Chapter 73: Feel something (3)

"Why are we here, Tobias?" Hazel asked, ignoring his question.

"Answer my question first. Do you feel something for me? Even if it’s small like you noticing a slight attraction to me," said Tobias.

"I already said that you are handsome," Hazel replied, but she knew it was not what he wanted to hear.

"You will come across a lot of handsome men, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be attracted to all. I don’t need you to like me right away, but I’d like to know if you share the same attraction I feel with you. I’d hate to have you marry a man that you don’t want in that way," Tobias said, placing his right hand beside her head to further cage her in.

"Why is that important-"

"Oh, it is very important. See, while most people marry just to raise their status or get more wealth, I want the full experience. To have a woman I can love, share my secrets with, and leave me feeling powerless when we make love. If you can never feel that for me, I won’t pick you at the end," Tobias promised.

He didn’t want to trap her in a marriage where she didn’t feel any desire for her husband. He didn’t want it with any of these women which was why the selection bothered him, but he especially did not want it for Hazel.

"It will come after," Hazel replied.

Everyone was quick to find partners to get married and then start a family soon after. There wasn’t much time to get to know the bachelors for this season and you couldn’t waste time as there would be another young woman there waiting for the chance to steal the man’s attention.

Getting to know more about your partner came after the wedding and it was then you learned if you were truly attracted to each other.

Before Tobias mentioned it, Hazel had never thought about if Tobias suited her that way. She would like for her night activities to be exciting instead of her laying beneath him, waiting patiently for it to end.

"Hazel, the people here hate getting divorced. If only you knew how many couples are ruined from their honeymoon because they were not the right fit for each other when it comes to intimacy, you would not want to stay waiting for it to come after. Don’t worry, I didn’t bring you here to bed you. That would be awkward to do here," Tobias said, squeezing some of the leaves in his hands. freёnovelkiss.com

They might fall through if they weren’t mindful and he truly had no plans of doing anything that would have them on the front of the morning paper.

Hazel listened to the sound of the guards running around. She was amazed that they were yet to find her and Tobias. She was curious how many times Tobias hid away here. "There is nothing for us to do that won’t ruin me which would let us know," she answered.

"Now hold on. I became aware of my attraction without touching you. It is all about thinking less about rules and paying attention to what is in front of you. If you stop worrying about what someone might say, you’ll enjoy yourself. I hope that by the seventh day, you will think about more than me being handsome," Tobias said.

"I’ve been thinking that I have to start letting you know what you’d be up for if you were to become my wife. I’ll take care of you. Whether it’s for a sickness or in bed-"

"Tobias," Hazel said, keeping her voice low so they wouldn’t be caught. She covered his mouth with her hand. "I fear your talk will get dirtier if I let you continue. Why bother about this when it will be all about you in the future? I’ve already overheard that I am to just lay there and endure. The tutors made it clear that what is in books is far different from reality."

"You offend me, Hazel. To hear you group me with pigs who have three thrusts and get it over with. Forget about what your tutors told you and what anyone in the palace might tell you in the future. I like to pay attention to the woman with me. See, what my peers fail to realise is that there is great satisfaction in making the woman the star of the night," Tobias said, picking up the end of the ribbon tied at the front of her dress.

The ribbon was nothing more than an accessory which would not affect her dress if undone. From the time she appeared before him, the shining red colour had caught his eyes.

"I enjoy exploring a woman’s body, learning what makes her grip the sheets beneath her. There is another type of pleasure that comes from seeing a woman be satisfied. It is more fun when she wants to be there and responds to your touch. So no, it will not all be about me," Tobias said, letting the ribbon fall to be back in place. "That is why you must see me as the man you want."

Hazel looked down from Tobias’s face to stare at his badges. It helped her to focus. She grabbed a handful of the leaves behind her to let out her frustration. "We cannot touch each other as it would be wrong and I don’t know how to test if I feel that way for you."

"I will help you figure it out. The feeling will be foreign to you. There will be times when you might look at me and feel restless or some say bothered down there. It is a sensation that makes you want to cross your legs to stop it. That is what your tutors should tell you. Maybe one day if you are bold, you should take a visit to the red light district," he suggested.

"What is the prince doing there?" Hazel asked, snapping out of the trance he had put her in.

"Do not think so lowly of me that I go there to pay for a woman’s time. There is a lot of gossip there. You can pay for a room and have drinks sent to it. You are free to do whatever you want here," said Tobias.

Hazel didn’t fully believe him because she had never heard of a man going there for a drink and not a woman, but she did think the best gossip in town was there.

"Edgar could defend me. He goes there to read books. What is that you have been using on your lips as of late?" Tobias questioned, keeping his eyes on her lips. "It looks pretty."

"It was a gift from my mother. Something new from the market that I didn’t try until this morning. I thought it wasn’t noticeable," Hazel said, touching her lip to try rubbing away the colour to see how bright it was.

"Don’t smudge it. My challenge for the next four days will be doing my best to have you want me," Tobias said, leaning down to close the gap between them.

Hazel gasped, expecting a kiss, but to her surprise, it wasn’t one on her lips. Tobias kissed her neck, leaving her skin hot.

"I have not forgotten you want your next kiss to be with your husband. I will respect it," Tobias said, moving his hand from beside her so Hazel could move if she wanted to. He stepped back, looking around to check for any guards. "We should go now before they catch us."
