The Soul System in the Apocalypse-Chapter 429: Betrayal

"I don’t have any arguments over this matter. But even then, it seems that I will have to take a few resources in order to make sure that we succeed this time. I have just witnessed that that group of humans is still getting stronger, stronger than we expected. It seems that they are always a step ahead of the apocalypse." Solin stated.

"What kind of resources are you trying to talk about? I do believe that if you go out by utilizing the resources of our race, you are definitely going to waste them. It is true that for our levels, the resources that are going to be utilized by you in order to be able to deal with the humans with that current power level, is definitely not going to be useful. But even then, it is not as if we have limitless resources. Unless we finally occupy that world, there is no way that we are going to be capable of gaining more resources." The man with a slim stature stated as he looked at Solin.

Solin looked at the man with an ugly expression on his face as he said, "What do you think? Do you think that you can handle this matter? If you can, go ahead and do it without depending on any resources of our race. Otherwise, it’s better if you shut up."

The man was just about to argue back, when the lady raised her hand. The moment that she did so, both Solin and the slim man remained silent as they glared at each other.

"Solin, you are allowed to utilize the resources that we possess in order to be able to deal with that group of humans. But even then, you have to make sure that you succeed. If you don’t, you will have to do something in order to make sure that we recover the losses that we will have suffered, together with the advantage that we will have lost at that time. Is that agreed?" The lady asked as she looked directly into Solin’s eyes.

With a confident expression on his face, Solin looked at the lady and said, "There is no problem about that. But if I succeed, this guy here has to compensate me for whatever it is that I would have lost."

The man with the slim body stature was just about to say something when the lady spoke first. "It is agreed. As long as you succeed this time, you would have been capable of doing something good for our race, enabling us to gain an advantage. So, of course, you are going to be rewarded for that."

It might be true that the entire dark race possessed 4 supreme figures, but even then, among the supreme figures, the lady could be said to be the leader among them all. But of course, it was not as if she was the absolute decision maker, considering that the others could also go against the decision that she had made as long as it was not in their favor.

With the decision finally made, three of them immediately disappeared from that place, leaving behind Solin.

Solin’s current expression was extremely frosty, as he thought about that group of humans. Of course, the group of humans that he was thinking about was Henry and the others. They had already interrupted several plans that he possessed, making him lose face in the entire dark race.

Initially, he could only mobilize a few resources that he controlled. But even then, they were not enough in order to be able to deal with Henry in the current stage of the apocalypse.

But now that he had been allowed to control all the resources present within this domain, he was definitely going to make sure that Henry suffered. After all, there was no way that he was going to lose this time with all the resources that he was going to utilize.

Additionally, the only forces that were remaining in the city and its surroundings belonged to the humans, the goblins, and finally, the monsters. Right now, the weakest amongst them was definitely the goblin race. But even then, the numbers that they possessed was extremely high, even higher than the number of monsters.

That was the only thing that was preventing Henry from eliminating them. He believed that as long as they began attacking the goblins, it was obvious that the monsters would also get involved and attack them.

If the monsters simply sat idle and watched as the goblin race was completely eliminated, then they would be the next target of the humans. That would put them at a great disadvantage against the humans, especially the humans of this city who had already reached the diamond rank, and not just one of them, but several of them.

But even then, it was not as if Henry was going to care much about the monsters. The current power that the territory possess was definitely capable of eliminating the goblins. The only reason why he was not attacking them until now was simply because he was waiting for an opportune moment.

The opportune moment would come after he had made sure that the entire territory was strong enough. He had already handed over several improved skills, equipment and so on. So, as time went by, the strength of the territory just kept on increasing, while the other races were quite stagnant.

Of course Henry had already linked the territory here in Hillstown and the one that was in Crystal City. So, the improvement that was occurring was not only in Hillstown, but even in Crystal City.

Of course during the months that he had been away from Crystal City, several changes had already occurred there. But even then, the one who was still in the lead of the entire territory was none other than Jasmine.

With the assistance of Sebastian, she was capable of controlling the entire territory without much resistance. And of course, she just continued with the rules that he had set before he left the territory, ensuring that those who obeyed would have an easier life in the territory, while those would disobeyed would end up being killed or locked up as punishment.

Maxwell, Jasmine’s father had not been lucky and had ended up dying. The reason behind that was simply because he had gone out with a team of adventure, but that team ended up betraying him and a few other loyal people to Maxwell.

In the end, the group that had betrayed the territory was stronger than the one that was loyal to Maxwell, and in the end, Maxwell and the other group was killed of. As for the resources that they had gone to collect, that group left together with it, planning to go to another city.

But even then, they did not succeed at all considering that the entire Crystal city had already been taken over by Domination Star territory. So, although the group tried to run away, they were finally captured, and Jasmine executed them personally.

Of course for that group to be able to suddenly betray the territory was not because they were arrogant, but it was just because they felt that they were being limited within the territory. Additionally, there was one of them that had already reached the diamond rank, and that was the exact reason why they were able to deal with the team that was protecting Maxwell.

But even then, in the entire territory back in Crystal City, it was not just Jasmine who had reached the diamond rank, but even Sebastian and Arthur had both reached the Diamond rank. Jasmine was in level 2 of the diamond rank, while Sebastian was in level 3 of the diamond rank.

Although Sebastian was stronger than Jasmine, he was quite loyal. Understanding that Henry and his group were extremely strong, he decided to believe that they would be coming back, despite them setting out on a journey that was extremely dangerous in order to move between cities.

So, he decided to support Jasmine all the way. With the support that she gained from Sebastian, it was not that difficult for them to be able to control the territory.

And after Henry came back to the territory through the function that allowed him to move between territories, he went ahead and rewarded both the two of them. Then, he went ahead and began upgrading the territory, together with the subordinates in terms of skills and equipment.
