Chapter 111: Chapter 111:Boss Battle [2]

Desperately swimming through the ocean, Liam finally let out a sigh of relief as he realized the current was no longer pushing him back, but now forward.

Looking backward, Liam wasn’t surprised upon not seeing any of his group members.

They were Worldly students after all, it would take them ages to catch up to him, and he had no time to wait.

Although...a couple of yards behind him, Liam did see a familiar figure.

Xero.

Just a couple of seconds ago, Liam had been searching the beach with his team when he heard a primal-sounding scream that could only be released by a powerful beast.

Without skipping a beat, Liam immediately followed the sound; however, he had only been met with water and waves.

At first, Liam was extremely confused.

Crabawlers only lived on the shores; there was no way one could be that far into the ocean.

However, upon a second glance at the ocean, Liam spotted a small group of four students on some weirdly-shaped rocks, floating around in the water and waiting.

Bewildered, Liam followed their gaze, not immediately assuming they were simply useless, and then he saw it.

Just as Liam glanced forward once again, the massive wave fell, revealing the small island in the distance.

The scream had come from there!

Calling his teammates over, Liam immediately sprinted into the ocean and swam forward with incredible speed, sending shockwaves through the water’s surface as he kicked his feet.

Unfortunately, as a light element-user, the prince didn’t have any way to speed up his swimming, so he begrudgingly continued forward.

However, when Xero appeared behind him, Liam’s expression immediately lit up.

With his entire body wrapped in an expensive fur coat, Xero casually walked on water...or rather, ice.

With the element of temperature, he simply decreased the temperature of the water below him until it became ice.

When he placed his foot forward, the water under it would instantly turn to ice, allowing him to casually stroll across the ocean.

Using most of his strength to keep his head above the water, Liam smiled and yelled.

"Hey, Xero, I have a proposition!"

"Hm?"

Having not noticed Liam, Xero confusedly looked around before spotting the head floating in the water, his expression immediately lightening.

Taking a detour to the right, Xero walked on ice until he was a few feet away from Liam and questioned.

"What deal?"

Gazing at the island in the distance, Liam answered.

"You want to get rid of that commoner who won Professor Snape’s challenge, right? You help me get to that island, and you have my support."

Individual rankings were everything, even for a prince.

What if Charlotte was already on that island, fighting the beast?

If she achieved a higher individual rank than him through his exam, his case for the throne would immediately crumble.

Liam needed to receive a higher rank than his sister, at any cost.

Not even taking a moment to think about the deal, Xero immediately leaned downward and reached his hand out, pulling the drenched Liam onto the ice path he had created.

However, at that moment, the part of the ice path behind Xero started to melt and turn back into water.

The Worldly students of Xero’s group, who had been previously following him on the ice path from a distance, were immediately stranded with no way to the island anymore.

Angry and furious yells immediately sounded.

"WE’RE IN YOUR GROUP; WHY ARE YOU LEAVING US!?"

"WHAT THE HELL!? WE NEED THESE HIGH RANKS MORE THAN YOU!"

"DON’T LEAVE US!"

"RECREATE THE P-"

Before the four Worldly students could even finish their yelling, the ice below them immediately melted, dropping them into the water.

Not even turning around to face them, Xero casually snorted and muttered.

"Filthy commoners."

Ignoring Xero’s remark, Liam hurriedly covered his body with his arms, asking.

"How do you stand this cold?"

Drenched and standing on ice, the prince couldn’t help but shiver while his teeth chattered.

Continuing his walk forward toward the island and creating more ice, Xero turned around and answered.

"This is nothing compared to the South."

*WHOOSH*

As the two royals continued their walk toward the island, a sudden gust of wind brushed against them, almost knocking the freezing Liam out.

Confusedly, the two of them looked around.

The gust was far too strong to be natural unless some type of windstorm had formed, yet nothing was around them but water.

Far above the two boys and out of sight, a white-haired figure flew through the sky, two wind currents under each of her shoes.

She easily outpaced the prince and Xero, even passing by Charlotte’s group, who had figured out the existence of the island far before anyone besides Jett.

Charlotte, with her group of four Worldly students, had imitated Jett, creating rock surfboards and riding them toward the island.

One of the scouts the princess had sent out had seen Jett’s group initially breaking pieces of rocks off and reported back.

Although she had initially ignored it, upon hearing the scream across the ocean, the two things suddenly clicked, and she realized that Jett’s group planned to cross the water.

Unlike Xero and Liam, Charlotte was much more panicked, internally, as she knew one group was already on the island.

On the outside, though, she remained calm and composed, being the only Imperial class student to direct and lead her entire group of Worldly students, not abandoning them.

Gazing back at her group, who were floating behind her with amazed expressions, Evangel’s expression stiffened.

The wind element could often be mistaken for the air element, despite the two being complete opposites in the power hierarchy.

Thankfully, her Worldly teammates had just accepted her as an air element user and focused on... the fact that they were flying!

Below the five students in the air, the dark-blue ocean glistened, making for a beautiful view.

Additionally, seeing all the students they were passing down below, like Liam and Xero, the group was even happier, not questioning Evangel’s ability in the slightest.
