Lily didn’t listen even when she heard Aren yelling, she stretched her hands.

"This is the moment I take my position as the strongest awakened, what Ragna would have wanted." She said that line and then grabbed the hair of the Angel, and in that instant, everywhere began to tremble.

"Oh shit," Aren muttered.

Something was coming down from below, and he knew that it was the Guardian snake.

"Shit, look what you have done? You’ve doomed everyone on this entire mountain." He said to Lily. She could also feel that something was coming, but she refused to acknowledge this, her eagerness for power overtook her, and she tried to yank the angel forward.

The head of the angel raised, and instantly Lily looked into her eyes, eyes darker than the night itself, it was like staring into the abyss, what followed was a terrifying scene as Lily erupted in black flames.

"Arrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhh!" She screamed from the bottom of her lungs as the pain filled her entire body. She tossed around until she fell off the side of the bridge, and the Guardian snake, who was rising from the depths below, snatched her mid air in a massive powerful bite.

The teeth snapped close and she was gone, the snake continued upwards.

"This, this isn’t good." Aren said, he stepped back and then turned around, running out of there.

He had faced a huge amount of enemies at this point, and the greatest being the patriarch and Geisha, but never had he faced something that looked like there was no way to win at all.

The feeling he got alone from staring at the creature managed to send heavy shivers down his spine.

"Have to move faster," he muttered under his breath as he very quickly descended the stairs, his feet barely touching one before he was already down to the next one.

He made it out of the statue at the right time, as right behind him, the entire statue was shattered, and the massive guardian snake burst out.

Massive rocks flew through the air, coming down like meteors about to land on people.

Everyone looked up and saw the snake, instantly, fear overtook them, they all started running, while dodging falling rocks at the same time.

Aren caught up to the group, they looked at him confused.

"What’s happening, Aren?" Elena asked.

"Uhm, I’ll explain later, but that snake wants every one of us dead, so run." After saying that, he unsummoned every single shadow and bolted down the mountain, the group followed, running as fast as they could.

The snake lunged forward, its massive body caused it to cross the distance very fast, it crushed people under its massive body, leaving them as paste on the ground.

Its tail whipped through the air, slamming into awakened and turning them into flying bags of meat. It was an instantly horrific scene.

"We aren’t going to make it out at this pace," Elena said.

"Can your gravity help?" Aren asked.

"I can make all of us lighter, it should help," Elena said.

"I’ll reduce the space ahead as well," Zero said.

"Alright, Kira, stay in front and create an ice slope for us down, while you two boost everyone," Aren said.

Kira nodded and rushed to the front, she stretched out her hands and unleashed the ice immediately, while Zero and Elena immediately did their thing, the ice went thin and their speed vastly increased.

They shot down the mountain at a crazy pace. Even then, Aren could not help but turn and look back, seeing the snake coming off the side of the mountain, its scaly body covered in patches of human blood. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

He gritted his teeth, this was no longer a trial, it was a game and the gods and angels were just enjoying the show, watching them suffer as they struggled to survive.

He faced forward again, there was really nothing that he could do about it.

They made it down the mountain, each of them turned around to look at the snake hanging off the side of the mountain, attacking more awakened that were slow and killing them.

A few had made it down and even more were coming down.

This was the third trial, and the losses they were facing were very quickly piling up.

"What do we do now? Run? Face it?" Aiden asked.

"We’ll die if we face that monster," Aren stated.

"So what do we do?" Kira asked.

"I can assume that the only way to stop this would still be to kill the angel," Elena said.

"That makes sense, wild as it sounds," Aren replied, he looked at the mountain and the snake, "that angel inside killed Lily with a look alone, it’s definitely not a simple being even if chained."

"So what do we do? Run or wait for our deaths like everyone?" Aiden asked.

"No, you go for the angel, Flo will work with you to ensure that all of you make it to the angel safely," Aren said, summoning Flo, she appeared and flew around his head once, she already knew what she had to do.

"Then what about you?" Kira stepped up and asked. Aren smiled, "I’ll distract that big snake over there."

"You just said we can’t kill it," Aiden immediately said.

"I’m with Aiden, don’t start going to attack that on your own," Kira spoke, eyes heavy with concern, even if they weren’t dating, she still cared for him.

"Your group is right, you alone against that monstrosity," Elena said.

BOOM!

Suddenly a massive explosion ripped through the air, they all looked and saw a cloud of smoke forming on the snake, it was knocked back by a powerful attack.

They searched for who attacked it and there they saw a lady with a massive gun-like magical weapon. She was dressed lightly, with what looked like a leather bra covering her chest and some purple shorts, her purple hair was made into a single long ponytail that swayed as her body moved back from the recoil.

Beside her, a figure stepped up, a young man shirtless, completely ripped and with flowing black hair, his entire arms were black as metal. He launched into the air and delivered a clean punch to the head of the snake.

BOOM!

Throwing the head of the snake back, he pushed off and landed beside the girl again, looking entirely confident.

"Seems I’ll not be alone," Aren said, he turned and looked at the group, "you have to go, take care of the angel, do whatever it takes, I’ll hold that thing off along with those cool looking dudes standing there."

Kira looked reluctant, but she finally let up, "fine, we’ll go." She said, and then turned to leave, Aiden gave Aren a nod and followed, the others followed as well, even if they didn’t want to leave, they understood the importance.

"Don’t die on me," Zero said before throwing her hands behind her back and walking away.

"Be safe," Athena said in a calm tone.

"I will be," Aren replied, and then handed Flo to her. "Take care of Flo," he said.

Athena took Flo, nodded and walked off.

"Alright then, fight hard and well, and make sure you don’t die, need you alive," Elena said as she walked past.

"Yeah, you too, make sure you come back."

"Ohhhh? Are you worried about me?" Elena stopped and said, turning to look at him with a sly smile.

"Of course I am," Aren replied.

She didn’t expect him to say it that bluntly, she looked away immediately. "Well don’t be, I’m pretty strong," she said and walked off, her face flushed red, but he couldn’t see it.

"Hmmm, what’s wrong with her?" Aren muttered, he shrugged it off and then turned to look at the snake.

"Let’s get this party started." He charged ahead with a smile on his face, then leaped into the air before summoning the wyvern shadow.

He landed on the back, and it flew toward the snake which was now attacking even more awakened.

"Let’s greet this giant reptile with a bang, shall we?"

The wyvern immediately unleashed a massive blast, it slammed right into the head of the snake, knocking it back. It didn’t do any real damage, but at least managed to push it back.

The snake recovered and turned its head to look at Aren, and then attacked with a huge lunge, Aren flew upward, but the snake was still catching up and about to consume him and the wyvern, but then the girl with the gun fired a shot, it landed right on the head of the snake.

BOOM!

Its head was knocked back again, allowing Aren to get away, he made a loop mid air and began flying downward, then he pulled out his dagger, gripping it in reverse.

"Let’s see what this does, get ready to taste ruptured space."

He slashed, unleashing a cut that slashed through even space, slamming into the mouth of the snake, detonating, but even then, no wound was formed.
