The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 1569: Nathalie, Are You Going to Inderia?
Nathalie Quinlan herself didn’t look at these. After following everyone in Class A’s group on Twitter, she quietly logged out without checking any updates.
Instead, it was Shawn Norton who called her at that moment.
"Hello."
Nathalie’s voice was rather hoarse, mainly because she hadn’t been resting well these past few days, and she was already exhausted.
If it hadn’t been Shawn calling, she might not have picked up if it were anyone else.
"Nathalie, are you asleep?" Shawn’s voice, as always, was full of energy yet very gentle, clearly indicating his concern.
Nathalie casually closed her laptop and walked towards the bed, grabbing a book from the bookshelf along the way.
With the phone at her ear, she slowly responded to Shawn’s question, "No, I’m about to go to sleep."
"Oh."
Nathalie placed the book on the bedside table, turned on the lamp, and asked him in a very good-natured manner, "Is there something you need?"
"I do have something to discuss with you."
Knowing she was busy recently, Shawn got straight to the point, explaining why he reached out to her and finally asking, "So, are you interested?"
Standing still with the phone in one hand, Nathalie found it somewhat amusing. She didn’t immediately reply but said in a low, hoarse voice, "You want me to go to Inderia for the annual conference?"
She never expected Shawn was calling her for this matter.
Just unexpected.
Nathalie’s eyes rippled with a hint of mockery.
Caryn Zachmann went to great lengths to go to Inderia, even going as far as to curry favor with Ellen Quarles, hoping to use the Quarles Family’s power to secure a place from the Pharmaceutical Association... yet she didn’t know there were spots available to go to Inderia from domestic institutions, not just through the Pharmaceutical Association.
Just like the Pharmaceutical Association, there’s only one new spot available.
But at least there’s a spot!
It’s not like Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker thought, that only abroad could provide such opportunities.
"Are you going?"
After asking, Shawn worried she might miss this great opportunity, adding, "Master Cadmus, Mr. Wafford, and I discussed it for a long time and decided to give this spot to you. You’re one of the best among the younger generation domestically. This trip to Inderia is a great opportunity to showcase yourself. We considered others, but for something representing the country, after much consideration, we still think you’re the most suitable."
Jackson Wafford and Shawn actually initially considered Caryn Zachmann.
Firstly, Caryn was a few years older than Nathalie, with more experience.
Secondly, Caryn’s brother, Hendrik Zachmann, was from Maybelissa, one of the top powers in the Illegal Zone, and was somewhat famous in Inderia.
Considering these points, although Caryn’s character was questionable, she was indeed a more suitable candidate.
Nathalie was only a freshman!
Shawn considered more deeply, worrying that her standing out too much might attract unnecessary attention and trouble.
But plans couldn’t keep up with changes.
They didn’t expect Caryn later successfully connected with the Pharmaceutical Association and was now using that relationship to get a spot to Inderia.
If they reapproached Caryn at this point, it would seem as though domestic institutions couldn’t retain talent, a bit like being rejected!
Furthermore, an important reason was that Master Cadmus didn’t really think Caryn was a suitable representative for their trip to Inderia.
He remarked that Caryn was too flamboyant, couldn’t hold her temper, was overly ambitious, and overly proud... Who knows what trouble Caryn might cause if she went to Inderia.
