Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 13: Requirement
[Third Person POV:]
"Are you still trying to contact him?" a voice came from the left, but Amanda didn’t bother turning as she continued dialing the same number. Even after trying from a different phone, the result was the same.
No answer.
"You’re being unreasonable now, Amanda," another member of the group spoke up.
Amanda frowned and turned toward the pink-haired girl. "Would you mind shutting your mouth for a second? Keep your thoughts to yourself if you can’t say anything good, Clara."
Clara rolled her eyes. "You’re risking letting him find out our work. I have every right to stop you."
The other girl, the one with short blue hair, added, "She’s right, Amanda. Sir Blake being injured hasn’t appeared on any news channel. How are you planning to explain how you know that?"
Amanda bit her lower lip.
Right. How did she know that Kyle’s older brother was possibly fighting for his life?
Kyle wasn’t part of this side of reality. He was a normal person, and Amanda was grateful for that. She didn’t want him risking his life every day just to protect others.
But for that very reason, she had broken up with him.
She couldn’t tell him anything about her work as a Nightwalker, and that silence had been misunderstood.
Six months ago, everything had changed.
A sudden surge of Ghouls and Nightmares had left her with no choice but to spend most of her time after university fighting and rescuing.
Yet she couldn’t explain any of that to the man she loved.
And she didn’t blame him for misunderstanding her.
She couldn’t tell him the truth, and he wasn’t obligated to wait for her forever.
"Amanda," Ethan said as he entered the room, his voice gentle, "you can’t keep someone tied to your life forever. Kyle decided to move on, so you should too."
Amanda clenched the phone in her hand and didn’t look up.
Move on. Could she really do that? Perhaps she already knew the answer.
Ethan didn’t press the matter and instead added, "We have a meeting with the Chief tomorrow morning. Don’t be late. It looks like she’s about to assign us a mission."
The short-haired girl asked, "A mission? Do you know anything about it?"
Ethan’s golden brows drew together slightly before he replied, "I believe it’s related to the research trip we’re being sent on this weekend."

"Where are you going?" Kyle’s father asked when he noticed Kyle stepping out of the ward.
Kyle took a deep breath and paused for a moment before replying, "I’m going to get something for Mom to drink."
The man sighed. "How is she? She’s fainted twice already."
Kyle’s shoulders sagged. He couldn’t imagine the pain she was going through right now. The same was true for his father, who knew Blake’s condition better than anyone, yet as the man of the house, he had to maintain a calm front so others could rely on him.
Kyle stepped closer and spoke softly, "He’ll get better, Dad. I promise." What supported that belief? His friends on the live stream, or simply hope? Maybe both.
Mathew looked at his son for a few seconds before resting a hand on his shoulder. "There’s no need for you to stay here tonight. Go back home. I’ll inform you about his condition."
Kyle blinked in surprise. "But, Father... Mom..."
"Don’t worry about her. I’ll send her back home as well. It would be better if I stayed here alone." He gave Kyle’s shoulder one last pat. "Take care on your way back."
Kyle watched his father walk toward the ward and peer into the room through the window.
The same patriarch who handled international guests with effortless calm now looked so vulnerable that Kyle felt his heart shatter.
He clenched his fist and turned toward the elevator.
.....
Taking the train, he was back home by midnight.
While he was traveling, he took his time and calmed himself down a little.
He needed to think. He had a way to heal his brother. And for that, he has to work without panicking.
The first step, ask for help.
He wore his face mask and went online once again, the second time this night.
He has a little hope to see all of them again online when he was streaming so untimely. And just as he thought,
0 watching.
He clicked his tongue and leaned back in his seat.
’Can you try contacting them or something, system?’
[No, host. The system doesn’t have the authority.]
Kyle sighed and decided to get up and get something to drink. He probably would wait for a couple of hours—or no.
1 viewer.
One-Eyed: [I was expecting you would return.]
Kyle instantly said, "Hey...umm...first of all, thanks...for the gift?" He sounded uncertain, "You really did change my view of the world."
One-eyed: [Hmm, it appears you have met with something heartbreaking. Your family member is wounded.]
He got to the point which was relieving and terrifying at the same time.
"Yes, you are right...so, I was thinking if you have a way to help me. Maybe you can tell me where I can find a healer or help me level up this God’s eye?"
The God’s eyes has a certain range of detection that’s why, it was impossible to find a healer around him
And the system even informed that healers are one of the rarest stream of magic a person awakens.
One-eyed: [I have a better option for you. How about you earn what you want?]
Kyle blinked in surprise. Just then,
[Ding! Quest added!]
[Quest: Earn 200SP]
[Time limit: 6 hours]
[Reward: Red elixir.]
[Host, the elixir would be enough to restore your brother’s circuits back to full health.]
Kyle beamed at those words. There was finally a definite way of saving him.
But...’200 Soul points...which means...’
[Yes, host. It’s time to hunt.]
