"What?"

Ryo Otake was taken aback and lowered his voice as he stared at Kimura Kazuki, "The victims were all females... There hasn't been any case involving a male victim."

Kimura Kazuki stated calmly, "A male disguising himself as a female will do the trick. This is a supernatural case, and ordinary people shouldn't be involved anyway. Let's just do as I say."

In his past life, the Spiritual Academy had put out many missions that were weird and bizarre, including missions that required males disguising themselves as females. Kimura Kazuki had completed similar missions before.

Of course, the most dangerous missions were those that had been assigned when the Spiritual Academy was newly established. There had been quests that involved exploration of certain life-threatening places that required volunteers.

The so-called volunteers were men of sacrifice. No one would take on quests like that.

Yet, Kimura Kazuki had participated in two of those quests. Back then, it was the time of recuperation of reiki, and because he could not become a practitioner, he had lost hope in life. He managed to survive two perilous missions, just as he was about to volunteer for his third quest, a Spiritual Academy tutor from the Enchanted Talisman Division found him and withdrew his application for the mission on his behalf.

"I know that you gave up on yourself because you couldn't become a practitioner and because you think that practitioners will rule the world, but you're wrong in thinking along those lines. Although the Spiritual Academy is an official cultivator organization, our main aim is to ensure the benefits of ordinary people. I'm very proud of you being able to participate twice in the sacrificial missions, but come to the Enchanted Talisman Division and enjoy your new life to come. Don't go for dangerous missions anymore."

The Talisman tutor was not the best at consoling others, but because of his position, Kimura Kazuki had to listen to him. Gradually, he stopped having thoughts of accepting those dangerous missions and decided to live out his life.

Later on, the application of his plan on awakening the sword's spirit was quickly approved. His experiment was approved expeditiously because of his track record on previous missions, acknowledged by the Spiritual Academy.

Now that he was a cultivator, he would most definitely not allow ordinary people to risk themselves. He was 100% certain that if Ryo Otake appointed an average female officer to lure the demon, she would die miserably. However, if he were to protect her in the dark, that would probably alert the demon.

Therefore, he had decided that luring the demon personally was the best choice. As for putting girls, he was acquainted with in danger, like Chiba Shiori or Furuhashi Harunaka, which is not even an option for him.

"But..." flabbergasted, Ryo Otake scanned Kimura Kazuki from head to toe and spoke in a low voice, "The victims were all pretty women. You're too masculine, and your demeanor is too outstanding. You wouldn't look like a female even if you tried."

The cross-dressers online were only as pretty as they were because they already looked feminine in the first place. On top of that, they applied makeup to become such beauties. Kimura Kazuki was entirely unsuited to disguise himself as a female at all.

"Don't worry. I have my ways," assured Kimura Kazuki. "But it's not the time yet. Get me a fake identity within these two days, and there has to be genuine information online because the wraith can retrieve detailed information online, so you must make sure the data is real."

"Well... fine." Ryo Otake nodded. He no longer fought against the thought since it was already decided, "I'll prepare everything for you. Just let the police force take care of these things, we're experienced in it."

Kimura Kazuki nodded and told Ryo Otake to wait for his notice. He did not stay any longer at the crime scene since he was not a detective, after all. He had only come here to track down the scent of the demon. Now that there were no clues, only the simplest and most efficient method of risking himself would work.

Ikioi Ito had not entered again after he went outside to vomit. Seeing Kimura Kazuki coming out, he asked with curiosity all over his color-drained face, "How was it? Were there any clues?"

Kimura Kazuki only shook his head without explaining.

Seeing this, Ikioi Ito clenched his teeth, "Then should we go to the Natsume's place again at night to meet Master Natsume?" As he spoke, he wrinkled his face in reluctance. Getting help from Natsume Mitsue was too costly. The five million yen from before had been his personal savings since young.

Kimura Kazuki frowned, "His Seven Emotions Tracking Spell has no effect on wraiths like this." The Seven Emotions Tracking Skill was powerful, but it was not enough to find a demon that could intrude on the internet.

Ikioi Ito made no comment. Holding his head down, he whispered so that ordinary people could not hear him, "I think Master Natsume might have other spells. You wouldn't have known, but when I was younger, I once went to Natsume's place. Natsume Kumoko who looked around seven or eight years old at that time, has actually grown up now. Six or seven years have passed, and as a specter, Kumoko actually grew up..."

Kimura Kazuki's footsteps came to a stop as he heard him. Staring at Ikioi Ito, his gaze darkened, "You're saying, the girl named Kumoko died six or seven years ago?"

"Yes." Ikioi Ito nodded, "I've never heard about specters growing up... That's why I think that Master Natsume must have developed other spells. We might be able to catch this wraith that does harm to others if we seek his help."

Kimura Kazuki contemplated on the thought and finally shook his head without replying to Ikioi Ito's words.

Time flew past and night soon befell.

Just as Kimura Kazuki was about to go to bed, he felt his Detonator Talisman being crushed and activated. He got up and looked at the time. It was close to midnight... If he were to rush to the Spirit District now, he could still catch the last tram. Of course, even if he did not go there by tram, he could still reach there in half an hour with his speed.

Kimura Kazuki's movements of getting out of bed startled Furuhashi Sakurakyu, "What are you doing?"

Eyeing Furuhashi Sakurakyu, he spoke calmly, "I have something to do, so you can guide your daughter on your own. I won't be taking you there."

Furuhashi Sakurakyu wanted to speak, but Kimura Kazuki had already left. Staring at his figure, she sighed deeply, murmuring, "There isn't enough time at all... I guess I'll just have to start from the emotional aspect."

Very soon, Kimura Kazuki came to Spirit District and went to the Usui Shrine of which he was familiar with.

In front of the statue, the Usui Spirit appeared before Kimura Kazuki could speak.

Not giving it a chance to talk, Kimura Kazuki stared at him and asked suspiciously, "I only asked you yesterday, but you already gathered clues today?"

The Usui Spirit chuckled, "Master Kimura, it's an unbelievable coincidence now that you speak of it. The dead person you're looking for is in Spirit District itself, so it didn't take me much effort to find him." With that, the Usui Spirit's temple glowed with a flash of light, and a cat as black as charcoal came to their side after that, meowing with obedience as it did so.

"Lead the way, Little Mi."

"Meow."

Soon, Kimura Kakuzi came to a residential house. As Little Mi climbed over the walls to go in, he followed it without hesitation.

Upon entering, he saw Little Mi circling a tree about 10 meters in front of him.

Subsequently, he went up to the tree and searched beneath its trunk as the reiki in his body flowed. Five meters deep into the soil, he then "saw" a corpse resembling a human form. However, the corpse was beyond recognition and had already started to decompose.

Raising his head to see the pitch black house, he whipped out his phone to dial Ryo Otake's phone number without any expression on his face.

After the phone was picked up, he spoke right away.

"Found the murderer's corpse."
