Chapter 176: You’re too good to me.

Like that, the both of them continued their gait until they arrived at Su Pings inn.

" If I ever start to act like that again. Would you please be a dare and tell me before hand." Su Ping said just as Vivian was about to take her leave.

" Of course Master." Vivian nodded with a smile before scurrying off. Su Pings lips curled upwards a little as he watched her leave. He shook his head lightly before entering the inn and heading upstairs.

Of course he couldn’t avoid Annabel’s greetings midway.

" Good day mister Su."

" Good day Annabel." This time, Su Ping was in a good mood, so he returned the greeting with needed enthusiasm. But when his feet touched the step, he paused a little.

" Is something wrong Mister Su?" Annabel’s brows furrowed a little.

" It’s nothing." Su Ping made a waving gesture, his voice calm this time as he headed upstairs.

" Welcome back mas–i mean big brother." Su Ping spotted Emilia in the corridor the instant he stepped in.

Su Ping nodded, yet he wondered whether she came out to greet him when she heard his footsteps downstairs. Nevertheless, he didn’t spend much time outside but headed inside.

" Welcome back darling." Su Ping received a kiss from Melinda who fell into his embrace when he entered the room. He wanted to ask why her voice was barely above a whisper when he spotted his two little angels lying asleep on the bed, carefully tucked in with the bedsheets.

’ I didn’t know it had gotten so late.’ Su Ping stared out the window at the receding sunset that was slowly giving way to the darkness of night.

" Well Darling, how’d it go. Did you find it." Melinda asked with eager eyes yet her soft voice kept sending tingles through his body.

Su Ping smiled before recounting his journey today to her, from how they kept on looking for the perfect home till they finally found one, and the last being how Lilia would be staying with them.

" B-But if you’re not ok with it, I could find another place for us to stay." Su Ping said when he noticed that she’d been silent for awhile now.

" I never said I disliked your arrangements." Melinda gently pressed her finger against his lip’s. " Having a local with us is more helpful than you think. Besides, I think it’ll do Emilia some good to interact with more people."

" Oh..." Su Ping mouthed unconsciously before smiling, hugging her tightly.

" Darling?"

" Your always too good to me." Su Ping nozzled his head atop her’s, enjoying her warmth.

" D-Darling" a blush creeped up Melinda’s cheeks when she felt his body heating up quickly all of a sudden but, when she sensed no movement from him, She secretly felt relived.

The children were asleep and she’d hate to wake them up, just thinking about what would happen if they accidentally woke up and saw the both of them in the act was something she never wanted to happen, especially when she recalled how she ended up, last time.

Su Ping remained silent, content with just her warmth. Right now there was nothing else he wanted than for this moment to last forever, with the 4 of them at peace, enjoying a simple yet priceless moment.

" Darling, after you left, some of the shop owners came looking for you." Melinda said out of the blue, peaking his interest.

" Oh? I was wondering when they’d give in." He smiled, he listened as she briefly described the ones who had come looking for him. " It’s too late now so I’ll visit them tomorrow, for now I want nothing more than to spend some time with my wife."

Afterwards, Su Ping accompanied Melinda to sleep with the kids, the family of 4 signing off for the night.

Meanwhile, somewhere else. Trouble was busy brewing.

Outside Rose City, within the thick forest several hundreds of meters away.

The forest was cloaked in the dark of night, thanks to the spooky atmosphere of the forest at night, the air felt significantly more chilling. Although the damp scent of moss and faint dew on the leaves, played a part in the desolate scenery.

The only light in the forest was coming from the pale glow of the crescent moon, filtering through the canopy. A monstrous boar-like beast, three meters tall with red fur that shimmered like blood in the moonlight, snorted loudly, its four curved tusks gleaming like spears as it trudged up the earth, preparing for a merciless charge towards it’s attacker’s.

It’s aggressors, who were actually four adventurers out hunting in the night, weren’t deterred by the beasts obvious warnings.

They acted like a team, with movements that were both sharp and coordinated, their eyes glinting with focus even when faced with the creatures Lvl 2 rare tier aura.

The warrior and party leader was also a Lvl 2 rare tier but, like most knew, most beasts were far more powerful than average humans at the same level.

The warrior was lean and looked to be in his 30s, with a scarred frame hidden beneath his leather armor, his dark hair tied back into a ponytail, his longsword glinting in the moonlight as he gripped it tightly.

The archer, a young woman with her pigtails swaying slightly in the cool night air, nocked an arrow on her bow, her eyes squinting sharply in the dim light.

The mage of the group, a young man with black messy hair and a pale face was the only one within the group that looked nervous during the battle.

" I don’t see why you’re laughing! Why are even happy right now, can’t you see that it’s about to charge!" The mages voice was filled with frustration as he chided the tank.

He clutched his staff as it glowed faintly with magical power as he prepared to fire another offensive spell. His Lvl 2 elite magical power emanating outwards.

" Hahahaha! What’s there not to like, I’d like to see this darned animal get past me!" The tank, a hulking figure with a shaved head, laughed gave a hearty laugh while grinning fearlessly at the huge beast.

He held a massive shield and hammer in each arm, his muscular build radiating Level 2 elite strength as he stood ready, his boots sinking into the soft earth.

After letting out a frightening cry, The beast charged towards them, its hooves thundering against the ground, sending dirt flying as it roared, its hot breath emerged as hot puffs of steam in the cold night air.

"The both of you get back! Be sure to support from a distance!" Their party leader shouted in a timely manner while waiting for the beast to come close along with the tank of their party.

" Let’s do it!" The archer placed an arrow on her bow while gesturing towards the mage with her gaze.

The archers arrow sliced through the air the instant she let go of her string. it whistled sharply as flew like the wind before striking the beast’s flank.

The mage didn’t slack off either, his staff flared up and a bolt of blue energy began crackling along it’s tip, pushing back the darkness around him.

" Lightning bolt!"

A bolt of electricity then flew outwards, scorching the creature’s hide and filling the air with the sharp smell of burnt fur.

ARRRGHHH!!!

The beast snarled angrily from the attack, it’s bloodshot eyes shifting towards the mage.

"Block it! Don’t let it get close!" Their party leader instructed the tank, while darting behind the beast.

" Don’t just ignore me! Get back here!" He taunted, his sword flashing as he struck its weak points with several deadly cuts, each blow drawing a bellow that echoed through the trees.

" I’m in position!"

" What are the both of you waiting for? Scared stiff?" The tank chuckled.

" As if! Who said I needed your help." The mage rolled his eyes at the tank before charging another offensive spell and firing it at the beast.

" Ha! You call that an attack, let me show you how to hurt a beast!" The tanks pearly whites gleamed in the moonlight as he charged at the beast who was trying to deal with their party leader.

Thanks to their leaders effort, the tank was able to block the beasts path, blocking off the mage and archer from its sites.

He lunged at it like a speeding truck, his shield gleaming under the moon while his hammer came crashing down against the beast’s face, the clash of metal and tusk ringing out like a the forest area.

The beast snarled in rage but couldn’t attack the tank head on because the party leader continued to assualt it from behind. Moreover, the constant attacks from the mage and archer forced it into disarray.

The party’s teamwork was seamless, and that was to be expected because they had already honed it through countless battles, tonight was just one amongst sever

al.

With each blow struck, the beasts HP would drop and drop and soon the beast began to stagger, its red fur slick with blood.
