Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 89: I Will End You Today
"Rosy?" Leonora repeated, scratching her head in thought. Her eyes widened in realization as a memory clicked into place. She turned toward Rivana, who was already looking at Callum. The two shared a moment of silent communication, their eyes speaking a language only they understood. There was no need for words but they seemed to be already piecing the puzzle together.
Across the room, Butler Chase was frozen in horror. The revelation of that name had struck him harder than anyone else. He thought no one in the house, aside from himself, had any clue about that woman’s existence. Yet it seemed she had left a lasting impression in Gianna’s mind after all.
’Why did you do that, Master?’ he thought bitterly, his eyes drifting toward Emmerich’s photograph hanging on the wall. But Butler Chase knew deep down that even if Gianna hadn’t mentioned the name, Rivana would have gone searching for that woman. That cursed photograph had set everything into motion, and no one would stop her chase.
Rafaelo, meanwhile, was struggling to process what had just been revealed. His own mother had kept it from him too. Barely able to mask his shock, he glanced at Rivana, then at Rubina, still held by Callum.
"So, I took care of a wedlock all these years?" Rafaelo’s voice broke the heavy silence, his frustration spilling over. He stared at Rubina, his usual softness and love for her replaced by an expression of disgust and contempt. The betrayal in his tone was palpable.
Tears began to spill from Rubina’s eyes. For a fleeting moment, her carefully crafted facade shattered. The look on Rafaelo’s face devastated her, cutting deeper than anything else. This was exactly what she had feared all these years. She had learned the truth long ago but chose to pretend she didn’t know. She knew this would be the reaction if it ever came to light. The world would see her differently, snickering behind her back and dragging her down—just as they had done to Rivana all these years, simply because she was born to a mistress.
"Leave her!" Amerie’s voice rang out, desperate and pleading. "I told you everything I know!" she begged. "Don’t hurt her! Please!"
Callum’s grip on Rubina loosened, and he released her. She stumbled forward, nearly hitting the floor, but her helper caught her just in time. Supporting her gently, the helper guided Rubina to a quiet corner, where she stood trembling as everyone else tried to process the events.
Callum’s men escorted the doctor out of the mansion, ensuring her safe departure after her work was successfully completed. Callum passed the gun back to Dante and gave the order for the team to disperse. Their mission was complete, they needed to rest and prepare for their next tasks.
"Are you okay?" Leonora asked softly, wrapping an arm around Rivana’s shoulders. Rivana let out a tired sigh, nodding faintly as she leaned on Leonora for support. Her mind buzzed with theories and unanswered questions, the weight of it all almost making her dizzy.
"You are still technically not a part of this family. Don’t you think you need to give up everything?" Gianna’s cold voice broke through, her tone sharp and laced with malice. She was relentless in her attempt to gaslight Rivana and reclaim what she believed had never truly belonged to her.
Leonora gritted her teeth, anger simmering just beneath the surface. These people had tortured Rivana for years, blaming her for every mishap when she wasn’t even responsible. Was it Rivana’s fault that Margaret had decided to bring her into the family? Was it her fault that Emmerich had chosen her as his successor? They should count themselves lucky that someone as capable as Rivana had taken the reins, instead of someone less deserving.
"Let’s ask your son about it, Ms. Faye," Callum interjected, his tone calm but cutting. He slipped his hands into his pockets and turned to Rafaelo. "Should Rivana give up everything to you, Buffalo?"
"How dare you?!" Gianna snapped, her voice rising in indignation. But to her shock, Rafaelo raised a hand, stopping her mid-rant.
"No," Rafaelo said quietly, his voice barely audible but firm. "She is the right person to take care of it."
The room fell silent once more, stunned by his words. Not just Gianna, but even Amerie was taken aback. What had gotten into him? They wondered. At that moment, they realized they had lost—completely and utterly. Rafaelo, their strongest asset, had seemingly given up.
"Heard him?" Callum asked, his gaze fixed on Gianna. As she stood there, speechless and fuming, he continued, "Don’t try anything stupid. And don’t even think about touching Rivana, Ms. Faye." His eyes shifted to Rafaelo, and his tone turned sharp. "Your son will face the consequences, and trust me, they will be far worse than you could ever imagine."
Gianna looked at Rafaelo behind her, who lowered his eyes in shame. She had tried talking, but he had always escaped. Today, no one was going to stop her. She grabbed his arm and dragged him upstairs to their room.
Amerie hesitantly walked toward Rubina. The helper took a step back, leaving room for the two. "Ruby..." her voice trailed off. Rubina didn’t reply. Amerie reached out to hold her, but Rubina shrugged her away.
Her life was doomed completely today. There was no use in acting anymore. Hot tears bubbled in her eyes. Anger flared within her—anger at the humiliation, at her ruined life, and most of all, at Rivana. Only if she had minded her own damn business. Only if she had left the family for good, if she had left Viktor completely, everything would have been hers today and the world have never known this dirty secret!
Rubina’s eyes landed on the knife in the fruit bowl on the coffee table. Since she was completely ruined, it was only fair to ruin Rivana’s life too. Wiping her tears, she moved forward and took the knife.
"Rivana! I will end it for you too today!" Rubina barked, storming in her direction and attacked Rivana.
