Chapter 478: 27 years.

"What is so funny captain?" Abby inquired.

The captain leaned forward and he put both of his hands on the table.

"You want to question a new system host who happens to be a billionaire coming from a wealthy family that could potentially fund our branch of the bureau.

She also happens to be married into another wealthy family that is taking steps to provide us with three hundred billion over the course of three years.

But just because her cat was caught on camera at the entrance of the hidden city behind her mall you want to accuse her of murder. Forget it Abby, it’s not as if Lai Yanfang was a precious system host in the bureau.

She was a member of the dark side and a serial killer so her death is not such a great loss for humanity. Nobody here is going to be shedding any tears for her.

Only a handful of people knew about Lai Yanfang’s presence in the city. If questions are asked, she was dead when she arrived."

He tore up the autopsy report, declaring that the matter was over as far as he was concerned. His only concern was that the city had been breached by an enemy but if that wasn’t the case then he could take a deep breath.

Still, they would need to buff up security and find out how that killer cat had made it into the city without being noticed.

"You can leave now, detective." Without raising his head to look away from the paperwork which was occupying him, he dismissed Abby Chung.

Abby cleared his throat and made no move to leave the office.

"What is it?"

"Doctor Nuwa’s notes had made a note that there was no detection of Lai Yanfang’s presumed hypnosis system. Does this mean it already detached and found a new host?"

The captain gave Abby a brief neutral glance and looked down. "That is a job for the watchers, not your department."

"Yes sir." Abby saluted, and left with his smile.

He was still curious however about what happened to the system. If it had found a new host then who was it? Usually, when a system host died, their system returned to where it came from or detached and found a new host . This was why enemy system hosts were preferably captured alive. It was to stop the villainous systems from escaping, finding new hosts and continuing to cause havoc.

Lai Yanfang had killed numerous people and harmed even more so to Abby, her system was bad news. Even though he wasn’t a whatcher, he planned to keep an eye on the Lai family and see if the system had latched onto any family member.

As for Tai Alix, Abby considered her to be another dangerous character. Someone that pursued their enemy to the ends of the earth at all cost was either crazy or too determined. She was also too brazen as she sent her killer cat to murder someone in the city. If she was allowed to operate as she pleased just because she had money, then it could become dangerous in the long run.

Others might copy her example, in fact Wukong was already flaunting most of the rules as he pleased. They didn’t need another Wukong in the hidden city.

Approved or not, he intended to have a talk with her and explain some of the rules to her. Politics be damned, the hidden city had to protected from all that could cause it’s ruin.

After teaching the children how to play different instruments and giving them all each a personal music instrument according to their preference, Alix bid farewell to her friends and walked to the private VIP wing of the hospital with Bi Cang.

It was no mistake that this hospital was the one she had come to. It was the same one where all the Lin’s were hospitalized and out of the goodness of her heart, she was visiting them all, starting with Billi.

"Hello, big sister." she greeted cheerfully when she walked into the room.

The same female caretaker that had been around when she broke Billi’s legs was there, sitting in a chair by the balcony and reading a book.

She jumped up when she saw Alix.

"Sit down." Alix told her.

Moving to Billi’s side, she sat down on the bed and woke up her sister who was sleeping.

"Big sister, i am here to visit."

Billi opened her eyes slowly and they widened in fright as soon as she saw Alix.

"Get away from me." she screamed.

Her upper body started to wriggle as she struggled to escape away from the demon named Alix whose every visit left her in pain and suffering.

The screams turned into loud crying and she pushed the emergency button with her head, hoping that doctors could come and rescue her.

"Big sister, i am not going to do anything to you, i promise. I came because i heard that you came down with a weird illness which keeps your body cold." Alix smiled slyly and held Billi down flat.

She looked at all the thick blankets which were being used to cover her body, and the heating packs in the room.

"See, you have been moving around so much that you dislodged the blankets. Let me help you put the back."

She wrapped Billi up, bundling her as tight as she could, turning her into a burrito with legs that were raised up, held by stirrups.

She stood up and touched the right one. "Big sister, when do the doctors think your legs will recover?"

"Leave me alone, just leave me alone." Billi cried out. "You, call the police, call the hospital guards, call alone. She is not human, she is a monster." She looked at her caretaker and cried hysterically.

Alix wrinkled her nose, smelling the obvious scent of urine. Billi was so scared of her now that she had wet herself. She sighed and took her hand off the leg.

She looked at sobbing Billi and said earnestly, "This is why you should have been kind to me big sister. You shouldn’t have turned my love into hatred. The debts you owe me cannot be paid be paid back in this life.

But, i will be merciful and only punish you for only twenty seven years, that’s how long i lived in misery because of you so it’s only fair that you live the same way.

Twenty seven years Billi and then we can both have a clean slate. After that, i will let you go."
