" Thank you for your cooperation." The female knight smiled at him. Su Ping couldn’t help but think that she was more proper than most women he had encountered. He stole a brief glance at the Wolf King who was covered in a cloak Su Ping had brought prior, to cover up her body.

’ Just what is this woman doing?’ Su Ping was confused but his pupils suddenly dilated when a thought came to mind.

" You’re courteous and beautiful as well. My, how wonderful you are." Before Su Ping knew it, she had already began conversing with the officer. His eyes began to twitch as he glanced around only to be annoyed when he noticed there weren’t any other people Entering the city. It seemed like the troublesome incidents were finally starting to affect the public and yet he was annoyed because no one came up to interrupt the both of them.

" That’s wonderful, your home isn’t that far from ours? Is it ok with you if we came over some time?"

" Of course, feel free. It’s been awhile since I had company." The female knight said in a joking manner.

" Honey, don’t you think it’s about time we headed home?" Su Ping didn’t dare to let them chat any longer. In just a short amount of time, the both of them suddenly looked like good friends, who knew what would happen if he left them be for another second.

" Oh my, look at the time, you’re right darling, I completely forgot." Melinda finally stopped talking, much to Su Pings relief.

" Don’t forget, you promised me a visit."

" Sure thing, I’ll be sure to prepare a nice meal just for the occasion." The female knight smiled back at Melinda, her blue eyes and stray strands of blonde hair that piqued out from her helm, made her look even more radiant, like a stunning sunflower.

The group of 4 returned to their cart and headed on their way, soon moving through the streets of the city.

" What were you trying to do..." Su Ping shot his wife a side glance.

" What are you talking about?" Melinda stiffened, her eyes glancing at the side yet that was what irked Su Ping even more.

" You know what I mean." Su Ping spoke in a hushed tone through gritted teeth. " I thought you said 3 was the limit."

" Y-Yes but... I thought you wanted more..." Melinda smiled nervously, her voice trailing off.

" When did I ever say I wanted more?" Su Ping shot her a look of disbelief.

" Then why were you so fixated on the enforcer knight?"

’ Fixated? Me? When?’ Su Ping was stunned, what did she mean by fixated.

" You kept looking at her so much that i thought you changed your mind." Melinda spoke up, dispelling his confusion.

’ But I was only trying to distract her so she wouldn’t notice me using my skill....’ Su Ping didn’t know what to say, judging from what she said, it seemed he must’ve been staring for longer than he thought or could it be that she was just exaggerating so she could use this as an excuse?

Su Ping didn’t know which to believe, in the end, he simply sighed and decided to put the matter to rest.

They soon got home and headed inside. Su Ping noticed that their landlady hadn’t returned yet which wasn’t exactly with what he wished since he wanted to explain to her that the Wolf King would be staying with them from now on.

Mel and Sal had already been tucked in for their afternoon nap by the death Knights, which was a bit peculiar. Even Su Ping didn’t expect those emissaries of death to do such a thing.

Thinking back to how he was going to explain to the landlady, Su Ping sighed since he wasn’t sure money would work and since he’d gotten this house without illusions, he really didn’t want to use one on her, that and the fact that he felt a sense of similarity between him and the woman who was working so hard just to be filial.

’ Come to think of f it, that’s basically the safest choice...’ Su Ping contemplated to himself, his eyes secretly glancing at the Wolf King who had put on proper women clothes.

The latter noticed his gave and a light smile appeared on her face, her cheeks turning a bit rosy as she though to herself that her mate was finally showing some interest in her.

" You’re leaving again?" Melinda’s voice came from upstairs, she had been in her children’s room earlier, watching over them.

she soon came down, her face was a bit confused since she didn’t know why her husband wanted to leave again when they just returned.

" You’re heading back out of the city? Why?"

" You seemed worried about those missing people, so I might as well find out what happened to them." Su Ping wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.

" You’re carrying our child remember, I can’t have you feeling stressed." He kissed her forehead, his eyes filled with affection. " Who knows what that might do to the baby, or you."

Melinda blushed yet this time she didn’t avoid his gaze. behind her, Emilia stood silently while the Wolf King had a gloomy expression as she looked at the two of them.

Su Ping pulled his wife into a deep hug, then flashed the two at the back, a frosty glare." The both of you are also coming along–"

His voice faltered when Melinda escaped from his embrace, now staring at him worriedly.

" What do you plan on doing with the both of them."

She knew how cold her husband could be if he wished, so him suddenly deciding to spend some time with the vampire and wolf definitely made her feel worried.

" I have no intention of hurting anyone of them so long as they don’t give me a reason to." Su Ping said yet his eyes lingered on the Wolf King for awhile before shifting back to Melinda.

To his surprise, she shook her head, her face was still filled woth skepticism.

" Promise me you won’t hurt them..."

" Promise me. I want to hear you say it." She pursed her lips, standing firm on her decision.

’ So long as they don’t give me a reason to.’ Su Ping said the latter part of his sentence in his mind. It was best she didn’t hear it, otherwise, he have a tough time convincing her to pet him take them.

Fortunately, it worked. Her expression eased a lot after hearing him promise her. Melinda had a lot of trust in her husband even though she might be skeptical at times. When it came down with it, she was willing to side with him to the very end, no matter what sort of plan he had in mind, so long as he knew her thoughts on whatever he was doing, she was satisfied.

" But... Is there a reason why you want the both of us specifically?" Emilia said, she wasn’t nervous, just curious.

She understood that her new master wasn’t the type to act without reason, even though he seemed unhappy with the new, so called engagement, she understood that he wouldn’t harm her in any way so long as she didn’t step out of line.
