As the day went by, the more anxious Harlow was for Alanis. Even if she was mad at him, she was still so scared for him. George was to flog him fifty times, what scared her was the tool he would use.

Though Charlotte said they had options, they had the whip, sticks, canes, and more, she knew George would pick a hard weapon. He had sworn to inflict pain on Alanis because of her.

No matter how hard she tried to tell herself Alanis deserved everything happening now, she knew it was not true. This was her fault. She should be the one being flogged by them.

She watched as Alanis left the lounge to just her and Charlotte Hamilton.

"Already feeling guilty my Harlow?" Charlotte asked and she met the woman’s gaze.

"I had no idea she was pregnant." Harlow bit her lower lips. "And even if you did know, you were trying to protect yourself according to what my grandson said.’ Harlow nodded.

She had been too angry seeing the deed of her past returning. She will never let anyone harm her again until she’s taken revenge on everyone who harmed her.

"She almost killed me," Harlow said recalling how shocked she was when she saw the dagger in Claudia’s hands. If she hadn’t dodged, she would have been dead by now. But will the same rule be passed to Claudia? Will she ever even accept that she had harmed her?

"You did the right thing, Harlow. You protected yourself, but you killed someone else in the process." Charlotte said. "As someone who lost her child in the past, you should understand how it feels." Harlow turned to look at the old woman her eyes going wide.

"I’ve missed you and Alex so much Harlow. You both were my two favorite people in this world." Charlotte’s eyes moistened as she spoke to her granddaughter-in-law. Heaven knows how long she’s waited for this moment. How long she’s waited to tell Harlow the truth about her reborn.

She has been waiting for the right time to let Harlow know she is not alone and that there are people around her that still love her.

Whatever had happened in the past was now gone, they were in a new life, and she couldn’t spend the rest of her days fighting the people who hurt her before. It would be a waste of life.

"Is it really you grandma?" Harlow asked a streak of tears rolling down her eyes as Charlotte nodded. She rushed to hug her grandmother-in-law. She felt so happy, so relieved.

There was someone who could understand her finally, who wouldn’t see her as a crazy person. Though Alanis didn’t make her look crazy, she felt awkward talking to him.

"I can’t believe it." She said.

"Now you understand why I have been asking for my Alex again." Charlotte smiled but Harlow didn’t return it. Alex was a sensitive topic for her, she doubts anything can make her forget the pain that Hamilton’s put her son through.

"I know Grandma, but I doubt you would see Alex again," Harlow said calmly. As she has said before, she would never bring a child into this world again, not in this life. She would give no one the pleasure of harming her child again.

Charlotte said nothing to her, she had also witnessed the pain and suffering Harlow went through. She would never forgive her family if they were to put her through such pain.

"You were fine when you left that day, and then the next moment I heard you had an accident," Charlotte said to see Harlow nod.

"It was Claudia who hit me, and then Gary ended everything at the hospital, even though she knew I was pregnant." Charlotte’s eyes went wide.

"Y... You were..." Harlow nodded. She already had a miscarriage during the accident and then Garth ended it all.

"B... But Alex must have died of natural causes right?" She asked. She knew her grandson was sick, she tried to explain to Alanis too, but no one took her seriously. In their eyes, she was just a sick old woman.

"So I thought till I saw his body." Harlow blinked her tears away. Her baby had been brutally murdered with marks all over his body.

"What do you mean Harlow."

"Claudia killed him." She confessed. "She told me herself. She was also reborn." Charlotte’s eyes went wide. That bitch had killed her grandson, and now, she was becoming a member of their family.

Soon it was night and the time for Alanis’s punishment. The moment the clock struck seven, George was already banging at their door.

"Come out now Alanis before I break this door myself." Harlow’s heart skipped at his words. She stared at the man before her, who had no expression on his face. Not even his usual smile.

At this time, Elisa had already arrived with Claudia, they were the ones engineering George to bring Alanis and his wife out. Claudia wanted to see them being humiliated even if she hadn’t lost her child like she claimed.

"You didn’t lose the child and made me cause a scene?" Elisa asked her daughter shocked by her action.

"What would they say when they find out you’re still pregnant Claudis?" Elisa asked still unable to believe her daughter would do such. She had caused chaos in the Hamilton family and a punishment had already been arranged for Harlow and Alanis, only for everything to be a lie?

"No one has to know mother." She said.

"Or better still we’ll make them believe it Mother. We could just tell them I was pregnant with twins and Harlow killed one." Claudia said like it was nothing, shocking her mother.
