Stranger Danger-Chapter 1801: World Ender Jiuying
Before the cold faded, a new mist rose from the surroundings.
The mist was deathly gray in color and spread without a trace. It looked light and gentle, but it really attacked the mind with a deathly aura that threatened to end everything.
Even with the righteous qi and Profound Yellow Mother Qi to protect them, the group still felt a sense of unease and discomfort that came from the depths of their souls. They felt as if invisible eyes were peeking at them and threatening to drag their souls into eternal slumbers.
The deeper they sank into the Blue Hole of Primal Chaos, the worse the environment became.
The breeze had grown into a howling astral wind of deadly poison. Every attack caused the barrier of righteous qi to shake violently.
The drizzle had turned into a corrosive downpour. It created disturbing sizzles when making contact against the light screen and threatened its integrity.
The snow had turned into a vicious snowstorm. Every snowflake felt like a blade coated with the poison of cold, carving up space and freezing all life.
The thin mist had grown into a thick, blinding miasma of death, and the deathly energy it contained was so thick that it was almost tangible. It attacked everyone’s mind again and again.
The howling wind, corrosive rain, freezing snow, and deadly miasma formed a terrible storm of chaos in the middle of the blue hole.
If a warrior below the Sage-stage had fallen into this place, it was unlikely they would be able to survive for even a breath. They would either be eroded by the poison, melted by the rain, frozen by the snow, or mentally killed by the deathly qi.
Even the likes of Ye Qing, the Chief Libationist, the Old Heavenly Master and more felt waves of discomfort and mounting pressure. They had to channel their power to shield themselves from the omnipresent corrosive energies at all times.
This was doubly difficult for Xiahou Zun, Princess Furi, Long-browed Divine Monk and other lower level Sages. They were taking damage from the deadly energies. Their bodies were aching, their true qi was dissipating, and the mind and soul felt cold. They could feel themselves growing weaker and weaker.
Xiahou Zun’s face was white, and his lips were slightly purple. He was forcefully channeling his true qi to defend himself, but felt his vigor churning unnaturally, and his cycles stuttering as if countless tiny ice needles were stuck inside his meridians. At the same time, an invisible poison was slowly seeping into his being.
Princess Furi especially was trembling slightly. Her forehead was covered in cold sweat, and the light in her eyes were dim. It was clear she was already straining to endure.
Long-browed Divine Monk’s chantings had become rapid, and a thin layer of grayish deathly qi was enveloping his brow. Although a golden Buddhist light was resisting the effects valiantly, it was threatening to collapse at any moment.
“Where is the World Ender Jiuying, Joyless? At this rate, I...”
Princess Furi’s voice was tinged with uncontrollable weakness and tremor. Her face was white as a sheet, and her normally bright eyes were covered in a layer of grayish darkness.
She felt that she was going to die before she even met the World Ender Jiuying at this rate.
“I believe...”
Ye Qing swept his gaze across the group and said steadily yet seriously, “We are already in its presence.”
“What?”
His declaration caught everyone off guard. They looked around but could find nothing besides the darkness that seemed capable of consuming everything and the howling storm containing all sorts of destructive power. If what Ye Qing said was true, then where was the World Ender Jiuying?
The group was still confused when Ye Qing’s eyes narrowed, and he looked up at the Earthly Sovereign Bell suspended above his head.
Buzz—!
The old and heavy bell abruptly shuddered violently and unleashed a grander, stronger chime than before. It poured out in every direction like a pouring flood!
The howling astral wind of deadly poison was instantly ripped apart and extinguished like paper!
The downpour of corrosive rain was evaporated by the profound light before it could get close!
The soul-freezing snowstorm was rapidly melted by the profound light and left not a single trace behind!
The deathly miasma was dispelled just as cleanly as the snowstorm!
And finally, the darkness was utterly ripped apart, and light returned to this world!
Like the sun, the profound light illuminated the deepest depths of the Blue Hole of Primal Chaos.
Then, everyone froze and stopped breathing.
They saw a snake so big no word could properly describe its size at the bottom of the blue hole. It looked like a mountain range that stretched without end. Just the parts they could see were enough to occupy all of their vision!
The giant snake was covered in dark, cold scales. Every scale looked like it was forged from refined steel and glowed darkly in the light. It was also covered in age spots and gave off an intimidating aura that seemed to hail from time immemorial.
The most shocking thing about the snake was the fact that it had nine gigantic heads.
The nine heads were as big and tall as mountains. At the top of each head was a draconic horn that glimmered with different lights.
One head was black as ink as if it contained the deepest shadows of the world.
One head was white as snow and gave off a soul-chilling cold.
One head was covered in purple and green patterns as poisonous, demonic light flowed around it.
One head was red as blood and overflowing with violence and bloodthirst.
One head was ghastly green and shrouded in disease and decay...
Nine heads, nine colors, and nine completely different auras of destruction.
Right now, the nine heads’ eyes were tightly shut. They seemed to be slumbering.
Their breathing were long, slow, and environmental-warping.
One head’s exhale caused a poisonous gale to rip through the air, another head’s inhale summoned forth a corrosive rain, a third head’s breathing conjured a snowstorm that froze all things and a miasma that ended all life...
It was only now the group realized that the horrible environment they were enduring earlier all came from the giant snake’s unconscious breathing!
There was no doubt about it. This entity could only be the World Ender Jiuying, one of the Four Evils!
Another thing worth noting was that nine gigantic nails were nailed into the snake’s vital spots—specifically the areas seven inches below its heads.
Of course, these so-called “nails” were as big as stone pillars that held up the sky.
The giant nails were a faded dark yellow color. They were covered in complex and mysterious runes that flowed with a vast, awe-inspiring power that seemed capable of suppressing all things. It vaguely resonated with the Earthly Sovereign Bell’s aura.
The nine gigantic nails also seemed to be resonating with each other to form a profound and gigantic suppressing array. They firmly nailed Jiuying’s gigantic body to the bottom of the blue hole.
There was no doubt in everyone’s mind that this was the method the Eartly Sovereign had employed to suppress the World Ender Jiuying back then.
Something was wrong though. For starters, the nine nails that should be fully embedded in Jiuying’s flesh to lock down its origin power were mostly exposed.
The dark yellow glow covering the nails should be potent and brilliant, but it had become incredibly dim and weak.
The surface of the nails was covered in countless holes and cracks caused by corrosion.
The runes that should be shining with power had also become dim to the point where they were practically non-existent. It was clear that it had lost most of its power.
The array created by the nine divine nails had also become incomplete and broken, flickering erratically and weakly. It looked like it could collapse at any moment.
Clearly, there wasn’t much time left before the World Ender Jiuying would break free from the Earthly Sovereign’s seal and return to the human world.
