Chapter 407: Chapter 407- Extremely Assertive

Everyone looked at him with slight fear in their eyes. With only his murderous aura Woo-seong was able to make over a hundred disciple’s retreat.

Even though no one in this crowd was at the Spiritual Realm, they weren’t weak in the slightest, most of them were elites of the Martial Alliance Academy.

With the fact that the Martial Alliance Academy gathered the most talented disciples from Jianghu, these people were the cream of the crop within the cream of the crop. Even though they weren’t in the Spiritual Realm, they were guaranteed to eventually enter that realm in the future.

Naturally, they had their own pride, and after recovering they all glared at Woo-seong hatefully.

However, not everyone retreated. The burly disciple from before stood rooted to the ground and stared at Woo-seong with a cold expression on his face.

From his attire, one would be able to recognize him as a disciple from the Peng Clan Pavilion. This was further proved by the saber at his waist.

Even though this burly disciple wasn’t in the Spiritual Realm, he was a third-year disciple who was on the verge of entering that Realm, being in the Quasi-Spiritual Realm.

Going by age, he and Woo-seong were of similar ages. He wasn’t like the others who completely fear people like Woo-seong who claim themselves to be Raising Stars and Monster-level Geniuses that can suppress an entire generation.

He believed that people like Woo-seong only had a bit more talent them him. A gap might be there between them in terms of their cultivation but once he entered the Spiritual Realm, they would all be on the same playing field.

It was well known that the Spiritual Realm was the great divider. It was difficult for cultivators in this realm’s cultivation speed to be as exaggerated as it was in the Mortal Realm.

Because of this, it wasn’t unheard of for geniuses like Woo-seong who were considered the top talents of a generation to lose to disciples who had slightly lesser talents or even be completely surpassed.

There were countless records of this happening in the past as evidence.

When one reached the Spiritual Realm, that was where the real competition began. This was where the true weaklings were weeded out and disciples who were once overlooked would rise up.

This burly youth and many others like him were completely confident that once they entered the Spiritual Realm, people like Woo-seong wouldn’t dare look down on him.

They would step into the Land of the Dead as background figures but stepped out having their name resound throughout not just the Eastern Continent, but the Two Great Continents!

Woo-seong glanced at this burly youth and as if he had read his mind, he snorted derisively.

Vibrations appeared due to Woo-seong’s snort, and they traveled out while stimulating the Aether Energy in the surroundings, causing them to become extremely chaotic. This chaotic surge of Aether Energy was then carried by the sound waves of the snort and rippled towards this burly youth in tumultuous waves in the form of a sound and physical attack.

This type of unordinary attack by Woo-seong caused the burly youth’s pupils to shrink while his expression changed drastically.

He tried standing his ground by resisting the waves of chaotic Aether Energy. Saber Energy appeared around his body transforming him into a human saber.

Turning one’s Saber Aura to Saber Intent was only one Realm of comprehension apart, but they were as far apart as heaven and earth.

However, faint traces of Saber Intent had appeared within this burly youth’s Saber Aura that suggested he was on the cusp of transforming his Saber Aura into Saber Intent.

He was undoubtedly a genius in Saber Arts.

With his Saber Aura that showed signs of transforming into Saber Intent, he was able to block the chaotic waves of Aether Energy.

However, the sound wave within the chaotic waves of Aether Energy bypassed his defenses and shook up his internal organs.

The burly youth’s body trembled uncontrollably before he was immediately forced to retreat several meters. When he eventually came to a stop his joints released ’pah-pah’ sounds that sounded like they were cracking after being shaken intensely.

If it were not for him cultivating a Fleshly Body Techniques to complement his Saber Arts, his bones would have undoubtedly been broken in several places along with his internal organs rupturing. Though they were still in pain

With an ashen face, the burly youth looked at Woo-seong with slight terror in his eyes.

The confidence he had a moment ago to be able to challenge Woo-seong was greatly shaken.

Even though Woo-seong was in the Spiritual Realm, he shouldn’t have broken through not too long ago. However, for some reason, his strength was extremely abnormal for a newly advanced Earth Expanse Spiritual Realm cultivator.

The disciples who had retreated first also had their expressions change dramatically.

They knew what a Rising Star meant, but they had somewhat forgotten what being a Monster-level Genius signified.

It meant that anyone with this title wasn’t just monstrously talented in cultivation, but their battle prowess was so powerful that it was enough to fight across realms.

With such power, one had to wonder if disciples like the burly youth would be able to compete with people like Woo-seong. At the very least, this burly youth was unqualified.

"So it was true, two weeks ago Woo-seong challenged the Paladin Warrior from the Church in fourth place and regained his position on the Heaven Arena Rankings."

"I heard about this too."

"Given his current strength, is it possible that he could fight for the top three positions in the Two Continents Tournament?"

"That might be possible, after all, he was, or probably is, still considered the fourth strongest genius in the Academy based on the Heaven Arena Rankings. However, in my opinion, he shouldn’t be allowed to participate in the Two Continents Tournament."

"Yeah, I think so too. He was let off too easily by the Shaolin Sect. He should have been crippled and imprisoned like the Wudang Sect’s old Elders and his Father."

Woo-seong’s expression suddenly became even colder as he swept his gaze over these disciples.

His murderous aura spread unrestraint, and it seemed as if he was about to attack and kill every single person here in a split second.

This type of attitude made the disciples feel fear and apprehension, however, there were still some people who couldn’t take it and thought he was being too arrogant, so they spoke up.

"Ha, look at that, he’s not even showing gratitude to the people who spoke on his behalf, trying to suppress everyone so unruly. I once heard people saying Woo-seong had changed, but who dares to say that now? He’s still the arrogant and unruly Woo-seong from the past."

Some of the disciples then jeered at the others who had spoken out when Woo-seong was being criticized. These disciples frowned and looked at Woo-seong.

Even though they weren’t necessarily defending Woo-seong when they spoke out before, it was still humiliating for him to treat them similarly to the ones who were mocking him.

Woo-seong’s cold expression softened as he looked at these disciples. He then said softly.

"I don’t need anyone to speak up on my behalf. They will only be placing a target on their backs."

When these frowning disciples heard this, their frowns slowly disappeared, and they looked at Woo-seong with complicated expressions.

It could be seen that Woo-seong had indeed changed, he wasn’t as unreasonably arrogant and overbearing as before.

However, it was saddening that it took his Sect being reduced to the state it was now for him to change.

"All of you, I won’t say it again, leave."

This time, the disciples all listened, and they turned and left. As they dispersed, they started discussing Mar-Yue’s identity once again.

Some recognized her to be from the Barbarian Race due to her looks and outfit, but they had never thought such a beauty would be hidden away in the Eternal Desert. Even the ’Four Faries of Jianghu’ might not be her match in looks.

Which was true or why else would she have drawn so much attention upon entering the Academy? If not for the fact that the Academy was slightly deserted, Mar-Yue’s appearance would have caused a larger commotion and drew a larger crowd.

After dispersing the crowd, Woo-seong turned and headed back for the manor. He entered through the front gate before locking it.

Sol hadn’t left and had remained at the front gate. Looking at Woo-seong, he asked.

"You okay?"

Woo-seong raised his chin and said confidently.

"Of course, why wouldn’t I be?"

Sol smiled and nodded.

Mar-Yue had heard all of the disciples’ words so she could infer some things. She looked at Woo-seong and couldn’t help but reach out her hand.

Because Woo-seong was around two heads taller than Mar-Yue, he had to bend down slightly so she could pat his head.

As Mar-Yue did this, she said.

"Don’t mind those kinds of people. In the future, just let Big Sister know if anyone’s bothering you and I’ll deal with them, okay?"

Woo-seong nodded his head but there was a slight red blush creeping onto his face. With this, he realized that Mar-Yue and Sol were not so different.

They might look or even act innocent and naïve, but their true nature was extremely assertive.

Woo-seong was sure he was older than this girl by a few years, but here she was instantly claiming herself as the older one between them on their first meeting.

Sol smiled seeing Mar-Yue and Woo-seong getting along, before he turned to Mar-Yue and said eagerly.

"Come, let’s go in and talk. I still can’t believe you’re here, I’m so excited!"

Sol then hurriedly dragged the smiling Mar-Yue into the manor.
