied steadily.
The healer glanced toward Leo with a subtle nod before focusing back on her preparations.
The elf’s voice was barely above a whisper. "The forest is not safe. There are... forces beyond the orcs. Darkness moves through the shadows. They gather at a dungeon near where you saved me. Please eliminate the threat...or everyone shall suffer."
Leo’s eyes narrowed, the gravity of the elf’s warning settling heavily in the room.
"I understand," he said quietly. "We will deal with this threat. You have my word."
A soft ding accentuated Leo’s words.
