Standing Next To You-Chapter 241: Lin Sunji’s ending II
Chapter 241: Lin Sunji’s ending II
Bei Sangyun glanced disappointingly at the newly painted chair she had worked hard to paint. It was now placed at the back of the room,
Fei Chuan took another empty seat and replaced his own. As he sat down, he glanced at her and sighed.
Bei Sangyun: "...."
What was the sigh for?
Did he not like the paint? Was it because of the color?
Bei Sangyun did not think too much about it. Right now, seeing him again made all the feelings she had yesterday night resurfaced.
She wanted to tease him and express how much she had missed him, but then she remembered that she should not force her feelings on him. She stopped, simply greeting him with a good morning and remaining silent.
The morning passed peacefully for Class 3-1A. Fei Chuan’s morning was strangely peaceful too; his seatmate didn’t bother him at all.
He wasn’t used to her silence and began to wonder if he had hurt her feelings when he moved the chair she had painted to the back of the room.
But what else could he have done? Should he have sat on the chair and gotten white paint all over his pants?
Fei Chuan harrumphed inwardly. Well, he was sure she still had a lot up her sleeve. She wouldn’t be this silent for long.
And he was right.
During break, Bei Sangyun brought him his favorite drink at his desk. Fei Chuan silently accepted it and put the straw in the juice. Although he remained calm outwardly, he was smirking inside.
Bei Sangyun was not the type to get hurt over a single chair. She must have just been quiet earlier because she was contemplating what kind of trick to play on him.
However, her next words caused Fei Chuan to pause.
"I won’t be accompanying you for lunch. So don’t wait for me; just eat well."
Fei Chuan looked up at her, stunned.
Bei Sangyun saw his adorable reaction, and her fingers twitched. Without those long bangs of his covering his beautiful eyes and handsome face, his adorable expressions became more evident.
He had become a lot cuter. Her desire to touch those long lashes and poke his nose strongly arose.
But she stopped herself from touching him.
She needed to be gentle, soft, not forceful in pursuing him.
Forcing herself to look away, she left.
In the last row, Fei Chuan stared in the direction she had left, still stunned.
What’s going on with her? Wasn’t she constantly pestering him? What happened today?
Fei Chuan was left wondering when several girls suddenly surrounded his chair.
The girls had been waiting to approach Fei Chuan, but because the tyrant was still there, they couldn’t gather the courage to go closer.
But now that the tyrant had left the room, it was their chance to get to know this handsome and noble young master better!
"Classmate Fei Chuan, can we have lunch together?"
"Fei Chuan, it’s my birthday this week. I am inviting everyone. I hope to see you that day--"
"Classmate Fei Chuan, are you and the tyrant going out? If not, do you have a girlfriend?"
"Classmate Fei Chuan, why did you previously grow your hair long? We only now realize that you are so handsome. You are even better than the school grass* Jang Shin!"
"Classmate Fei Chuan...."
Fei Chuan frowned at the crowd gathering before him. These people never once called him by his name before, only referring to him as the ’target,’ the coward, or the loser. Their sudden change of attitude made him dislike them even more.
Fei Chuan stood up and barged his way out of the crowd. He never answered anyone and rudely left like that.
The girls looked at his departing back and were not even offended by his attitude. Their eyes sparkled even more, and they gazed dreamily, "He is cold but so handsome...."
"Handsome men like him deserve to be cold."
"Ah, how can he be so handsome? If I had known he is such an outstanding person, I should have befriended him earlier."
"Right, then we would have become much closer to him. Look at the tyrant. She knew beforehand that Fei Chuan is so outstanding and secured him early."
"Now, she has all his loyalty and devotion."
The girls came up with scenarios in their heads about the two, and their desire to get close to Fei Chuan only grew stronger.
He was a bit rude, cold, but handsome. Once you gained his trust, he was also devoted and loyal. All of them harbored this idea in their hearts. They wanted to become the second Bei Sangyun in his heart!

Wang Jia had been in a pickle lately. Because she didn’t want to use her own money for that insane bet, she went to her father and lied, claiming she needed money to ’donate’ for school activities.
It was the crucial time of her social debut, so her father believed her immediately. He gave her a substantial amount, including the fees for school and her allowance.
Wang Jia looked at the significant sum, this money should have been hers and would have been spent on buying luxurious clothes and sets of jewelry, but she had to let it go to someone.
Giving this freely to someone she loathed was truly terrible. It was killing her inside.
But she had no choice and deposited the entire amount into the account that Zhong Cheng had given her. If she delayed for a day, the interest would add up, and she would have to pay more.
She refused to give more money to that bastard.
However, she did not know how it happened. During the week when she was busy attending tea parties, her mother figured out that there was no such thing as paying for school. Unlike her dad, she couldn’t fool her mother easily.
They had already paid the tuition at enrollment, and her mother was monitoring every activity at school. Besides, her mother was updated with the news since she was busy with the other Madames.
At one party, her mother bragged about ’donating’ a huge amount to the school and asked the other Madames if they ’donated’ too and how much. The other Madames were clueless about what she was talking about and soon found out that there was no such thing.
Only then did they realize that it was her daughter who was lying. They began ridiculing Wang Jia’s mother for being played by her own daughter. That night, Wang Jia got an earful, and her account was frozen.
Her parents asked her where she put the money, but Wang Jia couldn’t answer. It would be all over if she said she spent the money to pay a bet. Not only would they punish her more severely, but they would also surely cause a scene at school. That would be embarrassing.
Thus, Wang Jia accepted her fate of having her account frozen. She had no money to spend on lunch outside and had to eat cafeteria food like the other ’commoners.’ But Wang Jia did not want to eat at the cafeteria, so she turned to her ’best friend.’
"Sunji, my parents are hard on me today and they froze my account. I don’t have any money." Usually, Lin Sunji would take her hint and reply kindly, assuring her not to worry and that she would take her to eat lunch outside.
But today, Lin Sunji was not herself. She replied absentmindedly as they walked, "Oh. That’s too bad then."
Wang Jia hugged her arm, "Yeah. How can they do this to me? I am in the most important period of my life. How can they just cut off my allowance? What should I do now?"
Lin Sunji replied dryly, "Yeah. So sad."
Wang Jia: "...."
The words she wanted to hear were not said. Does she need to ask her straightforwardly? But that would be embarrassing!
Wang Jia pouted and threw more hints, but Lin Sunji remained clueless. Wang Jia couldn’t help it anymore and gazed at her friend, aggrieved.
Perhaps she stared at Lin Sunji too much and noticed that Lin Sunji looked a lot paler, and the makeup on her face was much thicker.
"Hey, Lin Sunji, are you okay?--"
"Lin Sunji." A voice suddenly interrupted her, calling Lin Sunji from behind.
The lifeless Lin Sunji suddenly jolted awake. She looked back with wide eyes, her expression clearly guarded and anxious.
Bei Sangyun approached them with a smile that did not reach her eyes. "I am looking for you. I couldn’t find you in your seat. Are you trying to go somewhere?" Her eyes then narrowed dangerously, "Running away, perhaps?"
Lin Sunji bit her lips and glared at her, "Why? Are you trying to do something to me? I am not afraid of you."
Bei Sangyun tilted her head. She was smiling, but the coldness in her eyes was magnified. "Have you forgotten what your parents promised me? If you don’t want ’that’ thing to happen, you better follow me."
Lin Sunji’s eyes turned red. Bei Sangyun was clearly threatening her. She did not want to follow her nor be helpless in front of Bei Sangyun.
But what to do?
Bei Sangyun held the key that would make her family traverse the path of destruction. If her family were ruined, then what about her future? She couldn’t marry a bald widowed old man.
She replied unwillingly, "Fine. But don’t think this is over. I am only doing this because you forced me."
Lin Sunji took Wang Jia’s arms off hers and followed Bei Sangyun.
"W-wait. Lin Sunji! What about me? Are you leaving me?"
Lin Sunji glanced at her. There was no affection for a friend in her eyes. Her reply was cold, "Just eat in the cafeteria."
