Selene POV

The atmosphere grew heavy as I and Xavier stared at each other without saying anything.

Lucius murmured something about going to check on some soldiers and left taking the girls with him. Finally, it was just me and Xavier.

"Why are you doing this, Selene?" Xavier broke the silence "I know I made a lot of mistakes in the past but I have changed and I’m ready to prove that to you,".

"I’m sorry, Xavier," I said coldly "But there’s nothing to be proven. There was a time when I wanted to be loved by you. When I craved your attention and I got repaid by your repeated cheating spree with Belinda. Now you can be with her and fuck her all you want,".

In a flash, he reached for me and dragged me to himself, his eyes searching my face "There’s a part of you that wants me, Selene. Just like the way you wanted me the other night and begged for it. You cannot live without me. Anytime we meet, anytime we touch, the sparks fly and I can tell you for free that you’d never experience that with my uncle,".

"Let me worry about that," I yanked my hands away from his "Sex is not everything and Noah will make me happy,".

He didn’t say anything, he cocked his brow at me as he stared at me with a hooded expression. After several seconds of being under his scrutiny, I was beginning to feel uncomfortable.

"What is it going to be, Xavier?" I asked folding my hands across my chest.

"What will happen if I don’t agree to your terms?" he asked quietly.

"It changes nothing," I replied with a dainty shrug "I’ll go back to Moon Whisper and become Noah’s Luna,".

"You know, I could sue you for weregamy," he chuckled but then again, it would be a waste of time and I wouldn’t want my children to be splashed all over the news or be a topic for discussion so," he shrugged "I would reject you but you have to give me access to the girls anytime I want,".

Instead of feeling relieved because of his rejection, my heart thumped with pain as I stared at him. For the first few seconds after he agreed, I didn’t know what to say. I hadn’t been expecting he would easily cave in.

"A-Are you sure?" I asked him, still confused.

"Selene," he chuckled shaking his head "Anyways, I expect that in these three days, you’d fulfill your duties as my Luna in every ramification," his eyes glinted with mischief.

Feeling my cheeks redden, I lowered my gaze, of course, I was going to act as a normal Luna would do in these three days.

"Yes," I said tersely.

"Cool," he nodded "I’m going back to the pack house now to arrange my trip to see Kurtis... When would you come?" freёnovelkiss.com

"I just need to talk to Noah and let him know,".

"Oh!" He laughed "You haven’t told your beloved fiancé? Were you worried that he would not accept or because you don’t hold him in high regard? By the way, don’t tell him that we would be sleeping with each other... it’ll hurt him so much,".

Before I could retort, he walked out.

After he left, I stood there for the longest time, trying to come up with a suitable and convincing excuse to tell Noah. We already fought a while ago and he had left angrily. I didn’t know if he was still angry with me.

While I was still there trying to come up with the best excuse, the door to the rooftop opened and Noah entered.

When I saw him, I rose to my feet and watched him walk towards me. His eyes were blank making it difficult for me to gauge how he was feeling right now. When he got to me, I took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Noah, I...".

"Olivia, I..."

The both of us said in unison. Then we stared at each other and collapsed into a fit of laughter. When the laughter died down...

"Go ahead," he urged me.

I shook my head "No, you go first. I’ve said a lot today, I don’t want to say more,".

"Okay," he nodded and exhaled "I love you, Selene and I mean it in every way possible but I cannot keep being tossed like a coin and this is not me putting pressure on you or what not..." he sighed "I just want you to choose. I know you don’t love me but I’m willing to gamble that our marriage would be beautiful and I’d be devoted to you for the rest of my life. So, I need you to make a decision, will it be me or your mate?"

"That’s an easy one, Noah," I said quietly my gaze on him "I choose you. I want to be with you and I care a lot about you. Love would definitely happen, I am sure of it,".

"Okay," he nodded "How about your mate.. what are we going to do about him and his dilemma. As much as I’d hate to admit, he’s my nephew and family, of course I always want what’s best for him and right now... his pack is in such a mess..." he trailed off swallowing hard. "Is there something you could do that would help?"

He knew...

He knew that if I should step in to help Xavier that the greater part of it would involve intimacty.

"Noah..." my heart twisted with pain.

"Don’t worry," he gave me a wooden smile "You should do whatever you want to do with him to restore peace to his pack. And when you’re done, I’ll be here waiting. I just need you to reassure me that it’s me you want at the end of the day...".

I nodded my head, feeling guilty.

"Great," he clapped his hand "How many days do you need?"

"Three days," I replied..." And we’d be done. In those three days, I would be his Luna and all the duties...".

"Don’t tell me," He shook his head as pain flashed in his eyes "I understand that you have duties, you don’t have to spell it out for me. Again," he sighed "I’ll be here waiting for you,".

"Okay," I tried to smile but my heart was breaking into pieces. I didn’t think I would able to sacrifice as much as Noah was doing for me.

"Okay!" he clapped his hand "I’ll drop you off at the Pack House. Just do what you must and let me know if you need anything from me,".
