SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 30: Experience Points
The strength of Awakened Professionals were mainly attributed to their levels and tiers.
Levels could be considered minor checkpoints for an Awakened, while Tiers could be considered major ones.
When a Professional has a level increase, they would get Free Attributes and would be able to allocate them toward their desired attribute.
When a Professional increases their Tier, it means their base attributes would be multiplied, allowing them to get a significant increase in their overall strength.
And for a Professional to increase their level and tier, the only way was to gain experience points.
There were actually countless ways to gain experience points.
Killing a monster, clearing a dungeon, killing a dungeon boss, crafting an item, and concocting a potion were just some of the many ways an Awakened Professional could gain experience points.
However, receiving them was not as simple as it seems.
For example, killing a monster does not always mean that the killer will gain experience points.
If one were unlucky, one would only be able to gain experience points after killing twenty monsters. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The same could be said toward crafting items and creating potions. Not every successful creation could net them experience points.
The whole process was said to be so random that the only sure way to gain experience points was by killing the dungeon boss or by clearing a dungeon. And the experience gained in such scenarios was also not the same.
It was as if Awakened Professionals were constantly getting evaluated, and depending on their evaluation, they would be getting appropriate experience points as rewards.
"How much did you get?" Noah could not help but ask eagerly upon hearing Elena.
"I got 5 percent for killing that goblin," she answered truthfully.
The experience points gained by Awakened Professionals also come as a percentage instead of an exact numerical value.
Getting 5% experience points for just dealing the last blow was actually a very good amount.
Desther looked at Lexie, trying to discern something.
As far as he knew, assisting a kill could also allow one to gain experience points.
"I got 7 percent," she said.
Even her voice was tinged with excitement. It was apparent how rare it was to gain experience points after killing two goblins.
"Congrats!" Desther stated as the two ladies got busy checking their newly unlocked Profile Status.
"You should check your Profile Status as well," he said while looking at Noah.
"Right, thanks, bro!" Noah hurriedly said as his gaze lost focus.
Shaking his head at how carefree they were, he began to use his dagger and cut the goblin’s ears.
This could become their proof that they were able to kill the goblins. At the same time, goblin ears could also be sold as materials. Although their prices were cheap, since there were a lot of them, if an Awakened Professional hunted enough of them, they would surely be able to live comfortably as well.
It was just a pity that this kind of system did not exist back then; otherwise, Desther would have amassed some wealth with what he was doing before.
After a few moments, he saw that they were finally done checking their Profile Status.
To be honest, he could truly not blame them for taking that long. When he first unlocked his Profile Status, it also took him a long time to digest the information written on it.
"Damn it! Why do I only have 5 INT and 4 WIS? Am I actually this dumb? My Agility is also at 5? I’m not that slow, am I?" Noah grumbled as he inspected his attribute panel a few times.
"Isn’t that normal for our age?" Elena asked in confusion.
Aside from her WIS attribute that was increased by 1 due to her talent, her other attributes were more or less the same number as Noah.
With a high WIS attribute, this also meant that she should focus her future development and class choice around this attribute for better effect.
Lexie did not mention any information regarding her attributes. They did not ask her as well. Just like talent details, attributes were also considered private information by many.
"Alright. Enough talk. Let us reevaluate the battle earlier and what we are lacking. We should supplement it as early as possible and prevent any mistakes in the future," Lexie stated while looking at Noah and Elena.
Hearing her words, Noah and Elena were visibly ashamed.
Noah, in particular, could only let out a wry smile as he recalled his performance earlier.
Inwardly, he vowed that he would do better on their next target.
The four of them reassessed their plan and strategy and also talked about what they will do next.
The main goal was still the same, which was to let all of them kill a monster each and unlock their Profile Status.
"Right now, only Desther is the only one who did not get a kill, so the next time we meet a goblin, it will be his kill. Any objection?" Lexie asked with a bit of an authoritative tone.
With what she showed earlier, her status as their leader became even more solidified.
Noah and Elena still felt guilty about what had happened, so they did not say anything at all.
Although Desther already unlocked his Profile Status long ago, it does not mean he would openly announce it either.
With their next plan being decided, the group decided to move forward once more.
This time, with Lexie and the others being able to sense the Exit Portal, they decided to shift their destination toward it directly.
Any monster they encountered along the way would be dealt with accordingly.
After a few minutes, the group stopped in their tracks once more.
"Goblin droppings," Lexie stated upon spotting the obvious signs of goblins.
"There should just be two of them this time around. You guys get ready, I will follow the tracks and lure them here."
Before she could make a few steps, Lexie suddenly turned around and stated, "Noah, give the gun to Desther. Focus on defending with your shield. Since you mentioned your talent increases your VIT and STR, I think you should focus on becoming a tanky warrior instead."
"And besides, you absolutely suck at using the gun!"
She coldly added before dashing away.
